I use store bought air dry clay which you can find at any craft or toy shop.
When making your sculpture, Wait for each layer/part to dry especially when sculpting small details. It's much easier to control, shape and spread the clay when you sculpt in layers/parts.
I hope you enjoy watching the making of this project as much as I enjoyed creating it and perhaps you will be inspired to make something creative too.

I’ve just started working with air dry clay. My apt Bldg had a craft bazaar this weekend and I sold a bunch of tree ornaments. I made little thatched cottages out of clay with felt roofs and tiny painted details. Sold great. I want to get better for small winter animals but they weren’t good enough to sell. I loved your lesson on making an armature with wire and foil. I also sold macaroni angels from real macaroni but they take a long time to make. I’m gonna try little angels in clay now, standing and flying. I like the dry brushing of the dark surfaces you did. Thanks!

OMG! So creative and I loved the video! Can I ask how long the animal sculptures took to dry and what color brown paint you used ? I love that it gives the sculptures an old world look:) I subscribed to your channel.

Thank you! It usually takes 2-3 days to dry before I can start painting them. I use dark brown, sometimes black acrylic paint first before the other colors.

Krásná práce :)......moc prosím o odkaz na hmotu z které tvoříte. Snad jí i u nás seženu, děkuji :)
how much work time do you have with that kind of clay?
@craftynatsky
Жыл бұрын
Depending on the thickness, air dry clay takes around 24-48 hrs to dry. When I sculpt, I wait for each part/layer to dry before I add another one.
LIKE👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 😇😇😇😇
