Everyone likes to make fun of Qidi tech printers for being large and say it's due to their poor packaging, but no one talks about how the heated chamber will require additional heating elements and heat shielding which is likely why they're so much larger, not poor design. Also it gives them a consistent brand identity, most CoreXY machines look the same, but when you see a Qidi tech, you know!

I 100% agree that quality and consistency is most important. Ease of use as well. The less I have to do to get a print going that comes out great with minimal effort, the better the experience for me at least. Not everyone is an engineer and less is more for a majority of the hobby base I would have to think 🤷🤷🤷

Agree. Doesn't matter how fast it prints if they come out crappy. I don't cut the filament to remove. I heat it up to temp, then pull it out easy and it seems to work fine that way. Just be sure to pull it out before it tries to extrude the "cut" off piece it expects or it will pull the filament back in.

Th coupler is probably for the filament dry box that came by default with their X3 printers (Smart, Plus and Max), allows nylon/nylon CF to be printed from the drybox with a fully enclosed path to the nozzle. It won't mount directly to the Q1 pro, but can be used sitting beside it.

Yeah, the Ludicrous speed with Hyper PLA although interesting might be a little too fast for quality visually for prints. But the reason I'm interested in faster speed is when using 0.2 nozzle for detailed prints. Being able to print more detail was smaller layer lines is a nice upgrade (but not on Ludicrous mode.😅)

"Dear Customer: Hello, I heard that our engineers are currently developing it, but I am not very clear about the specific situation. terribly sorry." (Name of employee withheld to prevent any backlash). So I think it's coming, hopefully it can be retrofitted on the previous machines (like my new X Max 3). I'm printing functional products for sale - in this context, I want 'fit-for-purpose' quality, but once it's over that bar, speed is my priority: faster printer = less printing time per unit. This printer might not be the best quality for a print farm, but for me printing product in ASA with only a couple of printers, this is ideal to help me bootstrap my business. If I can print ASA without brims and minimal warping it will save me tons of time in post-processing as well.

It's nice to see manufacturers delivering klipper machines with open ssh, however -- why do they feel the need to alter klipper code making not updateable. This machine is running a klipper version that's over 2 years old. If you want to run kamp, or other advance klipper features, you can't. IS is better now, belt shaping. At the start of the video I gotta say I disagree. I use a 1mm nozzle because I don't care about quality. I'm trying to prototype things as quickly as possible and I design around the downsides of that.

    The majority definitely wants quality.

@@LoyalMoses I could've phrased that better. I understand most people want overall quality, but for my purposes that's just really nice to have. I mainly make parts for my car and robot parts for my Vex U team. If we need a part done to progress and something needs to be reprinted, it's really nice to have a fast printer so we don't have to waste another day waiting for prints. As for the car parts, I usually fill and paint those anyways and they don't have fine details. Strength and speed matter most there. If you're spending this much on a machine that's in that "it just works" sort of category rather than buying a cheap i3 clone I think there's a higher chance you don't have the time to reprint things much, hence that being a bigger selling point.

I dont really care about multi color. I can paint the print rather than wasting that much plastic to change colors. Multi material would be cool though. Or maybe an IDEX version allowing one to change to a support filament without having to purge.

Painting will work for crafts, definitely. I have both multi-nozzle and IDEX, and multi-material / color is far superior. The waste isn’t as much as people want to believe it is.

@@LoyalMoses Good to hear. Most influencers make a big deal out of waste. I am still learning. I came from machining and airbrushing, hence my thoughts on color vs materials. Btw, Really good videos on yer channel.

I was thinking something along those lines, only regarding the top of the machine. Accessibility to the things you gotta futz with to operate it is pretty damn important.

I think the real test would be to get someone who is a complete noob at 3d printing and make them print something complicated and see how noob-proof the printer is.. i mean you say its targeted towered EVERYONE..

I always treat each machine this way, I try not to assume very much so that regular people can be represented.
