Have you never heard of Stent Road, Okato (turn off to the Kumara patch. You might need the farmers permission), and Opunake. Every body raves about Rags. OK if your goody, but nothing in my 40 years of surfing (NZ) can touch the Kumara patch on a 6 ft plus winter swell, with Mt Egmont/Taranaki covered in snow.

BTW... Piha..is pronounced Pea (as in the vegatable)...haa...and for christs sake....its Lion Rock...not Camel Rock! And maybe I missed it, but what island are they talking about around Gisborne. It sounds a lot to me like Matakana Island to me. A 15 minute paddle from the Mount across the shipping channel on the out going tide. Walk up the beach a couple of k. Your stuck there till the incoming tide unless your rich land have Al boat. Pack your sarneys and weed in zip locks

Mmmm... Not sure you travelled NZ very extensively. Piha while it get a lot of swell coz its on the west coast is hardly an epic spot, its only so popular coz its the closest surf beach to Auckland, and ship wreck bay only works on huge southerly swells. Coromanel is fickle in terms of swell. Taranaki, gisbourne, raglan are all v good places to go. There is another region in the north island which works on south swells, has an amazing array of uncrowded points and reefs that you clearly missed. Down south also a three regions you missed which rate highly. One is quite subject to the right conditions, another is generally pretty consistent, and the last one has arguably the best array of breaks in the country, possibly not as good as taranaki, but taranaki is subject to a lot of wind. Where are these places? Bloody sure I am not going to tell you.

@@wiersmerica 1st you're naming their spots, 2nd you're showing where the spots are, 3rd you're showing videos of how the spots look and I'm pretty sure you're not Kiwi. You're probably won't come back soon so it's not your problem since you only want more followers on your channel. NZ is one of the few places left on earth where you still can get uncrowded surf. I spend 22 travelling the world looking for uncrowded surf. From north Norway to the Canaries, Sri Lanka, Hawaii, France, OZ etc Because of youtube & socialmedia it has changed alot the past 10 years in NZ. Some surfbeaches now have been denied access , most of them no camping, bigger crowds, more rubbish etc. Places with empty lineups 5 years ago are now crowded thanks to guys like you. The rest of the world us even more crazy. I spend 3 months this winter roadtrippin France, Spain and Portugal trying to get uncrowded surf on low-low season. It was more crowded now in winter then when I was there 15 years ago on peak summer season. I don't want NZ to look like that in the future.
