Man everything about this car looks so... short-lifespan-ish (I don't know if there's a word for it). From the screens to the exterior to the seats. Totally the opposite of 90's 1.6L N/A econoboxes. I'm waiting for EVs to grow up a little more. Right now I have a Lexus hybrid that while it isn't the most modern on the inside, it looks and feels like it could last many more years. Following all this EV news, it does seem to be that solidly buyable products will come out from 2025 or so.

Honestly, the exterior looks like something out of RoboCop. It’s a good thing, the interior more than makes up for it.

Those interior lights would be the first thing I would switch off...they're like an amusement arcade!

Referring to the steering wheel: I like the design but I don't like the touch elements. I actually drove the new eqe recently and I would rather choose real buttons cause it gives you more response on your actions.

Very nice video, thanks. I am not 100% sold on the shape of the car, but in this AMG trim and paint color, it looks pretty bad ass!! Highlight of the car is the interior, that's a space ship all right :-). Space ship sounds are included. Did you ever drive the I4 M50 before, how does the sound - Hans Zimmer - compare to the AMG? Of course, these things are subjective, but I would like hear your opinion if you have driven them..

I experienced the sound in person in the beginning it super cool but after some time you get used to it and it kinda annoys you so you just turn it off. Depends on what kind of person you are but I like the AMG sound experience 🙌🏼

The HUD is about my biggest keeper IMO. Tesla's minimalist layout and tech presentation is more in line of Future vs EQ layout is still so similar to "traditional"...that works for those that like familiarity.

The Performance sound is beautiful, like the cars in cyberpunk 2077. Amazing

The AMG version used to cost moe because of the engine upgrade, transmission, exhaust, suspension, different bodywork and wheels tires. Now it’s $16k for just a different bumper and some trim. Not a mind-blowing deal and a bit overpriced. It’s more in line with the AMG appearance package in the regular models. But you know that..

This is what a modern car dash should look like. If it's too much for some people I am sure they have options to dumb it down and turn stuff off. I would definitely turn the seat and trim LEDs off. No need for sound effects either.

Strange. The US eqe53 amg version on their build site doesn't show the hyper screen - only the normal E series screen similar to what is on the C class. Is that a bug on the MB site?

Different markets, different options. Some markets have the hyperscreen standard, others do not.

The US only has one AMG EQE and it appears to be the 53. The other thing that's annoying is that Mercedes doesn't offer the Hyperscreen in the AMG EQE, at least according to their website.

Coolest interor EVER!

Granted, been a huge Tesla fan but man, I'll point out what I like and so forth. Love that grey paint job on the exterior and the fact the door handles have accent lights, too! The all-screen view is just futuristic looking and nuts! The sounds are good too and as you said you have the option to turn them off or put them into those cool modes. Even though it's pointless, the RGB fan in me loves the seat accents too. The steering wheel definitely looks a little *too* busy for my tastes but the upside is that everything does still have buttons and feedback. What a sporty car!

I think the steering wheel is one of the most beautiful steering wheels ever made by Mb. Reminds me of the old classic wheels from fifties.

I'm watching all these new car videos and the part that strikes me the most is how 90% of the time Tesla is always mentioned as either the benchmark to beat or just mentioned in general. I remember when Tesla was such a small company their product barely made any impact. Now Tesla has forced an entire industry to not only invest in a sustainable future but to rethink how they do business by putting out high quality, industry leading safety benchmarks and just overall fun products with all its cool software, crazy speed, self driving and supercharger network! Society has realized Tesla has a better ecosystem than any other car company in the world and the numbers don't lie! The reality of it all is that all these Auto legacy companies are building First Generation EV's. Some are doing it with cheap batteries and you can tell by how much capacity the batteries has and it's ranges, Tesla Model Y can get 330 miles with a 81kw battery($13.77-$15) on average for full charge, this car has 90.1 kw and is barely scratching 300 miles, that lack of efficiency will hurt this vehicle in the long run and makes a Tesla a better option in my opinion, because range anxiety is real with inefficient electric vehicle!!! Being a first generation vehicle, expect many issues and definitely expect 1st year battery degradation (range loss) usually 5-7% of the battery capacity on Tesla vehicles, much higher on other manufacturers vehicles and the impact winter has on the range is real and all ev's are plagued by this!!! These are the main issues all ev's have and Tesla has figured out ways to be less impacted by them. I would rather buy an EV from a company that is the leader in the space and not from one that is using me to establish their new products, I'm not a beta tester, no matter how cool it looks!

