The Hindustan Ambassador was an automobile manufactured by Hindustan Motors of India. It was in production from 1958 to 2014 with few improvements and changes over its production lifetime. The Ambassador was based on the Morris Oxford series III model, first made by Morris Motors Limited at Cowley, Oxford in the United Kingdom from 1956 to 1959.

Hi from Argentina. You could've give an honorable mention to the Ford Falcon. The original model was sold in the U.S.A. from 1960 thru 1970, but in Australia, they kept developing the car that was sold until Ford closed his Australian factory in 2017. The last model was the Falcon FG X, although it had not one thing in common with the original from the 1960's other than the nameplate.

Most cars of this list are also really cultural masterpieces of the automotive industry. Some still being maked like the G-Wagen and the Lada Niva. That phenomenon that Peugeot made their cars by license requiring products also came with the Brazilian peugeot 505 and 504. And Lada still makes the Niva but now calls him the "Urban". Maybe you can make a video about the most famous (well know) models ever produced around the world? Keep up the good work! 😎🖒

Bought a Niva in 82 in Canada it was stolen in 88. Missed that car(best hunting and fishing vehicle ever) . I was married with kids by then and couldn't replace it. In 97 I was single again and wanted a new fuel injected model but all the ones in my provience were pre-sold as they wern't being imported anymore. Currently look for a decent one to restore.

Actually the handle used to lift the front helmet was the same during all the years! And You could change a door to a newer version without much problems, if needed. And the engine was still a 4 cylinder boxer. So when Toyota claims to have made more cars named: Corolla, its a joke because they have been totally different. Only the name was the same.

Most Ford Falcons built in Australia share similarlarities from their late 1960's start till their final production in 2017. Same with the Holden Commodore, which shared similarities from its Monaro days through the Kingswood/Premier years. Old school technology simply improved over the years. A straight 6 or V8 engine. 4 or 5 speed box, eventually 6 speed. Rear wheel drive old fashion gearbox. Simple but it worked.

We had 3 Rivas. My parents owned 2 ( one after the other ), and I had one. Mechanically very reliable ( though the trim was crap and the windows on ours needed wedges in to hold them up or they dropped into the door body ), incredible heater ( presumably for Russian winters ), 42 amp alternator so never a problem with low battery, and worm-and-peg steering instead of rack and pinion meant you could bounce over kerbs and across a ploughed field diagonally and the wheel would never be snatched from your hands. Plus you could park them in even the shittiest of areas and no-one vandalised or stole them. Very thick steel too, 18 gauge instead of 22 or 24 gauge tinfoil like some of the other budget cars of the era ( hello Datsun ) so they didn't rust away in front of you. One of the ultimate "I don't give a crap what you think and have nothing to prove" cars...

So, if you have own car repair garage and like to construct/deconstruct your UAZ every week, this is your car. If you want buy car and in 5-7 years just replace beakepads and engine oil and nothing more, UAZ isn't your car.

Mustangs were never produced as a front wheel drive car. Ford tried in the 80's and received so much hate mail that they changed the name and out came the 1989 Ford Probe. I also wouldn't call it a "sports car" Sports car usually refers to a 2-seater. You can buy a new version with only 2 seats, but all Ford did was remove them to save weight, not quite the same. Lastly, in no way is a car from 1998 considered ancient.

Hi, I was at art college way back in the middle '60s and we had a quality, Bauhaus trained, German lecturer. He told us that the Land Rover, then Series model, and the Mini would still be an acceptable, even attractive, design of coachwork "in twenty years". He was out by a factor of two. Both were brilliant designs and quite beautiful.

Jeep Wrangler, production started in 1987 and can be traced back to the willys MB. The willys was produced from 1941 untill 1945. In 2015 came the Jeep Renagede along, this car is more or less a tribute to the Willys and the first model Wrangler. PS I work in a Jeep dealership. Its my job to know this xd

I live in the US and own a 1989 Peugeot 405 Mi16. It's a nice sporty red color with a grey/black leather interior, moonroof, and 5spd manual. It's quite a rare car over here an an absolute blast to drive. It used to be my daily for awhile but parts are really hard to get here so I ended up turning it into a project car and getting a new daily driver. I'm currently driving a Lexus LS430 everyday but despite the modern comforts of the Lexus, the 405 Mi16 stirs something up inside of me in a way the Lexus doesn't.

Got this in my recommendation and I love cars. My mother drives a peugeot 307 -08 (1 owner car for 11 years) though but the unreliability thing is smth I have never understood. We haven't had a lot of issues, average 15000km a year, and the car is still going strong with regular maintaince and a lot of light bulbs.. yes, the thing about it eating light bulbs is true but other than that, we haven't had to change much, battery once, wheel bearing, one timing belt change (at 110000km, recommended 150000 from peugeot), and some small stuff but not expensive major repairs. Also no rust I can report. Out of interest I looked up average reliability index score and it's slightly above average by 4%. So can SOMEONE fill me in why peugeot is so hated for unreliability?

Crazy Dave - Main reason I see, time and time again, is ignorance. People love the hear say (gossip) and tend to make stupid generalizations. I've had/have a bunch of cars, beside having a good mechanical background I also do all the work on them. In fact I don't enter a workshop (as client) for almost 30 years now. ;-) Never had a 307, but for the sake of discussion Peugeot 106,107, 206, 306, are or have been around. Also Citroen C3, Picasso (2x) diesel & gas, Renault, Mercedes A class, Toyota Yaris D4D, etc...Some bought new out of the show room. Most others where 500€ cars, well beaten and used. Perfect examples of Winter beaters. My "record breakers" in what bulbs are concerned are the Toyota Yaris, bulbs front and back. Most already replaced with LED's, I couldn't stand it anymore. The H4 are the worst. :-( With a close second place for a Fiat Punto 2000, but only the left front bulb. Curiously both cars bought new! When I sold the 306 the buyer was staggered. After inspection under the car, etc. He turned to me and said "...but this car as no rust!!" Beware I live in a country where rust as it's own citizenship. ;-) Unfortunately on the used cars I always notice a huge amount of issues related with bad manipulation or attempts to fix/maintain without the minimum knowledge. In other words owner induced failures. :-( A very common problem on older "cheap" cars. Where owners try to do "things" to save money... many times with awful results. Exception to the 107, that's on 105K. All others are well above 200K, with a few touching or surpassing the 300K barrier. Only the Yaris (wife car) takes OEM parts (very expensive). All the rest get going with Ebay "specials", read the cheapest I can find. LOL 😂 So let them speak, it's good when I want to buy used... ;-) Cheers
