6am to 6pm - It's Garbage Day in the City of L.A.

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Here is 25 minutes of miscellaneous clips I've taken of the City of LA's Bureau of Sanitation refuse trucks over the past year or so. All the clips were filmed from around 6 in the morning til' 5:40pm in the evening.
Living and travelling through the city'c collection routes nearly everyday, it's inevitable that I will video a few clips of trucks here and there especially if there is something unique about them. I really suggest everyone watches the whole thing - or else you'll miss some goodies!
In this compilation there are trucks featured from all 6 District yards: Harbor, West Los Angeles, South Los Angeles, North Central, West and East Valley.
Enjoy, share, like, and subscribe!

L.A. Sanitation does a good job cleaning up around the city that's for sure! Awesome compilation! It was nice to see more of those 2000 Octos!

Holy moly! Such a great compilation here Eli! When I first heard 36802 Iwas like "No freaking way! That beast is just unbelievable!" Hopefully the muffler on that beast sounds just as good, maybe better than when you filmed it. I certainly hope so! I'd hate to hear that truck's been quieted down. You know me, I'm a sucker for loud amazing sounding beasts!

Haha I'll be honest, it's odd for me to see an LA truck out past noon. Think I can attribute that to Will making me think at a young age that most LA drivers finish at 10 (which obviously isn't the case lol). Crazy that some of these clips were taken so late in the day! Definitely wouldn't have guessed the truck at 3:00 was LA if I was driving past and saw that view lol I'm always shocked at how filthy their tailgates get, and honestly, I don't recall any other company around here having trucks with tailgates that dirty. Cool to see 195 on that crazy steep street, fun to watch that haha New truck at 6:03 was pretty cool. Looks great clean and love watching LA trucks collect those 96 black Rehrigs for some reason. I guess it seems like most people have 64 for trash so the rare 96 is neat to see for me. Always enjoy seeing the bulk trucks. That Peterbilt Octo sure is cool. Love how it looks and brings back memories of Pete Octo FLs that ran around my area from multiple companies. Ooooh 013 was cool. I still can't believe those are still around haha love how they look though so really glad. Truck at 24:00 was awesome, love those old ellipticals with the solid green tailgate. Great compilation!

Thanks man! You would be surprised how late some yards run. South LA, West LA, and East Valley are a few off the top of my head that do afternoon collections regularly. Most Tuesday's I'll see a truck leaving its route around 4:30-5 near where I live. Yeah West and East valley's trucks get super dirty from driving on "rural"ish dirt roads and dumping at the Sunshine Cyn Landfill. 96 Rehrigs seems to be getting more popular among residents in LA despite the extra charge each month. Our Volvo and WhiteGMC front loaders are due to be replaced any month now, so they don't have much time till the new ones arrive. Thank you again for the comment!

It would be cool to see a vid with the stop with the oTTo and rehrigs get picked up by an octo where all the paper flies out of the cart when he brings it back down. It’s that vine or whatever.

Amazing video Eli! I liked every truck in this video! Watching 218 makes me wish that the 00' Full Size trucks were still around, 802 was nice to see throughout the video as well, I wish they kept the muffler as throaty like when it did your place. 758 is so cool, does it still do recycling on your street, I wanna catch it someday. Damn I forgot how violent 483 was when the 4 of us caught it this day, I wish they kept 483 like that. 195 was struggling up that hill lmao, a dual fuel would've zoomed up that hill ;). Nice to see footage of 350 running late. Damn 830 was slamming cans really good, does 917 belong to you guys or does it just help out? Nice to see 530 in those alleys, 654 had a nice pace, seems like SLA is serious about taking good care of their old trucks, I notice that because none of the Octos on my most recent trip to SLA were sunbleached, neither is 654. 283 is always fun to watch. Lol whenever I see the new trucks in this video I always wish that they never become dirty, 724 was nice. I love the looks of 778. 636 was fucking crazy! I need to head to West Valley soon! 013 on dumpster was very cool, they should keep that truck on dumpsters, it's arms went flying up when it started revving! Fantastic job on filming 328 and 870. Great work Eli!

Thanks man. 758 stopped doing recycling on my route long ago. I don't know where it goes now. Haha yeah 483 was super violent. 350 runs late on a regular basis for some reason and usually is out past 5. 917 is kept at South LA because WLA doesn't have an LNG fueling station, but does bulky in WLA territory every day. 654 was nice but I probably won't be going to film in SLA anytime soon. Much more of 013 is soon to come my friend :)

Awesome video!! Wow, I have never seen a LABOS truck out after 3:30. Wow, East Valley got some pretty dirty trucks out on the road especially newer ones. Really miss the oldies. Wow at 4:48 don't understand why full size trucks are put to do those steep hills. Love the new truck at 6:00. Too bad it won't be like that for very long since it collects trash. Love the truck at 4:23! How old was it when you filmed it? What a zippy arm at 16:25?!?! Man, that must have been a pretty entertaining truck to film. Really love the Pete Amrep Octo at 16:54. How many does LA have so far? You gotta love trucks pack out especially on holiday trash!! 36328 and to be really entertaining for a newer Peterbit Amrep. Man, these oldie take you back from when you are a little kid. What yard do you think has the best trucks? This had to be the best LABOS compilation seen from you! All the truck were awesome. Great video!

Thank you! West LA stays out late on a regular basis. I filmed 802 just a few months ago. Those trucks are going on 11-12 years old. Yeah that truck free fell a lot. LA has two of those Pete Octo FLs, 994 and 995. I think West Valley has the best trucks since they rev and freefall. I'm glad you enjoyed it ;)

I have always wondered! Are sub drivers a part time job, or is it someone who works in the facility and is flexible enough to fill in the designated route? And also, do you know how long training for a job like this lasts? A driver told me it was only a few weeks, but, every city is different.

There are no part timers ....only emergency exempt driver positions which are given for one year only...usually you need prior work experience to get a job ..but if you start at the bottom you can promote...city will help you get your license..

Nice video! Is 195 unable to flip lids? Also disappointed at the truck at 10:52, no lid flips. :( 12:03, cool to see an Athens black bin on the far right! 13:00, nooo! Lid had to close. 16:36, #636 was really cool! 17:30, why did you cut the clip (not angry, but curious)? 19:57, again the lid had to close. 21:39, 328 is not good at lid flipping. :( It seems to have an auto-slow down mechanism. 23:27, seriously? Why couldn't the arm let the bin fall violently like with the previous bin? Again, :(. But anyways, those are my reactions to this video, and despite some non-lid flips, this is a great compilation of trucks. The latest I've seen a truck working is about 5:40, and I filmed that truck in SLA. Nice work!
