My primary school had a Pentium 4 from 2009-2011 and a core i3 with HD graphics from 2012-2014, I remember running Minecraft on the core i3 with like 30fps....ah the days. Now my current school have a core i5 or i7 in some classrooms with AMD HD 6500....such unbalance

Yeah! I was thinking of this while I was looking at the video, in fact for 69 you can also get some joysticks an SD card a power connector (or just use your phone) and just install retropie with a bunch of roms! you can even play PS1

Minesweeper can run >100 FPS in CGA resolution on this gaming rig. GTA 5 in 1080p is almost 1 FPS.

I remember game demos. My family was signed up basically all of them. That way we could demo a game and if we liked it enough then they would buy the real game, that way we didn’t waste money on a game we end up not likening or never plays. I miss those.

This could be interesting with GeForce now installed on it

I really like Ash being in more videos. Linus is always like "get this new $4,000 laptop" but Ash is so old school getting great deals and building cheap PCs. You go ASH!

I've got my 7700k in a purple and white S340 elite case with a 1080. I had to use a 1050 ti after i first built the computer because i couldn't afford the 1080 yet. But I've got one, now in a year or so when I get my money back right I'll just buy another. I wonder if anyone has SLI a TI with a regular 1080 and what kind of performance they got with it. Unfortunately SLI support is hit and miss. So I'll probably just get a TI model and use it as my main driver. My nzxt purchase will be a NZXT Hue to make the case glow. And I've only got a 212 evo on the cpu right now. Eventually gonna do custom loops but again, I'm having to build it piece by piece.

@@motorhh Intel currently has a market cap of about 2.5x that of AMD, and they just got an exclusive Pentagon contract. If they weren't afraid of being branded as a monopoly, they might just try to buy AMD. Don't get me wrong, AMD has been utterly thrashing Intel for about 3 years now in the price/performance bracket, but Intel is still just a better connected company with tons of long-term contracts and a better reputation among the boomers and Gen-Xers that head most of the largest companies because of just how important they were from the very beginning of the concept of the PC.

there must be a stereotype for Dell Optiplex PCs lol, I actually have a Dell Optiplex GX620 tower desktop (used to have XP, now windows 7, worst mistake I could do b/c now it's sluggish with the simplest of programs), and someone I know has a mini-desktop that's also a Dell Optiplex, forgot the model, but it's also slow, but still works. XD

oh wait, I might've misinterpreted it lol. I guess Dell Optiplex PCs aren't terrible. Mine, that had windows xp at first, now windows 7, runs minecraft, with integrated graphics, but can't go past Minecraft version 1.9.4 because it crashes and says "old graphics card detected. This may prevent you from playing in the future as OpenGL 2.0 will be required" (I'm guessing, that it means that my Dell Optiplex has very old graphics, it is an intel chipset GPU, integrated graphics, sooooooo). And btw, that is not what I use now. I have a much better desktop and laptop. I just have it for nostalgia purposes. And I also got an old windows XP PC from a friend of mine and that brings back nostalgia like never before for me. (windows xp on an old gateway PC years ago was the first PC I ever used and I was a younger child then, not even 10 years old, but the PC unfortunately died, if I knew as much about PCs as I do now I probably could've fixed it, I wish we still had it, it almost makes me sad knowing that it was the first ever PC I used and that so many people myself included, love Windows XP to this day)

@@tristinyaeger9222 is it in USD currency? If so, HOW THAT CHEAP? XD My HP desktop has a Geforce GT 710 GPU, was $50 at one point, it's probably less, and I added 4GB DDR3 RAM to it. It's an HP Elite 8000 SFF, google it. They're pretty common. The one I got has a Core 2 Duo I think, had 4 GB DDR3 RAM, now with 4 more added for a total of 8, and a 250 GB HDD. BTW, what 9 series card is it? My GPU I think would be considered a GT 7 series card, since it's a GeForce GT 710 (btw, it has 2GB GDDR5 memory). Even with probably one of the cheapest GPUs, somehow it still runs Fortnite, lol, and Minecraft easily.

I agree, but also the ham and cheese, while very basic, is an excellent classic that must not be underestimated. You can grill it, you can fry it, you can eat it plain, but the ham and cheese is a staple of sandwich culture. Another, more off-beat style of sandwich is a meatloaf and swiss. Slice some meatloaf, add some swiss and a little mustard (sourdough and rye are two recommended breads), toast that baby for a bit and you've got yourself a dynamite sandwich right there

Im building a 6gb ram ic3 pc from a crappy intel laptop. All from salvaged parts. Totally got asthma from the sheer quantity of dust in the fan.

I mean the dell optioned thing is LITERALLY exactly what my pc is, it’s dell optioned 760 that I chucked a 750 card in

I was so dissapointed when he said that tf2 couldn't run. I've never seen anyone do tf2 for benchmarking and I was so excited when Linus mentioned it. But alas, the $69 computer wasn't able to handle it.

watching in 2021 I'm using a Dell Optiplex for my HTPC, but it's from the era of this video.

Why did I think Linus painted his nails when someone put the ram into the motherboard. I took a double take there for a sec. 😂

RandomGaminginHD is a very good budget build channel. His builds are really cool, cheap, and I very much recommend it to anyone looking for cheaper PC builds.

Amid the graphics card shortage i found a pc in the dump with a i7 860, 8gb ram, GTX 560 ti, 500gb hdd and 700W psu. And it all works!! I have main system which I am waiting to finish for 5 months with a 5950x, 64gb ram and RTX 3080

i bought a dell optiplex through a 600w evga psu in, bought a rx570, and put 8gb more ram to total up to 16gb of ddr3, as well as a sata ssd and it has served me well for about $450

got an exam in 7 hours and haven't slept yet and I'm watching this at 1am what am I doing with my life
