I just thought of a simple way to prevent car theft. Disconnect the batter cable! Forget the club, the alarm, the Lo-jack. It may be a pain in the ass, but a quick, simple solution would prevent a lot of thefts- especially for Hyundai and Kia owners! Thanks Dan!

When I drove for a 47 State Carrier (every State but the one you live in) I figured out why there are so many toothless smiles in Truck Stops. I was delivering a load six-hundred miles from my home on the day I was supposed to be sitting in the Dentist chair. That was the last load I delivered for that carrier.

I've had a bunch of people tell me to always disconnect the negative battery cable connection first. They tried to explain why but I never understood it, so I just adopted the habit. Maybe someone here knows how to explain the "why" but I was told it was important. Safe travels, Dan and Bailey.

Because when you touch the body or any other steel on the car while disconnecting the negative it won't arc. If both are connected and you start with the positive IF your wrench touches something it will arc.

Hi Dan: Another fine video showing the trucker's experience. For what it's worth, when I have metal on metal on my deck I use a piece of rubber mud flap between the two. I carry a bunch of them and they will help stop the freight from moving around and save wear and tear on your deck. I use real rubber flaps cut in quarters. Travel safely.

Dan, I live about 20 miles south of Rockdale, Illinois. For your safety, I was hoping you didn't stay in that location but it looks like you made it out unscathed! Believe it or not, Rockdale used to be a nice little town but we all know what happens with little towns outside of big cities. Rockdale is right outside of Joliet, illinois. Crime is everywhere nowadays.

in the beginning i tried to do that, get home on a specific day, but it never worked out, so i never made any appointments, at home, unless i knew what specific day id be there, then id call and make one then, for me, it was hard getting home, as most companies i worked for were not based in my home state.

The dead-end is “around” the 61 yard stick in Illinois. I won’t say what interstate Dan. 🤔
