My sister was their biggest fan, she met them and got autographs at the Ohio State Fair in the mid seventies twice. She was in a wheelchair her whole life and died in 1978. Every time I hear the Cowsill's I think of the smile on her face after meeting such wonderful people. Thank you Cowsill's for giving her and our family such a wonderful memory!

I had the opportunity to meet them in 2019. They are still amazing musicians. They were also extremely nice people. Paul stayed behind while Susan and Bob went to get ready for their show and talked to me for about 10 minutes. He talked like we were old friends. Fantastic experience.

I just met Susan Cowsill! I went skateboarding after the Happy Together show and saw someone riding bike and I had a feeling it could've been her and it was! It was very brief, I told her it was an honor to meet her. She was so cool and sweet and gave me a big warm hug. I got a little shy and didn't think about getting an autograph or anything, but the hug really made me happy!

1967, I was 12 yrs old. I absolutely loved the song"We Can Fly". I couldn't believe that I recently heard it only made it to#24 on the chart. Although only on vinyl, The Cowsill family spent the most memorable time of my youth with me. Their music , in a sense, Takes Me Home! Takes me back to a day in time I wish I could revisit! Much love to all of you! ❤️🙏

I have to tell you that they were one of the best bands in the sixties and seventies. I listened to them all the time and when I found out they were on Huckabee I had to find this. Susan has one of the greatest voices in music I believe and she seems so sweet. Hopefully one day I will get to meet them at a concert, chat, and get an autograph. I will be watching out for you guys the next time on Huckabee!

I've been a music junkie since I saw the Beatles on Ed Sullivan in 1964 as a kid. I'm also an amateur musician. The Beatles have always been number one for me but "The Rain, The Park and Other Things" has always been an unbelievably special song for me. (I hesitate to give it some sort of ranking but if I did it would easily make my top five of all time.) I have never heard it when it didn't instantly lift my spirits and I have never walked away from listening to it before it was finished. I have always linked it somehow with "Penny Lane". Both songs draw you in to an almost cinematic experience. You imagine yourself in the scenarios that each song paints for the listener. Even the colors of the scenes are similar in my minds eye which has always fascinated me. It wasn't too many years ago that I sat down and figured out the chord progressions for each song on guitar and although they aren't the same, they are remarkably similar. The melodies are obviously different but I've always thought that these two pieces go together in some way and that each is as good as the other. I wonder if any professional musicians out there who know both songs can comment on this.

mrfester42: To start with, they are both in the exact same key of B major (although Penny Lane goes into A major on the chorus. (I have perfect pitch) As you said, the melodies are obviously different. I actually didn't find the chord progressions all that similar, but I may have to listen again. What I DID find similar was the BEAT!! Thump thump thump without a prominent drum hit on 2 and 4. Kinda reminds me of 'Wild Montana Skies' by John Denver and Emmylou Harris.

James Short: IMO his politics suck, but I appreciate him for loving great music and great musicians and putting them on his show, AND playing bass with them. Mike does play a mean bass!! The music world desperately needs more of the Cowsills and less of Justin Bieber ....or Beiber..whatever! LOL!

Too bad that their dad and the dads of other wildly popular 60’s music groups such as the Beach Boys, Jackson 5, and Osmonds were abusive and overbearing.
