I just want to truly appreciate all the hard work you do this is teaching me a whole lot. I am a new beginner and I’m excited and I’m taking everything every advice you have done so far.

Talking about plants, I've heard that you can also keep anubias with goldfish They are very easy to care for plants, kinda like the pothos but under water, and I've heard that they are too thick for the goldfish to bite through

I found that peace lilys and monstera did a great job at keeping my goldfish tank at 0-5ppm nitrates, not sure about phosphates though.

that is true. if your fancy goldfish came from south-east asia, then they prefer warmer water. as we all know south-east asia is a hot place and america is cold. the water temperature habitat is obvious.

I use API stress zyme $ 29 for one gallon 3 year ago now is $ 60 for one gallon last me two to 3 years for 60 gallons fish tank with 8 lions head goldfish and change water once 30% every 3 months or every 6 weeks for the fish to growing faster save me a ton of time carrying the bucket and waste a lot of water even I use it to water my garden feeding 3 times per day 3 minutes finish eating ....

You have 3 goldies in a 60 gallon? Is that best for 3? I originally only wanted 1 fish but i dont want to be cruel, so i researched a bit and they said 3 minimum in a 55 gallon. I'm surprised you don't have two smaller heaters in there, having two smaller ones in a long tank like that helps keep the temp more stable than one big one. That's how we did my 60G tank

Goldfish Question: some of the comet goldfish at my job have developed swollen abdomens and the inside is blue. The closest thing I can compare it looking to is an egg bound Betta, but instead of the yellowish color of eggs, it's a dark blue right in the center. It doesn't look like dropsy, and the fish are acting normal. It's very strange. I can't find anything online about it. Does anyone know what this could be?

Low/no water change tanks are where it's at. All my tanks except for my goldfish are to a point where the plants take care of the nitrogen compounds and I just top off the water. It let's you spend so much more time just hanging out with your fish!

Water changes also provide needed minerals from the water. We don't know how fast minerals get depleted. My goldfish seem happy with the weekly water changes. I do about 75% weekly. Why not?

I don’t think it was the pothos I think it might’ve been a terrible parasite, or a terrible bloat but I don’t know a lot about goldfish all I know about goldfish from Luke
