60 yr. old kook carving & grinding Sunnyvale Fair Oaks Skatepark (Lansing)

First time touching a skateboard in 12 months; only the second time in 2 full years! Rusty, but managed to get a bunch of 50-50 carve grinds, some itsy-bitsy FS and backside grinds in the vert bowl, and fs slide-out rock 'n' rolls. Not bad for a 60 year old that only skates once a year. Just sayin'.
Fun as heck.

and to think that when I was younger "carving" over the pool light in the deep end of a pool was EXCELLENT nice runs 😊 what's your setup ?

@hanskloss1331 I hear ya'. I started on a wooden board with steel wheels; we were all jealous of a neighbor kid who had CLAY wheels! 🤣 Then upgraded to a yellow "Banana board" w/urethane wheels & loose ball bearings, then a Rockit board with Bennett Pros and Roadrider 4s. I had the first ramp in my town (1976), and the first halfpipe (1980). Skated Winchester and backyard swimming pools in my teens. I was never very good, but I could do frontside airs about 6" out of a vert pool, footplants, rock 'n' rolls, and that was about it. I quit skating for 22 years, then got back into it and started my own skateboard company (Latter-Day Skates) in 2000, which ran for 8 years and supported my family. Now I only skate a couple times a year. I have two setups: A cheapo no-name 10" deck w/Krux trucks, and Z-Flex Jay Adams 9.5" board w/Indys; both running Bones SPF 60mm wheels.

20 years ago -- when I was "only" 40 years old! lol -- I could frontside grind that big tombstone at the start of the video. Now I can't even get within two feet of the coping! Oh, well...that's what happens when you get old.
