I pulled a dry box 1991-2018 and always kept at least 2 wood blocks in the side box. They came in handy more times than I can count. Most of the time I used them to help slide the tandems but I found other uses, too. Some drivers have looked at me like I was nuts or in disbelief when I pulled them out to give them a hand. I also carried a 3 pound sledge hammer, screw drivers, pliers, tape, crowbar, tire thumper, gauge, hard hat, goggles, push broom. I had a good number of receivers be surprised when I walked in the door with tools and start unsecuring a load to get it off. I even got myself out of jams instead of waiting for a mechanic. I'm former Army(1974-81) sooo. Stay safe out there...

Dan Dan the professional flat deck man. You sure are fully equipped to haul just about anything. You have got a few thousand dollars worth of equipment to secure just about anything that comes your way. I used to like running deck and RGN. I also used to haul west coast China tops in the day. Had to tie everything down. Made it nice that one did not have to tarp when hauling a China top. Great video Dan. Have a great and a safe day. Have a great and a safe day. I have a 3406e CAT in a 1995 W900L and I switched to using a fleet guard primary fuel filter and I’ll never go back to the CAT brand. Reason being the CAT filter has a lot of additives which causes more restriction vs the fleet guard. The fleet guard last longer. Less time down.

I think most real flatbedders carry more equipment that some of which barely gets used. I have all 27' tarps. 2-6' drops and 2-4' drops and 1 fitted zinc tarp, 1 coil bag, 6-eye to the sky coil tarps, more crap than I use😂 and can't keep any of my 5 trailer boxes uncluttered. Thanks for doing an equipment video. I may steal your between the rails idea for the coil dunnage now. Stay safe

Greatly appreciated this vidio. Notice you do not carry a spare tire but have a bottle jack. I could remove and install my own mounted tire by using a torque amplifier. About a $50 tool kit to remove inner and outer lug nuts. Do you have same size tires on Pete and trailer? I worked for an idiotic owner for a brief time that had tarp cradles above the headache rack. Told them that someone some day will get injured very badly eventually. That company went out of business shortly after we parted. Loved flatbedding. The physical activity and securement challenges made for non boring days.

Always great videos, I have been pulling a flatbed for just over 2 years now and have learned a lot from your channel. Years ago you did a video about cost to operate your truck and the load boards at Mercer. Currently I have my own authority and have done well and am still profitable but, with the spot market falling quickly the consistency isnt there anymore I am interested in how you guys are doing that are leased on with carriers like Mercer. Mercer claims they give all kinds of discounts on fuel and they have regular customers. Can you elaborate on these numbers. Would a truck owner be better off leased on with Mercer or should I keep going forward with my current plan

I was wondering if you could do a video about preserving paint and metal maybe you already have a video. Have a great day .

What is the weight of your tractor with the super sleeper and equipment rack? Im always envious of you super sleeper guys but also wonder what you are limited to with the weight of your loads. FWI I was picking up a combine head the same day you were at John Deere harvester in East Moline about a month ago. We were too busy to say hi and you were securing your load as well. My wife and I are brand new to trucking and just finished our company training with Amhof to team drive flat beds and dry vans.
