Congratulations on 600 hours! This is very motivating. I like that you broke down how you were feeling at each level leading up to level 5. I am just now approaching level 2, so videos like these keep me going. YES to being introverted and finding all the reasons to *preserve energy* 😅 YES to doing what motivates you. One thing I’ve noticed with people using DS is they take Krashen’s theory of comprehensible input yet often forget his other theory on affective filter (which suggests that positive + engaging learning environment is necessary language acquisition).

@@shespeakspanish thank you! :) you SO got this!! how exciting youre also on this comprehensible input journey too! and YES. sometimes i feel bad bc im like since i live in a spanish speaking country, i SHOULD be doing more. but also, nah. 😂 i'm just doing my best. hahah and that is VERY true. too many times i find that the videos are watching me lmfaooo thats when i know i need to switch it up and do something to keep me engaged! that should be talked about and encouraged way more than it is!

Congratulations on 600 hours!!! Well done! I will hit 600 today. 🥳 You're absolutely right about living in a Spanish speaking country not being the answer to learning Spanish. If I wanted to, I could get by in Mexico forever without learning Spanish. NOT that I would want to, but I could. The only difference from what you said is that my husband always hands me the phone when he gets a call from a Spanish speaker. 😂 He isn't learning Spanish, but he's good at "body language" Spanish and isn't afraid one single bit to throw things out there and he somehow makes it work as much as he needs to. I'm also on track to hit 1,000 hours by the end of the year. Actually I'm a little behind, but I'll catch up! I'm also not learning another language like you are doing. You're a rockstar!
