65 Years Later… Dad is reunited with the car from his childhood!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
My Dad’s earliest memories of Automobiles are from age 4-5 years old. The car belonged to his Great Grandfather. It was totaled in an accident in 1958 when my father was just 7 years old.
Dad has such fond memories of his grand parents taking him to town in the car, he has dreamed of owning one just like it.
A first test drive, 65 years in the making!
Plus! We finally have ICE COLD VINTAGE AIR installed in his 1955 Chevy Belair!

Sorry to hear that. I lost my father last June unexpectedly. I had just been up to visit with him and eat lunch because a rain came up and I had to stop working. My sister asked if I’d like to have his old truck. I’ve got a lot of work to do, but I’m going to make it really nice. Gonna pour more into that old truck than anything I’ve ever done. When it’s done I’m going to have a family BBQ day out at the track for it’s first passes. Sorry for your loss.

Bobby, I know that feeling all to well. My Dads been gone since 2014. What I'll say is it never goes away but it does get easier with time. It did get me clean and sober so I know my Old Man would be Proud of me. As of Aug 19th I just celebrated 8yrs Recovery from my addictions. You'll be in my Prayers.

Sorry for the loss of your Dad you have my heart felt condolences Bobby. Lost my Mom in 1989 & my Pops in 2016 & we were close. I was in my 20’s when I lost Mom. I spent More time with Dad & as he got older as much as I could. Such as visiting him and taking him to his VA Doctors visits ect. I still should’ve spent more time with him & I still kick myself for not making more time for that. Although he’s laid to rest beside my mom in a beautiful mountain side🏔 cemetery with beautiful mountain ⛰🏔 views. Although I know where he’s at ☝🏼 in heaven with mom & the Lord, I still miss him and Mom a lot. Also as much as I miss them I’d definitely not want to bring them back to this evil world that’s gone bat 🦇 💩crazy. So I cherish the memories I had with them & brother that’s all we can do is just that. I think 🤔 about the memories and I smile & I laugh at the fun things and funny things we did do & shared. The Bible says that Our lives are just as a vapor it’s here and then it’s gone. So do as I’m doing Bobby just make the best of every single day you have of your life on earth. Cause brother that’s all we can do, I know your pain I’ve lived it, it’s hard at first but it gets easier to cope with in time. But you’ll never lose the great memories that you did have with them while they were here. The way I see it is if I keep myself in line with the Lord I’ll see my Mom & My Dad again one day in Glory. I’ll say a prayer 🙏🏼 for you Bobby, Hang in there it gets better in time brother. CC Rider
Rob's really looking great. He has lost so much weight. So glad he is taking his health seriously. Keep making strides brother.
Hits me right in the feels brother… appreciate y’all!
That 35 Ford is BEAUTIFUL! And congratulations on the Win Billy!
Nice to see your dad fullfilling his dreams at his age. It's never too late to do that. And the '55 looks SO much better with the new springs!
No apology needed Mr. Bill, we knew this was gonna be a special video. You all have so much going on and still make time to take us along for the ride! Thanks for another great episode. Tell your dad I love that 35 Ford!

Dads are important, you get only one and if you are fortunate enough to love the same things, do all you can, to fulfill his dreams, time waits for no one. Love all your videos with your father.
Great to see your dad get the car from his childhood and you guys getting his 55 ac going. Congratulations on the other thing also. Only thing better than being a dad is being a grandpa. 👍

I agree. Around 2000 or 01 i found a 1950 Ford tudor sedan, still 6v electric and so similar to what my dad had and hot rodded back then in the most poor part of the country, eastern kentucky. Still that way. Dad learned how to moonshine drive but he wasn't even hauling any he just wanted to go fast. He knew them crooked roads and only did this stuff at night. Go into a curve and shut your lights off to see if anybody was in the curve. Back then nobody was on the road in the early dark am. No headlights before going in meant throttle down, head to the lower end of the curve, put the front down low and drift it thru , all 4 sliding and make the same turn double or more the posted limit. Has anyone here ever tried to drift a 80-100hp flathead ford thru a curve? It aint easy ill just tell you that. Dad did it every night he was out in his car. The trans was a huge problem. After several explsions internal he learned lincoln gears were tougher. Dad spent all week putting new straight cut gears in prior to syncros, and bang shift and dump the trans every friday night at the drive in. He quit counting after 40 times. But when it did run the 120hp mercs could not go around him because he knew how to hold the road with his 80-100hp flathead ford V8. I found a clean 50 tudor sedan deluxe like dad had back then in around 2000. Bought the car for dad and he almost cried when I gave it to him then, so many memories. Dad was gone in 2016 and i still have the 50 as a local daily driver. I cannot imagine drifting this ride around the curves yet dad said this car was better than his original one!
I finally got to meet y’all at War in the Woods and I made it on the video thx y’all for being so nice!!

