Surprised you didnt mention the OG sniper bullet trajectory. I preferred it soooo much more. It took more precision and "prediction" as it had so much bullet drop after a certain distance and watching them curve down and eventually hitting someones head with that *tink* is one of the most satisfying feelings in gaming history imo. Also, the Scar used to sound wayyyyy different and I actually preferred the old sound.

People don’t talk about the atmosphere of OG Fortnite enough. There was just something about being a noob in season 1, hiding in the attic of a house, listening with bated breath to an enemy walking around outside, furiously aiming your shotgun at the stairs. Or just walking around the map. Watching the sky change color, listening to the little bird sounds and hearing the ticking of the clock right before the storm started moving.

8:51 The main thing to keep in mind when you look at the original state of BR is that Epic got all the original assets for BR from Save the World. Everything from environmental objects to buildings to skins to the weapons and traps came from Save the World. This includes that stat block showing dmg, crit chance/dmg, fire rate, mag size, etc for each weapon. Only change the made on the weapons was changing the names bc a lot of them had unique ones. The M-16 is called the Breacher, the SCAR is called Siegebreaker, etc

This brings back so many good memories. I started playing in season 1 and still play today, it's great to see how the game has developed however the one thing I really miss is the old art style. Chapter 1 art direction just hits different to the 'improved graphics' we have today, it was just so unique

What's funny is many of these long gone features are still in STW which remains as OG as possible. You still move slow in water, take fall dmg from short heights, the zapatron, etc.

Who remembers the "Disco Domination" game mode... it used to take the place of "Team Rumble", but instead of getting a number of kills to win, you have to capture up to 3 points by dancing on them (it still has the respawns and the two large teams). It was a very fun long-term gamemode and when it was replaced by Team Rumble in C1 S7 (I started during C1 S6, and it was the last time I saw it I think), I thought it was just going to be one of many diffrent modes that could be cycled through... but it was easier to think it then the expect it. And it is a shame LTMs aren't in the game mostly anymore, food fight would be a good choice too

The problem with risky was that it was in the week in which you were able to get thevisitor skin by doing the challenges, so wayyy more people landed at risky

I will admit, there are a number of these experiences I did not encounter first hand, but I do remember a lot of it. I was a complete noob at the game and I didn't watch any Fortnite content creators at the time, not even you Sypher. My first skin was the Blue Squire, but I didn't bother progressing in the Battle Pass. At the time, the Blue Squire was known as the "noob knight," which isn't really the case now, because it's a sign of OG players. I remember one time a kid who I randomly matched up with told me to run through the swings. Fortunately nothing happened to me. I don't know if was because of a patch or the fact that I was on console, but I was lucky. This video was such a nostalgia trip.

How the old loot looked, so shiny. Best feeling when you killed someone and all the loot dropped

Fun Fact: the "meteor" in the sky wasn't a meteor at all but instead a skybox lighting glitch. Epic Games saw how many people were speculating about meteors so they kept it in the game.

9:30 there were a lot of the "search y cheats at x" challenges. And it would be bad because EVERYONE would go for it making it take forever to get. I remember one week it was wailing woods and there were only about 5 chest spawns and if you were playing with friends it would take forever to get

1: The one at Risky was the final one for The Visitor skin, and 2: Risky was not the biggest location. Had it been Tilted or Retail, it would've been easier. Not easy, just easier.

Almost enough to make me cry just thinking back. I mostly played Solos, but still, great memories.

The old guns looked so much cooler and a lot of the new quality of life improvements make it feel like a whole different game

8:45 This inventory GUI was re-used from Save The World, I believe. Most of the old SFX and VFX from Save The World was re-used in Battle Royale, but now all of this has changed. You could even see the Durability stat on Battle Royale weapons, even though it was infinite. This is because Save The World weapons have durability. (EDIT: Even the critical hit/chance stat was visible on BR weapons!)

I miss old Fortnite so much. The old graphics, the old UI, the map...when things were simple. Seasons 1-5 were the best times in Fortnite.

The Ninja and DrLupo impulse grenade wars. 10. Watching yt videos about Save The World scammers getting scammed. These are just the ones I thought of while watching the video.

Something that the OGs might also remember; Epic accidentally leaked the new aim test mode that had zero bloom, but guns had recoil. It was only out for a few hours and only a few streamers and players got to try it. I wish Epic would just implement that, idk why they wouldn’t

I started playing Fortnite in chapter 1 season 2 this really brought me back and I really grew up on Fortnite

I first played this game when it was still in beta mode, before chapter 1 season 1 was a thing. I ended taking a break due to studies and came back towards the end of season 2 and my god I haven't stopped playing since. The memories hit so hard. I still remember my very first win! Even though this game makes me rage and I threaten to quit, i always come back.

The pov December 2018 was nostalgic, lights off playing Fortnite with friends on Christmas break, what a vibe that was

Just watching this video brought back all the good memories me and my friends had back in the og days. I miss those days

This really makes me realize how long I've been playing this game lol. I still like the game but I miss when the game was more silly. Stuff like the boogie bomb, shopping karts, and wearable bushes were all great, and I miss when they would add fun things like that. Also, I'm not a huge fan of the artstyle that they settled on, I much prefer the more angular and exaggerated style of chapter 1.

Not fair the Bot got more recognition than the original comment. I will say. The more cartoony style was more charming. Nowadays Epic goes for realistic graphics. The rocks for example are all smooth when before, rocks were more angular. The pretty much abandoned that art style after Season X

The feeling of fear and excitement when you would be jumping up and down trying not to get shot but also missing every one of your shot gun shots

i would do anything to bring this all back, those days and hopping on after school with a full squad was just the best days ever to have that again would be a dream come true

Also, back in the early seasons, the range of the sniper rifle was unlimited. And in playground mode, you could set up targets far out at the build limit in the ocean and shoot it from the extreme other end of the map, at the build limit on that side of the ocean. Something over 8000 meters if I remember right. The Muselk sniper record video is still up if you want to see it.

16:33 #58 I really hope Epic sees this video and thinks about adding this SMG back to the game. It was such a fun SMG to use.

Watching this brings back the memories I started chapter 1 season 0 makes me think back at all the old memories of me and my friends messing around when we got home and hoped on Fortnite and not even caring about the win now it’s filled with nothing but sweaty toxic people who came after chapter 1 so many good memories Ty sypher for bringing me down memory lane

Man the old quests like risky reels and look lake really bring me back

I think that the big pots and even the med kits will be like the med mist soon. Like you only use what’s needed and then it gets stored until you need it next. Imagine if you have to use the whole med mist each time you were damaged

Then I started watching Wildcat and them and gave it a try and it pulled me in. I still play once in a while but not nearly as much. While I do miss a lot of the visuals and mechanics of OG Fortnite, the thing that i miss most has to be the community and the joy you got from winning, nowadays wins just feel like a thing you just do, but back then it felt so magical, like you just accomplished that one thing you've always wanted, the jumping up from the chair, the joyful screaming and such, i miss these moments a lot

i remember with low gravity one shot (whatever that mode was) you could go to paradise palms and eat the coconuts for shield. this made you 2shot instead of 1shot. Fun times
