GM never said this transmission was as good as the PDK, they said that it upshifted as fast as the PDK, when in auto mode.

thx for that nice vid. i drove the stock C7 and i can clearly hear in your vid a very nice little supercharger whine .....love it ! And i noticed the 8speed shifts very quick when using track mode and manual shifting mode together.

Thanks for doing this vid. It adds value to a crowded marketplace. I'm considering a Magnuson for my 2016 C7 Z51 Stingray. Mid range power production is what I'm looking for, and street use is my primary objective. I'd like to to see some street driving with the Magnuson as well. Agent Orange Selfie sticks aren't useless. It's how people use them. The extendable handle is a bluetooth remote. You can set up your phone in a room and descretely (from your pocket) activate recording. And the part that holds the phone, allows you to mount the phone onto a tripod. Which is incredibly useful for taking sharp pictures. Plus you can use your phone as a mounted camera.

I like this review, good job. I've always wondered how z06 vs z51 supercharged would cmpare. Very informative.

I have a 19 stingray with Procharger 10lbs with meth, LT4 fuel system and headers w/ x-pipe and corsa rear. I can gap stock Z06 by 6-7 cars from a 40 roll. I only use the meth for cooling though.

I really like the idea of a sleeper stock c7 that would beat on z06's for only 8k more than base price, this is a steal

beautiful car, beautiful place. Nice.

The transmission seems to shift vastly quicker when you were on the throttle. At less throttle seems like it shifted slower. I loved the blip shifting on moderate+ throttle.

never really paid much attention to paddle shifter noise in a vid before, damn they sound sooo cheesy and cheap...

This is a Monster car!

Lingenfelter's N/A upgrade promises 630 HP and 530 lb-ft for 12 Grand. Although you won't get as much torque or the wide torque band of the Magnuson's supercharger, I still prefer the naturally aspirated version. Plus you won't gain as much weight as putting a supercharger since most of the engine parts are replaced with lighter, stronger alternatives.

How did it work out? I’m currently looking at a used 2016 z51 with aftermarket Magnuson carb certified supercharger with 27,000 miles but I’m nervous because dealer says can’t get warranty because car is customized 😰

Matt, could you try to review the C7 Corvette Z51 with bolt ons and a good heads and cam job? That would make a good comparo being both automatics! Two diferent approaches to get more power!

I like the part where Matt says it's a very hot day, 85 degrees while us NorCal people are fending off 100+ degree weather. No worries Matt, just pulling your chain! Hehe!

They said it's better than PDK because supposedly it shifts faster. The paddle shift sounds kind of cheap, but those shifts were very quick.

im about to get a c7 and the automatic sounds good to me, since my rx8 is manual and its a pain in the ass when you get stuck on traffic, auto is a lot more relaxing so you can enjoy, and if you want high rpm you just play manual with those paddle shifters. i think i will get the auto for sure. thank you for showing the car so now i have a much better idea

you can quickly full throttle and let off and it will put u in "performance shift mode" and it rips ass just like the paddle shifters. try it out

robson risso yeh personally i never use the paddle shifters its dumb to think u could manually shift the transmission better than the computer is programed to do. My bro has same exact car he uses shifters always I dont, i always start pulling ahead on shifts

yrs I thing the same way, but sometimes I like to drive in high revs and I dont like the computer shifting at 4k rpm or i like to down shift to hear a nice sound. after a while you might get tired of it and just wanna drive and relax and step on throttle when you want to feel the car is fast lol

I have this car the paddles do not sound like that. The mic must be like right next to the paddles because in the car you do not hear that. Now in other news, I totally plan to put this particular supercharger on my 2015 Z51. Potenza RE71R tires will be part of that setup.

33 is a heck of a road!

NZXcel I don't think Matt records multiple audio tracks though; you can hear the click and then 0.5-1 second later hear the actual gear change. So I think it's actually this slow to react for whatever reason. Clearly not comparable to the PDK, as GM would have liked.

Shift speed at full or near full throttle seems very quick, but the actual response of the gearbox from when the paddle is clicked to the cogs actually swapping seems slow by PDK standards. But definitely an improvement on the 6 speed nonetheless.

NikoBell12 You don't need to drive that car to know that the gearbox is shit. There's a good delay between clicking the paddle and the car actually shifting. Matt even says the gearbox isn't as good in the video.

Per Matt - If you track your C7 then supercharging may not be a good option. I'm interested in tracking and considering trading my Z4M (which i track from time to time) for a C7. Most of the used supercharged C7's i'm finding are using a Centrifugal type like an ECS as opposed to this which looks like a Twin Screw style. I'm wondering +TheSmokingTire (or anyone else) if you know if a Centrifugal would be better on track with respect to heat dissipation since it doesn't sit right on top of the engine block?

What RPMs were you running it at that the temp went up after just 10 minutes of open highway crusing? The Maggie should provide so much more midrange HP that the higher RPMs aren't needed.

Alberts Roze It shifts slower when not on WOT. When its under load and WOT it shifts fast. But regardless...autos and sports cars. ugh.

It's instant at high throttle. it has to modulate and make lower speed shifts smoother or it makes for an awful jerky ride. But nah people just bitch anyways.
