600 Watts of Video Light for $150

Фильм және анимация

Can you really film with outdoor flood lights? Is 600 watts of light bright?
There seems to be the misconception that video lights must come from video light companies, but that has never been the case. In fact until just a few years ago, lights were lights, nothing special, nothing special about video lights.
That was until they started making LED lights and through the marketing of influencers on KZread, we have been led to believe that we need brand name lights for thousands of dollars to get good video. But, that is absolute horse shit.
You can shoot with incandescent lights, resentfulness lights, mercury vapor lights, LED lights, what every you want and get great video.
Buying a $2000 light wont make you a better videographer. Having a purple background, wont make your channel more popular. But hey, its your money, spend it as you want.
For us, we use all kinds of lights, we have lights from the 1930's to today, but we do not obsess on having the most popular, we obsess on making the lighting work for our shots. The more lights you have, the easier that is.
This video is about using cheap $20 lights to replace expensive 600 or 1200 watt studio lights and having more compact and more efficient lighting.

Nice video but I think we all want more BUNKER videos. What am I going to do with these lights in a bunker?

excelent idea ! I shot an independent music project here in brasil (which things are super expensive), so this gave me some ideas on how to get more light options!

I hope you watch some of our other lighting videos, like using the parking lot lights, RGB flood lights and how we use $10 lights and a $10 umbrella as a difuser. Also using cheap cellophane wrapping paper to get colors. You can do a lot without spending a lot of money on lights. I am glad you found it and it was helpful.

Thanks, trying to keep the lighting budget low. But we still need bright lights.

Right around 96 when they are new. But like all LEDs, the more you use them the less useful they are. So CRI is really nonsense after the first 10 hours of use. Check out this video we did explaining and demonstrating how LEDs burn out. kzread.info/dash/bejne/iHx8pZSgqZmbiso.html
