Iam actually glad with the commercialization of sports in india not only in cricket but football, kabadi badminton etc and it should increase even more imo... obviously like most countries one sport is going to dominate the nation but still Several years ago i was reading this article about American sports business and the massive amount they generate from its commercialization and how it helped them grow the overall sports in the country, i hope india does something like that as well

Still ISL is running in losses This is only because of FSDL(Jointly owned by reliance foundation and AIFF) and Starsports(No preference for ISL ,Only IPL, cricket highlights during all over year Commercialization is not good for all sports

Tesla's spending on advertisement is actually zero. Their main focus and spending is on R&D. Their cars are so good that various user advertise this car on various forum without any charge to Tesla. Then on the top is Elon Musk who is their biggest brand ambassador. His one simple tweet is enough advertisement for their car.

I think IPL and cricket has still a long way to go, compared to football. We can earn even more. For example, most of my friends are football fans. Every ManUnited match, and they lock themseves in their houses, even take leave just to watch the game. Some of them have even been to Europe just for the football. Now I want that to happen with cricket. Imagine a white american rooting for MI and a middle eastern coming all the way from Dubai to India to watch KKR play! Foreign investment, tourism, soft power and all.... We should not do with cricket, to what we did with bollywood.

India is a fast growing economy with growing gdp purchasing power of people also raises and india will become a leading market for major brands across the world and with crickets popularity in india ipl seems to be a perfect platform for those brands to advertise their products. With increase in income levels even more people will start spending on entertainment. So 7000cr is a good bet on ipl team.

Even that 25 crore from ahmedabad stadium is from 1 match ticket revenue only.
