Well, no, they are not. I hate to break the news but i have known several people who have endless empathy for animals but absolutely no empathy for humans. They are quick to blame humans and tend to have a sticker on a car that says "i love dogs, it is people i can't stand" Many animal lovers are like misanthropes.

But I agree that some are, and the main reason is because they know that humans are responsible for millions of innocent animals (pigs, sheep, cows) suffering on factory farms and slaughterhouses (and the people who try to cause suffering in other people too). But other animal lovers have figured out not to in general make up their minds to hate all people, but just the ones who take part in or are ok with animal suffering on factory farms and slaughterhouses, and people who are ok with other people suffering. All animal lovers out there need to learn to separate those people from people like us who are not ok with any kind of suffering to animals or other people. All animal lovers need to learn to not hate the people who are against the suffering of animals and other people.

Esther is definitely, like those guys said, a large commercial pig and not a mini pig/ teacup pig. As well as her size, you can tell by her longer snout and bigger ears that she's a large full grown farm pig. I could sort of tell by her piglet pictures too that she wasn't a mini pig piglet by her longer snout and bigger ears. I am glad that these guys have provided a life long safe haven for not just Esther but for 10 other large farm pigs, since they are the types of pigs that are on the factory farms and heading to the slaughterhouse. It seems that alot more people get mini pigs as pets than commercial pigs as pets due to the size of the latter being more difficult to keep around the house and their food expenses being much more since they obviously eat alot more. But more people need to save the big farm pigs since they're the ones, not the teacup pigs, that are suffering in huge numbers on factory farms and slaughterhouses

Pigs are smarter then dogs... Really they have the intelligence of a 4 year old child.

You can train a pig just like a dog or cat, but what makes their intelligence remarkable is the complex social lives that behaviorists once believed to be the purview of primates. Mother pigs have been found to sing to their piglets while they are nursing. They excel at video games that would be hard for a young child, and sometimes better than the primates.

Tagerz Gaming the dairy industry is crueler than the meat industry. Being vegetarian also doesn't have much of an impact on health. If you want to make a difference you should go vegan.

TYler_ SChecter I actually stopped eating pork since watching ZenmasterBlue's walkthrough of Empyrea I've fallen in love with a character from that world named Pork, yes, that's his name, and yes he's a pig. But his character, looks, and his personality made me stop eating pork. I haven't eaten pork since December of 2017.

you can tell what will end up as mini pigs, so 70-150 lbs by the ears (minis have sloped back ears), eyes (minis have small, sort of emotional eyes is the best way to describe them), and body (more pronounced belly, shorter legs and length). she doesn't have those features, so anyone with knowledge of what to look for would know the difference. i'm glad they didn't, otherwise who knows what would have become of this angel.

I have my SUZZZZEEEEE at 11/2 yrs. old at 683 lbs. Suzzzzeee is on a North GA farm and 1+ acres. Best adopted (4 mths old) pig for a starter farm.

I just watched another KZread video of Steve and Dereck talking about Esther and her growth and that they even kept a chart to track her growth. I find it hilarious that the news over dramatizes everything saying that they "suddenly" realized that she wasn't a teacup pig and they show a picture of Esther at like 500lbs as they say that, like no durr she isn't a teacup pig!

You do know she can get alot biger! I've seen 1,200 pounders.

So pigs are smarter, more sensative then a dog but there is no outcry against the slaughter of the humble pig. Animal rights activist will harp on about dog meat consumption in Asia but no one bats an eyelid when thousands of pigs are slaughtered every day, some in horrific, cruel conditions.

The shape of the ears are the easiest way to tell the difference between a real pot belly / mini pig and a commercial / farm pig. Mini pigs ears are about half the size in comparison to their farm pig cousin's ears. And yes, mini pigs ARE a real thing, but "mini" is clearly a relative term-- they can range from 70-100 lbs full grown (when fed properly) vs 500-800 lbs for a farm pig.

Very cute... but I'm too much of a clean freak to be able to tolerate all the dirt those animals track in. Still, it's all very cute. I love living vicariously through other people. Very attractive couple too!

My family owns a Sanctuary they have pigs, chickens, more my family is pretty rich I do eat meat but not the ones most people eat I mostly eat tuna spam, Crab, some of the normal chicken my parents are vegetarian they constantly tell me be a vegetarian I mostly eat meat because of calories my sister is both eat meat and vegetables/fruits my brother is vegetarian I am a animal lover I love animals so much because I grower up with animals I really liked the goats because their milk is pretty good
