'66(M6) Bulova Snorkel 'F', cal. 11blacd. Rebuild/serviced.

*I did not store the new dial that way, loosely in a tin with other parts. That is exactly how I received it.
1966 Bulova Snorkel 'f' 660ft, haha. It's a simple repair for a chipped 6. This was a lot of work and honestly not a restoration as much as it was just building the watch. It needed almost everything replaced like dial, crystal, movement, bezel click, gaskets, crown, crown tube, movement clamps, hardware, balance, relume hands, and a ton of rust removal. Not 100% complete, I still need a crown and stem, the current one is a loaner from an Oceanographer, haha. Also need to figure on the best route for applying the brushed finishes.

I own one of these. My high school graduation gift from my parents in 1968. Never been opened. How much should I expect to have it clean and lubed ? Thanks Amazing ! And the skill of a surgeon.

Ha! Thanks for the compliment, but I'm definitely not that great. I've never paid for a service, but I've heard numbers from $100 to $300. Depending on who you go to, what training they have, and schedule they run. I can tell you what is costs me to service my own watches and nothing else, just a few dollars and maybe and hour or two, haha.

Very much not. I'd love to do this full time, but I have a hard time trusting myself to go into this business and still afford to take care of my family. For now, I'm a full time mechanic and a part time hobbyist, haha.

I have this watch, why can I not adjust the date function only & have to do a full 24 hour to change the date. Did these not have a quick set. Mine if I remember is a 1967??

This watch has the 11blacd or the 11alac which do not have quickset. A lot of older watches do not have quickset.

You stored a replacement movement with the hands still in place and NO crystal in a box with loose components? Really!

No, haha, I'm a little smarter than that. That's how it was shipped to me, and trust me, I was mad about it too. Especially how much it cost. That dial would have been mint.
