    @3:30 The Triton Underwater Breathing Apparatus does NOT exist and was a failed product. There was a crowdfunding campaign and they raised nearly $900,000 to bring the product to market. It was estimated that the device would need to filter 90 liters of water per minute to provide enough oxygen for the user, something this little device could never do. The product was never able to perform as suggested and all of its campaign backers were refunded. Sorry, Triton is just a memory, good try though.

    Major companies will use these and will cut down on the amount of injuries thus paying for them in a relatively short amount of time. I think it's a genius invention and should be implemented as soon as possible where applicable. But, that's just my two cents..... I could be completely wrong. I do believe they could probably do some cost-cutting and get the end product down to a reasonable amount of money. But, if people are buying them at 20 grand a shot, on a business sense there's no need for them to do any cost cutting....

  • @Ekonnahn

    @Ekonnahn

    @@jonny555ive Hence why I said the "majority" could forget about it. Joe Homemechanic who sees it and thinks "man, would that be nice!" isn't going to even consider it at 20K. A lot of small garages won't be able to consider it, either. This is basically going to be an investment only for major garages, usually the ones attached to a major dealership.

    Triton is a bigBS!!! The reason is simple: the human metabolism is far too intense, similar to dolphins, so much oxygen is needed than a filter can extract from water. The only being in the water that extract oxygen through gills is the shark, but the shark moves extremely slowly, only when detecting prey it attacks explosively, consuming a lot of oxygen already stored in its blood. Let us make some computing: 7-8 mg/L of oxygen in sea water. Man needs 0.6-3.6 g/min of oxygen, but s/he breathe a mixture of gases (atmospheric one) of 20% oxygen and 80% nitrogen, percentage identical with the gases dissolved in sea water. So it would be necessary an average of 2 g per minute, meaning (at a rate of 50% extraction) 5 L/min (100ml/sec.) of processed water.What force pushes that volume of water through filter? And an additional force to extract the gases from water may be needed as well.... So in theory it would work, but the filter must have at least 50% efficiency in order to cover the needs. And it had to have the same proportion of gases in extracted (1/4 oxygen/nitrogen). But here is the hick! Nitrogen dissolves in the blood at higher pressure underwater, and you need a slow climb from depth in order to avoid an explosive outburst of nitrogen in your blood that will effectively boil! So there are many hicks and tricks to be solved before having such a proper working mask ( the ideal depth would be 100 m to avoid boiling blood). Such a selective efficient filter was not created, as far as I know....

    Ehh.... I hate to burst your bubble here, but that oxygen filter? That's nonsense. O2, the oxygen we breathe, is 292 picometers across, whereas H2O, the water this gadget claims to filter oxygen _out_ of, is only 275 picometers across. It would filter the oxygen alright, but let the water through, _INSTEAD_ of the oxygen. Cool idea though, I'm guessing they got this idea from Star Trek

    Думаю самолёты с такими эвакуаторами авиакомпаниям дороже обойдутся в разы.Плюс никто уже закупленные и летающие в эксплуатации.не будут заменять или переоборудовать.Это дорого.

    It is a physical and chemical impossibility, so if you see one for sale don't waste your money. it is a con.

    The issues with ambitious international projects like Desertech @47:41 aren't so much of scaling up the tech, but the reaction of unstable governments, stone aged philosophies and local leaders who want to vilify progress. Not to mention that modern tech, even if under a collaborative effort represent a maze of haphazard "support" and licenses' from companies that seldom outlast their founders.
