If I buy any new vehicle it needs to last 10 years without problems. Only tires, filters, fluids.

My 19 Gas RAV4 LE AWD has had zero issues at 118k miles, knock on wood. I’ve had zero recalls. A very low percentage of Tundra engines have failed. It’s less than one tenth of one percent. The new Toyotas are actually better.
A man posted the picture of his 2022 Toyota Tundra going to the dealership for the 3rd time for a very frustrating reason. His truck has only 49,000 miles and it needs the 3rd engine replacement. kzread.info/dash/bejne/dndnmZSPZLTfYc4.html

I can tell you from owning a trucking company and owning 37 trucks on the road at one time for 35 years that changing the oil that comes in an engine at 1000 miles is the smart way to do things, regardless, if the engine is diesel or gasoline, everybody should do that to get rid of any Shaving that is left from assembling the engine, I’ve done that on my 22 tundra at 1K, 3K, 6K and 10k, and now I change the oil every 5000 miles without fail regardless what the dealer have advised me that Toyota recommend. On a TwinTurbo engine, the oil loose viscosity much quicker than normally aspirated engine . I have 21,000 miles on the truck now and the engine runs like a champ. Change the oil folks this is like the blood in your veins. engine failure. I’m not saying that Toyota didn’t screw up, but if you have changed the oil before all that debris ran through the rings nothing would have happened to the engine.
Toyota is not giving you a new truck if this is first incident

Diminished value….I see a class action law suit in Toyotas future. Who would want any repaired truck with a recall? Toyota is no longer a trusted brand. What a mess.
The first law is to avoid completely redesigned vehicles in the first two or three years of production. I doubt they'll go for a long block as Toyota doesn't sell then that way and unless there's damage to the heads he'll probably end up getting a short block.
@Torquenews

Especially with a redesigned car, waiting a few years can be smart. On the engine, you're right, Toyota usually goes with short blocks. Hopefully, the damage is limited to the block and the heads can be reused.

Porsche AG has been down this very "Engine Replacement" road. .. The MY99 thru '04 911 (996) Carrera's .... A large percentage of the series 996 cars had "Full-On complete engine" replacements. .. Porsche AG shipped thousands of crate 996 engines to USA dealerships for warranty engine replacements. .. Been there, done that. .. P.S., The MY99 thru 2004 Boxster cars were also affected. ..
Anyone wonder why the Lexus LS500(since 2018)and Lx600 with a variant of this engine don’t have any issues whatsoever?

What about all the problems and defects with Cybertruck? Toytoa is doing well with its hybrid vehicles. So he had to find something negative about Toyota to get clicks and salvage sagging $Tesla stocks.
There is a chap that check the spec sheets of a toyota engine that had 5W30 on the oil cap (might be 0W30) vs the same engine with 0W20 on the oil cap. The main bearing clearences are the same. So would it make sense for owners to put in 0W30 toyota engine oil for these new tundra?. Then replace with Toyota engine oil & filter every 5000 miles. Cut open the used oil canister with proper cutter, not using an angle grinder, and check for metal debris?. Might make sense to install a engine oil pressure sensor and pull it to a display gauge on the dashboard?. Main bearings, for most cars or trucks, when worn down quite a bit, will drop engine oil pressure by 5psi during hot idling but will not yet trigger the engine oil low pressure switch?.
I will never own anything with a turbo or a supercharger on it. And direct injection, if it only has that, I can pass on that too. It has to have port injection with the direct injection or port injection alone. Ten and fifteen year old cars and trucks are looking better every day.
What's going on with the Toyota I'm afraid that GX 4Runner the new one Sequoia will have issues they mess this all up in my opinion come on Toyota wake up stop engineering b******* design go back to V8

@Torquenews Of course, they are not obligated. They're basically a middle man. That's why I said make a deal with them. Dealerships don't want drama , they'd rather trade you out of the vehicle than the customer giving them bad reviews or slam them on social media.
Once people here this and they don’t want to fix that problem he can start protesting Toyota dealers in a real place they wouldn’t like that that’s what I would do if they left me hanging and I bought a brand new truck and this is the first year they change the motor and put a supercharger in it and people are not happy about that especially when there’s videos online when you hear about Toyota Tacoma‘s going 1,000,000 miles Toyota actually gave my guy a brand new truck because they wanted to back engineer in find out why the motors last so long 👍👍👍👍 but there’s actually a lot of people online that put 1,000,000 miles on their Toyotas
Only the engine blew up not the entire truck.

Why? The tech gets 30 hours to do this job at the warranty rate which is lower than the standard repair rate. The tech has to cut corners to do the job in as little time as possible. Techs fight to stay away from this type of work. LOL to you... "why would the truck never be the same"... it will never be the same. clips will be missing. bolts will not be torqued to spec... gaskets will be misaligned. Advice needs to be unpinned by the specifics of the applicable lemon law. Outside of this it’s framed by the implied warranty and goodwill
@Torquenews

Great point. Getting into an accident with a brand new car is a terrible feeling. While lemon law wouldn't apply here, definitely check your manufacturer's warranty and reach out to the dealership for guidance on the repair process. Hopefully, they can work with you to get your Sonata back on the road quickly.
This is why I just bought a 2023 Toyota Tacoma TRD because I wanted the 6 cylinder in the tundras had the eight cylinders look up Tacoma beast there is a guy on there one of his Call for friends because they’re big into over landing but, beast and the online company but these guys do everything to Toyota trucks and I just watched it the other day he was having a conversation about the four-cylinder turbo I mean supercharged Tacoma and the things that the guy was saying about it would scare me if I spend that kind of money for that truck is why I wouldn’t even mess with that four-cylinder supercharger or that six-cylinder supercharged Toyota motors there Messing up the brand by doing that Definitely check out Tacoma beast and listen to what the guy says it has the Tacoma with the fortune island or supercharger the things he says about it
I made 68 trips from San Antonio to North Wilkesboro, NC, in my 5.7L 2014 1794 Edition Tundra. Never one hiccup. Not one. 290K miles. Hasn't been in routine service for more than 2 hours at a time, as scheduled. I always changed my oil at 5K or before. Other fluids will always changed at 20K to 30K, depending. I've towed up to 12K with it without issue. As a matter of fact, I think it performed better under load. Too bad Toyota went to these stupid twin turbo 6 cylinder pieces of junk. Want a Tundra? Buy one with a 5.7L V8, regardless of miles.
LEMONADE
Need to buy a new truck to get the new truck. That's how this works. There are "Lemon Laws" but i think are only good for 90 Days. If the insurance company totals the vehicle that would be different tho and given complexity of modern electronics not as far fetched as seems.
@Torquenews
Ай бұрын
You don't necessarily need a whole new truck to get that new truck feeling back. Lemon laws can be helpful, but coverage periods vary by state. In some cases, trading in the truck after repairs might be an option, though the trade-in value might be affected. If the repairs are covered under warranty and the wait time isn't excessive, getting the engine replaced might be the most practical solution.
I fear they don't know why the failures. If they knew they would share the information and how they corrected it.
