I’m black, I wash my hair once a month. My husband is Asian, he washes his hair everyday. Our daughter gets her hair washed usually every other day, sometimes once a week. We all have different hair textures and types. What works for your hair, works for your hair.

After I saw a video of men talking about smelling funky odors from their womans hair when they hugged them, I was so mortified 😱😳 it was a whole group of men and everyone of them said they notice when u haven't washed your hair in a long time, they don't say nothing cause they are not trying to start a fight. It made me think 🤔 so I try to wash my hair minimum 3 times a month. Won't force my opinion on u, just sharing a thought, at the end of the day it's your hair not mine.

@@DuckyToof you obviously don't understand how 4c hair works. She straightened her hair and she wanted the style to last longer so she didn't wash it. If she had washed it then it would immediately revert back to it's curly state like it did in this video. So the money she spent on straightening it would have gone to waste. 🤦🏽‍♀️ Sometimes it's better to just ask than make ignorant assumptions.

@@DuckyToof the scalp isn't like every other part of the body. So those comparisons don't work. It doesn't stink like any other body part would like armpits, private areas e.t.c. and one could easily get away with not washing it for a few weeks especially wearing a protective style. Plus washing it often will strip your scalp of it's natural oils and could result in extreme dryness or dandruff. At the end of the day, everyone is going to do whatever works best for them. 🤷🏾‍♀️

@@dralandralarkins8443 This may be true, but I believe it has more to do with her stylist and how she maintains her hair while being pressed. My hair is not close to being her texture and curl pattern and I can go a good 4 weeks. I could probably go longer, but have skin issues and after that time I have to wash it. @@mamicitaaa , I know we all fall behind sometime, but it’s good that you don’t do it often because the buildup can clog the pores on our scalp. Most people don’t think about the scalp as having pores but they can get clogged and sebum, which is oil can build up. It makes our scalp itchy and seem dry and then we put more oil on and create a vicious circle. And we can get that big scary itchy flaky scalp, and then it can turn into seborrheic dermatitis, Which is another bad dream. I have seborrheic dermatitis and the cleaner I keep my scalp, the thicker my hair grows in because it’s not fighting to get up through all of that stuff. I’m definitely NOT saying that this is your story. It’s mine, and a lot of other peoples. I’m just saying that this is what can happen when oils and sebum builds up on the scalp.