Your Grandfather Lewis Hoskinson Sr. reminds me of your Son Billy & most likely You Bill & Your Dad also looked like him at a young age. It’s amazing how God Created Us All Different. But Yet so that Family DNA Genes 🧬 pass down from our grandparents to our parents & also on to us. Awesome to see your dad get the Car that makes his childhood memories complete. That’s a very honorable & admirable thing! 😁👍🏼
When you surround yourself with good people, and great vendors, amazing things are capable. Mr Bill, seeing the joy in your dads face was a tear jerker. That old Ford is a real gem 💎.

This is so Heartwarming seeing you and your father making memories, cherish him and look after him like I know you will, nobody lives forever, which I’ll shortly experience myself with my parents, watching you bonding with your father warms my heart ❤️
So happy for your dad. The 35 Ford is amazing Wonderful to see him at the car show with the 55 and now it has power steering and ice cold air. Great video. Love y’all.
For some reason, it's absolutely very satisfying watching your family just go from the one bay, with the hoist that's been cycled at least 2,000 times with rigged up heating so you can at least change Billy's blown engines/oil during sh*t weather....to now having a multi bay with heated floor shop that.totally makes life just that more rewarding!! I've meet you guys up here at Onondaga drag strip, before the Cummins...we're talking 350,000 mile gas BBC, billy.was emptying gas cans that weren't going to be used for the gen into the old dully at about 1am after diving and then racing all day....he still ansewred a question with the same respect as he had when signing a shirt that was just sold and helped pay for that fuel going from can back into the tank to get the trip started back to home. This family didn't make it because of fame or any type of hand out....they made it because they have what it takes to have never gave up!! So I say that to say this,...all tribes need a good leader to survive, but this tribe thrives....because it has 2 leader's that stand together!!! This is what parenting looks like....this is what a family can become when it stays together!! Let's go SRC/OMG, keep America great!!! Thank you for your services, your being rewarded for your test.of times@!!! Keep on keeping on, hope that floor always stays warm!!! No welfare zone!!!!
That's a beautiful 35 Ford. Bet your old man is in Hog Heaven

I do also, I lost my Mom to a 13.5 year bout with cancer when I was in my 20’s. So I tried to visit my Dad more often and he passed in his 80’s in 2016 just six months after one of my sons and his fiancé was killed in his sports car in a single car accident where they hydroplaned off the road in rain. So I had a double whammy in 2016, but after losing mom in 1989 it did make me gravitate towards spending more time with my Dad. So I hope Bill continues to do the same thing with his Pops! Because still to this day I feel like I should’ve spent more time on the phone with and in person with my dad. But you’re right it’s great seeing Bill and his family spending More Time with Mr Hoskinson. I think Bills Dad being alone now he needs more company & closeness to his family. Which is exactly what happened with My Dad after losing my mom of 36 years of marriage.....Dad like Bills Dad would say hey can U come get my car & take me here or there 😁. I knew he was lonesome & just wanting more connection with me & just human interaction period. So I expect to see a lot more of Bills Dad on the show which is Awesome to see! 😁👍🏼 Bills Dad appears to be such a quite and humble man like my Pops was & those are traits in people that seem to be far and few between in folks nowadays.

I sure hope Bill starts keeping Pops included in all future videos. It’s no doubt that the Hoskinson boys, Bill & Bucko especially, got their passion for hot rods from Pops and it seems that Pops has a barn full of potential future projects that would be nice to see Pops be able to do something even if it’s nothing more than maintaining his new ford and taking it & maybe the 55 to some shows or just out enjoying them in some form or fashion. Bills got the platform available to him that most of us don’t and he can forever preserve the next decade or two and always have a record of these important times. I wish like anything I’d had that with my dad but now only have the memories in my memory, lol, which is better than nothing. I love seeing his Dad!!!
Wow. His dad started in 2001. Pretty Cool.
it was worth the wait
Thanks for everything Bill
Love seeing the passion your Dad has for the Cars , Trucks and Tractors. It’s easy to see where it all started. I think it would be cool to have your Dad on the podcast to hear some old stories
This is pure gold...... Spending time with the old man is priceless, building memories that will last a lifetime....
You 2 guys will always remember getting that car
Just wanted to say that flathead sounds sweet. That is a great looking 35.
Helping to fullfill your dads bucket list after losing the love of his life is a special moment, thanks for sharing.Cherish parents, family and friends, some will pass early and some last beyond your years but memories live forever.Keep your pops busy and go to car shows etc, good on you Hoskinsons, family first.

