Im an OT and when I write paper notes they have to start with "therapist introduced, consent gained" and usually it dosent fit on one line so like 50% of the time I end up writing "The-rapist introduced consent gained" and I think of this episode every time 😭😂

I knew a kid that couldnt hold it the quarter mile to my house while we were out skateboarding and he just pulled his pants down and shit right behind a church sign as all the congregation showed up and wiped his ass with leaves with people looking at him. It was one of the most absurd sights in my entire life I was crying laughing on the other side of the parking lot

My favorite little line in this episode is when they're talking about milksteak and he says "she'll know what it is", like they're targeting one specific woman 😆

i gotta say all jokes aside, i don't think i've ever come across a podcast that captures the feeling of 3 really close friends just shooting the shit like this podcast does. no other podcast makes me feel like i'm at the table enjoying the fun and energy. especially after just moving halfway across the country to start a new life and knowing nobody out here in Texas. this podcast is legendary.

Look, IASIP is honestly one of my favourite shows, but fuck me even as a Brit. I'm sick of hearing about Wrexham for several minutes most podcasts. I mean, we only get (roughly) a third of the podcast actually dedicated to the episode, a third for general discussion and a third talking about a football/soccer team. Them discussing the actual episodes is usually far more entertaining so I thank you for the time stamps.

Also if you go to Liverpool, there's a building near the docks that's got two liver birds on it, one facing out to sea and the other facing into the city. The legend is that the one facing out is the wife waiting for her husband to return from sea, and the one looking in is the husband looking for the nearest bar when he gets back!

I had to log in just to repond to this, "lifer" was an old English word with two meanings, "liver" like the organ, but also an adoption from the Latin word "laver" meaning water plant, which is a word we still use to mean seaweed, there is evidently a meal called Laverbread in Wales. That's according to wiktionary, Wikipedia says Lifer means "thick clotted water", but one could see how a word meaning the plant specifically might have led to the word being understood as a pond filled with the plant. And pool just means pool

I feel like season 5 is one of the seasons I watch over and over. Everything felt so natural, snappy. Quotes galore.

I think it would be really funny if the guys reenacted a scene with other characters, or swapped roles. great comedy potential

Y'know, maybe this is from growing up on Scooby Doo (and later on fallout) but I always thought of ghouls as being some sort of zombie-ish, non-ghost, supernatural monster. They hit the nail on the head with goblins though lol.

Listen, everybody knows that Meg brings that cohesion that makes the podcast the podcast, but there’s so much to be said about just these 3 dudes talking about life.

The word Scouser derives from the dish "scouse" which is based on a Norwegian dish "lobscouse" introduced by sailors to Liverpool. The dish consisted of anything left in the ships pantry, which was all thrown into the stew. The dish today is basically an irish stew usually consisting of beef or lamb, potatoes, carrots, leeks, cabbage and other root vegetables.

​@@nickg1743 Well, it took them about 1 and a half years to get their first promotion, from a division where there are less promotion spots available, and they went close in their first season to achieving that. In the division they've gone into there are going to be 4 promotion spots up for grabs to go up to the next one, and then if they get there there will be 3 promotions spots to get up to the next one and if they get up there there is 3 promotion spots up to the next division, which is the premier league. Yep, divisions get tougher, but I'm sure they're in it to get promotions and they're willing to invest further, below the premier league most clubs aren't really spending any big money if at all. 5/6 years and they're in the prem, they're going to do a Fulham when they were taken over by Muhammad Al Fayed, they were a mediocre team in division 3 (now known as league 2, which they have just been promoted to) and in about 4/5 years they reached the premier league. It's been done before mate, so I don't know why it's "impossible".

It became a popular term for people from Liverpool because it was a very poor town/city and Scouse is a super cheap meal to make. My family always called Scouse "Lobbies", which I now know is from the Lob part of Lobscouse! I still make a huge pan of Scouse every couple of weeks and portion it up and stick it in the freezer. You can make enough for 6 or 7 portions for about £3!

As a scouser myself I’ve never heard us talked about so much by three of my favourite actors 😂

This is one of the best sunny episodes, or at least one of my favorites. One of the most referenced too. The dating profile ad is timeless. The writing in this one is just gold!!

Loved the Wrexham chat. So interesting to get Charlie and Glenn's take on the whole situation

I can tell Glenn was dying to talk about Robs Stye after all the praise Charlie gave him for his award. Glenn is the type of friend that no matter what your accomplishments, always find a way to put you down lol never change Glenn

I remember seeing the trailer for Welcome to Wrexham and thought the whole idea of Ryan and Rob buying a team was interesting, but never actually watched the series. Now seeing that they won and reading more about the team and the town's story, I'm definitely going to watch it now. Seems like a great underdog story to follow.

Charlie’s concept of ghouls sounds a lot more like little house-elves & brownies which is hilarious in itself that there’s some kind of mythological precedence for that

How did it devolve so quickly to take away Rob McElhenney's achievement? Are they just their Sunny characters? 😂

Always Sunny was already my favourite comedy show (sit com or not) period, before the podcast. But the genuine friendship and love Rob, Charlie, and Glenn (as well as the rest of the cast) have for each other and the craft - made me admire and respect each of them so much more. I have been anticipating watching both BlackBerry and Fool's Paradise ever since I knew they were coming out. Watched Champions also, and loved it. Y'all are too good for Hollywood and so humble and genuine.

I can't believe we got through this episode without mentioning the philanthropist gag. That's one of the biggest laughs in the entire series.

Charlie, Glenn, Rob, Megan, and everyone in Sunny y’all are talented and wonderful . We are fortunate to get to witness y’all’s successes and humor!

Glen saying "da club" over and over again was hilarious

Hearing you guys speak about Liverpool, Liverpudlians and Scousers- as a Scouser- is a very satisfying surreal experience. Also Glenn is right is does sound like someone who deals with a pool, we might adopt that as the real reason. Sure others will point out but as a port city Liverpool has many immigrant peoples and visitors and it comes from a Norwegian dish, lobscouse, a kind of stew that evryone still eats, but was a staple definitely through wartime and post war rationing.

My favorite scene in the whole show is the dating profile scene. I almost passed out the first time I saw that. I repeated it so many times I got a cramp right on the stomach and couldn't breathe for like 30 seconds.

I love that there's a backstory to the "ghouls" joke.

these podcasts are low key so therapeudic. like talking abt rejection and realizations that come with age, and life as an entertainer. so relatable as a young musician and really helpful for me emotionally. thanks guys for keeping it real!

Yoooo sunny! CONTINUITY ERROR!!! Spotted it in S4 E7 paddy’s pub: the worst bar in Philadelphia. At the end of the episode whilst reading the new review in the newspaper Charlies hammer isn’t on the counter and then appears on the counter, it disappears again and then when the gang goes to ‘chat’ to Cormen again he grabs the hammer from behind the bar. I hated this mistake and it made me neglect the show resulting in me rewatching it constantly for the last 6 ish years. Don’t stop sunny until the very last person dies please

I love when podcasts lean in to mocking the ads. The advertisers win every time. I think most of us would 100% rather listen to them mock “boner pills” or Burr sing about “meUndies” than drone on about whatever the product actually is. I rarely skip an ad read if they make me chuckle. 😂
