Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

My 19 Gas RAV4 LE AWD has had zero issues at 118k miles, knock on wood. I’ve had zero recalls. A very low percentage of Tundra engines have failed. It’s less than one tenth of one percent. The new Toyotas are actually better.

I can tell you from owning a trucking company and owning 37 trucks on the road at one time for 35 years that changing the oil that comes in an engine at 1000 miles is the smart way to do things, regardless, if the engine is diesel or gasoline, everybody should do that to get rid of any Shaving that is left from assembling the engine, I’ve done that on my 22 tundra at 1K, 3K, 6K and 10k, and now I change the oil every 5000 miles without fail regardless what the dealer have advised me that Toyota recommend. On a TwinTurbo engine, the oil loose viscosity much quicker than normally aspirated engine . I have 21,000 miles on the truck now and the engine runs like a champ. Change the oil folks this is like the blood in your veins. engine failure. I’m not saying that Toyota didn’t screw up, but if you have changed the oil before all that debris ran through the rings nothing would have happened to the engine.

The first law is to avoid completely redesigned vehicles in the first two or three years of production. I doubt they'll go for a long block as Toyota doesn't sell then that way and unless there's damage to the heads he'll probably end up getting a short block.

Especially with a redesigned car, waiting a few years can be smart. On the engine, you're right, Toyota usually goes with short blocks. Hopefully, the damage is limited to the block and the heads can be reused.

There is a chap that check the spec sheets of a toyota engine that had 5W30 on the oil cap (might be 0W30) vs the same engine with 0W20 on the oil cap. The main bearing clearences are the same. So would it make sense for owners to put in 0W30 toyota engine oil for these new tundra?. Then replace with Toyota engine oil & filter every 5000 miles. Cut open the used oil canister with proper cutter, not using an angle grinder, and check for metal debris?. Might make sense to install a engine oil pressure sensor and pull it to a display gauge on the dashboard?. Main bearings, for most cars or trucks, when worn down quite a bit, will drop engine oil pressure by 5psi during hot idling but will not yet trigger the engine oil low pressure switch?.

Techs fight to stay away from this type of work. LOL to you... "why would the truck never be the same"... it will never be the same. clips will be missing. bolts will not be torqued to spec... gaskets will be misaligned. Hasn't been in routine service for more than 2 hours at a time, as scheduled. I always changed my oil at 5K or before. Other fluids will always changed at 20K to 30K, depending. I've towed up to 12K with it without issue. As a matter of fact, I think it performed better under load. Too bad Toyota went to these stupid twin turbo 6 cylinder pieces of junk. Want a Tundra? You don't necessarily need a whole new truck to get that new truck feeling back. Lemon laws can be helpful, but coverage periods vary by state. In some cases, trading in the truck after repairs might be an option, though the trade-in value might be affected. If the repairs are covered under warranty and the wait time isn't excessive, getting the engine replaced might be the most practical solution.