Only thing i have is all the memorys from the past! So keep taking care and help your Dad when he needs it. I wish you and your family the best and God bless you all! Hugs from Sweden!!
Congratulations grandpa Bill!!!! The 55 is looking good glad you fixed the springs. Good stuff 💯
Thanks for the video bill ..
Good to see ur dad keep on keepin on Maybe uncle bucko can video a little of him and ur dad on the farm. A little on the farm segment maybe 👍👍
Cherish these days Bill, we are about the same age and i lost my dad 29 years ago and mom 11 years now. Wish i had more time when they were here. Spend as much time as you can. Bless yall.
🎉🎉 perfect timing!! A fella was up for a midnite snack and the old man drops a vid!!! Love your family’s content! Cant get enough
Im only 27, but i appreciate those flatheads a ton now, they were EXTREMELY revolutionary and the birth of hot rodding! Just last year got into the history of Ford and watched all i could about the company and its development of the Model T, then A, then the 32 fords....The documentary "1932 - The Invention of the Ford V8 Engine" on KZread is INCREDIBLE and shows exactly how it was done and how the cars and engines were developed. Real old school 1940s production it looks like
That's a beautiful car your dad got
Mr. Old Man is an amazing person, Father, Son, and Husband!!! Thanks for being that cool guy to others!!! It's noticed and appreciated 👍.
Just finished word on the streets podcast and this shows up! Hell yea thanks bill!
Bob needs... Cnc machine for port matching gaskets and other stuff
That's one nice looking Ford your dad bought I can only imagine how excited he was to find it. Back in the 70s, 80s and 90s the after market AC always blowed colder then the factory I have no clue why it did but everyone that I had worked on did. Now that's what I call keeping uncle Bob busy with all them engines once he's done you all are going to be busy as well. I'm so happy for your dad the 55 now has AC and he now owns the car he grew up in. Thank you Bill for the awesome entertainment God bless and as always be safe.
Reunited and it feels so good and God knows the 55 is super sexy thank you for another awesome video 😊

New truck new cars! Good for him!
I know good and well all those vendors love to see your name pop up on their caller ID. Back in the 70's after groceries I went and paid my parts bill. Back then it was steep I can't imagine yours nowadays with the volume of parts that are delivered to your shop or Uncle Bobs place seems like daily. That's a sweet ole Ford your dad picked up! I'm a loyal Ford fella but I don't judge any make when they get tweaked!!!!!!!! The new shop is something I only dream of. It's not only going to be functional. The design is hands down one of the most aesthetically pleasing to the eye I've ever seen!
It feels like forever since we got to see Bucko… it’s good to see him back in one of your videos.
That's so Awesome 😎
I wish had good memories with my dad but I don't since he just brings me down all the time
Busy,Busy,Busy. Gotta get that New Shop finished up, Its as someone flipped the switch up here in NE Ohio last weekend and the leaves on the trees got the message that its officially fall now. There changing a bit early this yr. We don't usually see this much color starting yo apear untill about the 2nd week in October. Not the last week in September.
Couldnt imagine the memories that rushed back in dads head when he seen that car ! They can not be replaced ! 😁
I am so happy for your dad getting that beautiful Ford. He's a hard worker and he deserves it.The 55 is one of my favorite O.M.G cars. I owned a 55 Bel-Air back in 1979 when I was a kid...I rewired the whole car when I was 14 years old! Great memories! I bought my t-shirt and I'm going to buy another today. I would love to hang out with OMG crew for a couple days. It would be an honor to meet your dad. God bless and have a great weekend!
Cool video, thanks.

1st, thanks Bill for sharing that special moment with your dad, I don't know if this is the model but klyde wrote a letter to Mr Ford thanking him about the 35 Ford V8.... 2nd, if I knew a 10/th of what Bob knows about engine's I would be a busy man..
