It amazes me, the number of regular and frequent interviewees who come onto the news from their home, be they MPs, journalists, correspondents, COVID/Brexit/whatever experts, and sound like they’re speaking from a public toilet. Fair enough if they have to log in from the kitchen but many have a dedicated home office where they could easily invest in a decent mic and a few acoustic panels to improve the audio quality and, therefore, the professionalism of their broadcast. This stuff is probably not on their radar but I’m surprised they don’t have media-savvy people in their teams who could advise...

I think most people cannot justify spend 200 usd or more in a microphone. Perhaps recommend budget and good enough ones would be more useful advice.

Hi Andreas, whenever we're talking about a specific microphone, that's the mic you can hear. For the intro section of the vid, we were using Rode lavalier mics. Hope that helps!

Each mic should be tested by both genders.
