60s Ludwig "Super Classic/Symphonic" Snare Drum Snare Wire Setup

This is the way I have set these particular snare drums up when the original snare wires were missing.

Glad it was helpful! That is what this channel is all about. Not trying for slick shiny photography or knowitall approach. Just sharing what little I know and a different point of view. Beside, its free... like it or hate it. Cheers, Bruce

✨56 was a good year! Ha Ha… I was born. You too? Thanks for the video!!✨ ((Great drum, by the way)) I’m a sucker for old Ludwig and Slingerland… plus Gretsch. Ok… almost anything vintage that’s good. 😂🤣😂🤣

Outstanding ! It looked to me like the wires were stretched out and that’s one of two places where that sound will come from. The other is that your plastic ends need to be heated up and bent to lay flat. In the last 15 years I’ve bought numerous original Acrolites in the rental cases with all the unneeded crap that usually accompanies them, Only to get the 20 Strand Plastic Ends Snare Wires. That may seem weird to most…but to me it was worth it to get undamaged plastic ends snare wires. I even have a set on my 6.5X14” Camco (16L) Concert Aristocrat. I could care less about originality, not a collector. So I had a 7X14” WFL Symphonic custom made from a clear interior 10x14” marching or Parade Snare. COB hoops, 16 small lugs and a P-83. I couldn’t find a Symphonic that didn’t have white paint slathered over the interior, what was the line? Oh yeah, Resocoat ! Oh Please, it’s cover up paint for a knarly looking interior shell…Anyway, Great Video !
