A later model steering box will make the steering feel tighter. The early boxes always felt "mushy" for lack of a better word. The 68-72 boxes were 4 1/2 turns lock to lock, the 73- IIRC about 86 boxes are variable ratio and 3 1/2 turns LTL. There some fitting differences but the nut on the back of the pump is removeable and you can swap to the one you need or have a local Hyd shop make your hoses. The later suspension also will bolt up with a little wallowing of one hole on each side to give you disc brakes and cheaper tie rod, ball joints and bushings. Also the later front sway bar is a bolt on as long as you get the frame brackets . Just some ideas for what I have done to my 68.

Yes it runs rough at the beginning and is definitely having issues… that’s the whole point of the video. We make changes and at 8:04 it starts up great and sounds awesome. It’s not missing at the end of the video if you want to go back and see that part 👍

@@dutsmiller it also sounds off like the compression is low or valves are open.... it's not running right at all in this video

We went with a carburetor because it’s a 1968 and we wanted to keep it old school and also wanted to be different with our ls swap. When the carb is dialed in correctly you can’t match the throttle response with a throttle body. Carburetors offer great performance if tuned correctly. Thanks for watching!

No… that was towards the middle. I’m talking about at 8:04 when it started up without any starter fluid and sounded awesome
