I misspoke several times calling the actor, Barney Phillips as Barney Miller. Thank you as always for the amazing support! I had a lot of fun making this one. One can make a channel just on this show and dissect so much from it. More to come
Twilight Zone was a great show. Not only creepy, it usually had an underlying message. I really loved this episode. John Hoyt and Jack Elam were fine actors.
Five years of quality episodes to explore and discuss? Yes, go for it! Twilight Zone is a rich vein of television gold, with only a few nuggets of iron pyrite thrown in to help us appreciate Serling’s true greatness all the more!
Yes, definitely freaked me out when i was a young kid watching this in my grandmothers apartment by myself at midnight in the 70s. The effects did not need to be the greatest, because the story and presentation in an eerie manner was enough to let my own imagination finish things and scare the bedoozle out of me; not to mention leaving me with food for thought to consider as i had to get ready for bed, power things down and try to fall asleep afterwards.
My all-time favourite Twilight Zone episode is “A Stop at Willoughby” because I can relate to it. Of course, in my case, Willoughby would be a town stuck in the 50s or 60s!
I love the Twilight Zone. I didn’t know they actually tried to make that eye move. It definitely doesn’t look great but it’s interesting to understand the thought process.
The Twilight Zone always gave you something to think about. Well written episodes. This is one of my favorites.
Would love to see more “Deep Dives” into the Twilight Zone and the Outer Limits!!!!!! Plus the Alfred Hitchcock Hour!!!! Thanks Rick and Merry Christmas!!!!
The goofy guy at the counter (Jack Elam) steals the show. One of my favorite episodes.
Boy, Jack Elam was one of the most irregular-looking actors ever! When I was a kid, I always noticed him in movies because his weird eye unnerved me.
Yes, more Twilight Zone episodes would be great!... Loved this show! And the episode featured in this video is one of my favorites! Excellent final twist! AND the 'older more educated' character is played by the same actor who appeared in several Hogan's Heroes episodes too! (Usually as a General but not always).
I really liked this episode, because when you find out the older man is the alien, you think, "Oh, so THAT's who it is," but it never occurs to you that there is another alien in the diner. When the guy removes his cap, it's right out of left field.
Super great stuff, Rick! "The Twilight Zone" remains one of the most innovative and original television shows EVER made. Yes, please continue to "dissect" episodes from this legendary series. It deserves nothing less.
Yes Rick, definitely more Twilight Zone!!! This episode in the diner is one of my favorites but I love all the episodes!!! You could always count on some interesting twist to get your mind thinking!!!! Thanks for sharing this fun video!!! 👍👍🎄
Even when I was a kid realized that these episodes were more like mini-plays than motion pictures and didn't expect great effects. I appreciated them for what they were, intriguing and well-written plays. But I was brought up in a home that encouraged reading and may have had a little more developed imagination than a lot of kids.
YES PLEASE DO MORE twilight zone episodes!!!!!
More Twilight Zone would be great- 100% my favorite classic tv show.
I'm 72 and have had a passion for TTZ since my very first viewing. One of the many episodes that you don't hear about too much, is "Judgement Night", episode 10. A very spooky tale about a German man traveling on a civilian/cargo ship. Thank you so much for this! Stay safe and be well. Peace from S. Oregon.
This was one of my favorite episodes! Definitely do more Twilight Zone!
Yay! You’re covering the twilight zone… one of my favorites! Please keep these awesome videos coming. Thanks Rick! 💕
