The mechanic at my dealership wishes he watched your hood release video as he broke the front clip on one of their models the first time he tried to remove it. I told him about your videos haha. Any advice on your initial break-in driving behaviors would be helpful as well. Did you follow the manuals recommendations etc as your machine seems to be doing well. 👍🏻👍🏻 Thanks

  • @ironheadbiker

    @ironheadbiker

    3 жыл бұрын

    Thanks for the nice words! My mechanic only bent mine, as I found out once I figured out how to take the hood off reverse engineering a picture of one still in the crate. I zoomed in and could see the push grommets. To your mechanic's defense, I have the service manual and they say nothing about how to remove the hood, or calibrate the speedo, or where the hidden grease zerks are. Now on the break in thing. This is only my opinion, but on many of my vehicles, including this one, I break them in as I intend to use them. With the belt drive machines, (this is my 2nd one, my other a 2011 ranger crew I put 5,000 miles on and no issues, original belt even) I ride around in low range, holding it at a set speed, then a little faster, and a little faster, just holding it a 5-10 secs at each speed. Then high range, pretty much the same, just not as much low speed. My Harley I rode it right away like I'd always ride it, pretty fast, and mile one from the dealer, (I put 100,000 miles on that machine). But I don't do deep mud and water riding. I try to do my own service, so I know it gets done, but also so I learn my machine. I bought an upgraded UNI air filter, as I believe the air filter stock is pretty bad, and these things eat dust stock due to the location of the intakes, I might do a homemade "snorkel kit just to get the breathers up about the swirling dust created by the rear tires and back of cab. I think the mud riding, as so many to, is fun, but what it does to the radiators, clogging and coating the fins and tubes with baked on mud, can really do damage fast, just like getting dust in a motor. I like to trail ride with friends or my dogs, and do work around the house. I'm just to cheap to take a $13,000 machine out and beat on it. I'll work it hard, it's just so tough getting everything cleaned properly once you're done. I did it in my teens and 20s, but machines were simpler, and I think my new '89 quad sport was $2,100. As I find things I believe help people I'll post them. I'm still working the bugs out of my doors and changing the designs to make it better. My largest complaint about cfmoto is the lack of "support " from the manufacturer. We kinda get the "alone in a desert island feeling" but sticking together and sharing ideas sure makes it better! Thanks again

You can always change it back, and I'm pretty sure the number after the decimal point isn't very important, that's really doing some fine tuning. I'd just note your original number 1st. But yeah, it's very useful, and I'm surprised the dealers aren't even aware of it.

I think I should try using my phone as gps-unit to check the speed, maybe mount it somehow so I can see. And when I do this, I will probably make a video-answer to you.. like mention you in the video. And doing this will make your atv/utv actually do less mileage and and we doesn't need to do the service as often as we do now. I'll be waiting for the video once you post it. Remember that it will do it throughout the speed band. It might be off only 1-3kph at 10, maybe 3-6 at 20kph, and 7-10 at 30kph. It grows exponentially the faster you go. But i like that idea of using the radar, then you can concentrate on keeping the same speed, which can be a little tricky with belt driven machines.

    That's the diff lock speed over ride. When the front is locked in, (the rear are always locked) so you're in true 4x4 all wheels locked in, the machine limits your top speed or rpms for safety reasons. That switch will over ride, or turn off the limit so you can go faster but it's highly not recommended.

    No, but, when it comes to buying a used atv/utv I'm very, very, cautious. Watch 3 minutes of KZread to see what people put them thru. Do you know the seller? How many miles, or hours? What's your closest uforce dealer, and are they Knowledgeable on cfmoto. They're really starting to catch on, but even my dealer didn't know much about them, and I've had to do some figuring for myself, which is fine, but can be frustrating. As they grow in popularity, there'll be more wider variety and availability of parts and accessories. And with the upgrades in the 2022 models, it should lower the retail of the older models a little bit. They do have an obi reader pet, so you could scan it for any codes.
