Ihr Fränkischen Schweizer habt eine der schönsten Bahnen überhaupt - sogar mit echtem Schnee

Gänsehaut, einfach nur schön da kommen viele Erinnerungen hoch aus der Kindheit

Klasse, 3 Daumen hoch, da muß ich unbedingt mal mitfahren. Ist nur fast 500km entfernt.

Ausgezeichnet und schön sind die Züge im Schnee

das echo der pfeife ist viel yu geil in der gegend

Hallo, sehr schön Film. Was mir aufgefallen ist, im ersten Wagen hinter der Lok funktioniert scheinbar die Dampfheizung nicht. Das sieht man daran, dass Dach ist noch mit Schnee bedeckt. Bei den anderen Wagen ist der Schnee abgebaut. Frohe Zweiter Weihnachtsfeiertag.

Der Unterschied bei dem ersten Wagen ist das er die Woche vor den Fahrten draußen stand und der Rest in der Halle. Dadurch war er komplett von Schnee bedeckt. Grüße aus der Fränkischen Schweiz

Under the cab, just after the last driver there is something that looks like an inductive pick up on both the engineer's and fireman's sides. What is it?

@@DampfbahnFraenkischeSchweiz That's what I suspected but did not realize that they would be placed on steam locomotives, only on mainline service trains.

@@rickswanberg4995 it's mandatory if you want to drive on the public network. On our own line we also have a few magnets, but the, are only active when operating with two trains on the same line.

Would someone please tell me where I might find more, in English, about this beautiful railway.

Unfortunately our Web page is German only (for now, maybe we can translate it soon...) but an online translation might work: www.dampfbahn.net/ - The very brief version: located slightly north of Nuremberg, 16km long, 3 steam engines of which 2 are operational, 4 Diesel engines (2x V36, V60 and a KöfII), of which 2 operational currently, a railcar, a battery powered engine and lots of coaches... Running every Sunday and most holidays between May and October, alternating steam and diesel days.

In der fränkischen ist die Welt noch in Ordnung 😅😅

It's a 1'C1' (resp. 2-6-2 in american), so that should be Prairie type.

@@calcnoon we are based in Germany, close to Nuremberg. In Germany, any area which has some hill was called "Something Schweiz" starting in the 19th century, to attract more tourists :-) There is even a Holsteinische Schweiz in northern germany with hills reaching majestic heights of about 40m...