Here in Ireland 🇮🇪. My brother is salesman in a Mercedes dealership and he has sold a few EQS but without the hyper screen . They don’t look as well without it, but here it’s a €17000 option 😂

Great video. Gorgeous interior, but not a fan of the new steering wheel. The prior-gen AMG steering wheel is much better looking, and it’s better overall with physical buttons, which I prefer.

I have exactly this model on order, apart from the Magno paint. I opted for the Graphite Grey metallic instead. I'm so excited I could shit myself. September can't come quickly enough.

i assume this two blinkin dots in the monitor in a long trip not good for eyes even if you dont see them, and both sounds are crazy, i cant imagine 4h trip with any of this sound ;(

Thanks. Really interesting. Regarding the steering wheel, I have an EQS and it looks like you have the same volume slider. You cannot press it up or down you have to slide. It is so unresponsive. Why can the not put. a silver wheel there? It would look better as well.

Totally agree. I loved the feel of the previous volume button and got used to it, the latest slider and touchpad looks clean but on a daily usage it’s just terrible. Do you also have the Hyperscreen? How do you like it?

I was going to get the EQS AMG, but this video makes me thing the EQe is a better value in general. In this area, it will be the only EQ anyways, so no need to outshine anybody lol

Agree mate... I have spent a week with this beast (the test car had the Dynamic Plus Package that gives you extra power and torque, total of 560 Kw/750 HP and 1020 Nm, 0-100 in 3.4 sec) but I hated the sounds... just like a video game or Star Trek... I would get the real AMG with the traditional 6.3 L V8 any day!

Why did they not go the same screen material as the ayria it doesnt attrack finger prints.

I am a 35 year old man from England, from Northern England, that currently makes shit money lol! I couuld never afford to buy this car. HOWEVER, I am also interviewing and will be on good money again in the future! So a car like this could be a possibility one day, brand new as well. The thing is with electric cars, is that the government says 'no more non-electric cars after 2030', or whatever the date is. Being forced into buying an electric car, (even if like this one) leaves a sour taste in your mouth. What I think Merc has done here though is created a car that would make people want to buy electric, rather than petrol. I thought all electric cars are stupid, not proper cars, etc. But that silence and putting your foot down to the ZOOOOM sounding sound, actually sounds amazing! It has the power and looks amazing from the inside with all the lights. This car actually does look like the future and looks amazing as if the future is going to be great. Very impressed with this car would love to have one would be like driving around in the future. But I have a 1.6 Astra LOL! So even a shitty 3 series that's old would be better than mine to be honest. In terms of dreaming though and if you had the money what would you choose. I would probably choose this over a BMW 140i... and the only reason for 'probably', is because petrol cars won't be around forever because the government is stopping Germans making them... if there was no limits on petrol production cars & so they'd be produced alongside eachother until manufacturers deem them not necessary to produce due to the general public wanting to buy electric (which would probably be the case), then I'd choose this. It's a fantastic car honestly this is an amazing vid.

But I gotta say it is impressive for one though. I'll stick to my old 2014 C63 coupe though 😉 ain't nothin like the sound of that

That blinking light is infrared that the camera is picking up. You don't see it, it helps the car see you and lets it monitor you for fatigue while you're driving... can't remember if that's it or if it does anything else.
