Truly a crime that there are only 6 weight classes in Olympic Games. Just SUCKS! 😡

Tell me about it.. TJ Hill 50kg World Champ

Totally agreed. Zain is probably my favorite wrestler but I'm worried that he won't be the same guy at 65 kg. he is a total freak at 70, and I don't know how he can lose 5 kg and still be the same guy.

On one hand I totally agree but on the other it gives us crazy matchups we would never see otherwise

@@justinflott5133 No doubt about that! It is kind of sad how much talent USA wrestling is gonna have sitting on the bench because of only 6 weight classes though :/

@@brendan638 - it’s also sad that we have top talent wrestling for other countries
Crushing the coverage CP
Insane weight. So stoked for it.
I have learned to never count out Seth Gross....a long road to make the team, but doable. Very tough weight. Good summary.
I think Zain will be really good down a weight still but the offensive output and energy will be reduced so Alirez or Yianni seem more likely to win
Forces guys like DeSanto who is good at 133lb to go to 65kg (143lb) Which puts him at a size disadvantage

DeSanto is a good wrestler but not one of the best senior lvl

Desanto has actually been doing great at 65 kilos

He beat Panteleo at this weight class tho
If Zain Retherford wins this bracket, he will have to go through a 41 person bracket at the world qualifiers, unseeded. He may face a very strong international opponent right off the scales.

That's crazy. That being said, I actually do like our chances.

@@brendan638 Same goes for Arujau, Gilman or other oversized wrestlers in these brackets (57/65)
@MichaelDeLaRosa

Why would he have to do that and not other 65kg guys?
@Depppittpenn

@@MichaelDeLaRosa It's same for everyone. Its just that it's harder for Retherford who is too big for 65, so a hard match off the scales may mean USA without a rep
Which weight was more up for grabs? A.) NCAA D1 125lbs B.) 2024 65KG Olympic Trials

Probably NCAA D1 125 pounds, because I think there was so many people who could win. For this, I think it will be either Zain, Yianni, Nick Lee, Alirez, or possibly McKenna. I would be shocked if it was someone besides one of those 5.
i think 57 will be more of a crazy story
so ridiculous that there is only 6 weight classes for the olympics some guys can’t make certain weight but are to small for others it’s not fair
Penn State has 15 Current and Former Wrestlers at the Olympic trials 🇺🇸💪💪
Why wasn’t Desanto at the trials?
Zain wins this.

Nope. Lee is better. He hates wrestling yanni. Who I bust I’ll has a run. Don’t be shocked if Ailrez and Mendez make a run

Of course you’re entitled to your opinion. I respectfully disagree. Hopefully who’s ever broadcasting this gives an opportunity to watch every single Men’s freestyle match. I don’t care if it costs $9.99-$19.99, but do it right and give us every single freestyle match in every single weight class.@@chloethacker

I hope so.
Zain Dominates
65kg has everyone ... except Vito.😥 I want to see how strong he could be at the weight rather than weak at 57. And two hours off the scale for the match?!?!
Sko Yianni
Qualify the weight
Pyles is Flo.
I hate when flo try’s to always make everyone think anyone can win. Just stop

I think there are multiple people who could win this. In my opinion from most to least confident, I would lean Zain, Yianni, Nick Lee, Alirez, and I think McKenna is a dark horse too. I don't see a possiblity in which Pantaleo, DeSanto, Mendez, etc. can win. But! In 2016, I don't think anyone predicted that Frank Molinaro would win. Frank had to beat Metcalf, Stieber and then Pico I think. Pretty crazy.
