I LOL'd when you suggested using Prompter to zone out of boring meetings. You guys truly hit it out of the park with this one. So many applications outside of content creation, this product will sell in a big way. ICYMI: Harris Heller suggested a XL/Pro model, and I think it's a great idea.

Yes, with display mode you can see any chat on Prompter by dragging the chat window onto the Prompter screen.

I've had good results with Caddy Buddy prompter with a DSLR and the PromptSmart app. This looks like a great unified solution. One feature in PromptSmart I really like is the voice-activated scrolling speed..instead of manual advance or speeding/slowing by hand. Do you have a similar (voice-activated) feature?

An real PowerPoint integration would defently make this an obvious business tool. What about PP presenter mode? I would say that’s not enough. The text is to small and I can’t have the presenter mode on two screen at the same time. Make camera hub extract the text current slide from PowerPoint and you have an 10/10 solution

Does that prompter work standallone, with no computer connected? I record my video's place where is no computer available.

I use a usb hub to get more usb connections. maybe a powered USB hub if you have power hungry USB devices.

Just sharing a heads-up about the Parrot Pro Teleprompter Kickstarter. Got redirected here after finding out that Josh Apter, the founder, missed the mark on the promised August 2023 delivery. Now, it's looking more like February to March 2024. Not cool, especially with reports of flimsy glass. Anyway, stumbled upon this alternative - way more superior with a built-in monitor and extra utilities. Estimated arrival? Nov 25th, 2024. Exciting stuff! Hello Elgato, After extensive research, I decided to go with Elgato, but setting it up on my MacBook was very difficult. It took me 4 hours to get it working using a workaround. My problem now is that when I add text in Persian in Elgato Camera Hub, the program freezes, and I have to force quit it, losing my text. Do you have any workaround? I expected much more from Elgato!!

This is a great product! After using it for 30 minutes shortly after it was delivered today, I haven’t been able to access Camera Hub or the DisplayLink Manager on my Mac OS running on Sonoma 14.2.1. For some reason, I thought that by quitting the DisplayLink Manager, it would turn off the Prompter. It did! And now I can’t access it or Camera Hub. Any ideas on what I need to do to resolve this?

Is it possible to use the prompter without the camera? I'm an artist so my camera is pointed down to the tabletop to showcase the item I've made. I do both live teachings and podcasts - so I'm wondering if this unit can be used without the camera.

Of course, a teleprompter is just a canted mirror reflecting a screen. But... why would you even need it if you don't use a camera behind it? The whole idea of a prompter is to look in the camera lens while reading a script so that you maintain eye contact. In your case you can just use... a cheap, separate display for the exact same effect.

How do you make your script transparent so you can see your camera feed as outlined from 1:00 to 1:05 in this video? I get the adjust the opacity component but where is camera feed being fed through? Are they using OBS? How was it accomplished in this video. I contacted Elgato several times and I was told the marketing department does not always inform tech support. Any help of explaining multiple ways to accomplish this is appreciated. (I am a Mac user)

I was wondering the same thing too! I can't find it anywhere, and u can't separate the windows in the camera hub app to execute that either.

I like the transparent script feature that allow us to see ourselves in the viewfinder with the script overlayed on top of the viewfinder... I saw it in the video, but I don't know how to enable. Any help?

You can adjust the opacity of your text display with Prompter under the Appearance settings in Camera Hub.

1:49 Actually the ElGato Prompter will not work well with MS Teams. The problem is the minimum window size of 800 x 670 of MS Teams (MacOS) that does not fit the screen size of the ElGato Prompter native resolution of 1024 x 600. If Microsoft enabled a minimum size of 800 x 600, MS Teams would also be compatible with the ElGato Prompter.

Can you hook it up to an iPhone instead of a computer?

Unfortunately, you cannot power Prompter using an iPhone. However, you can use your iPhone as a camera inside Prompter.

Are there really no ways to use keyboard shortcuts to control prompter? Or a bluetooth remote? That functionality is in essentially every piece of promoter software. If I have to buy a steam deck or pedal to get the ability to scroll up or down without clicking on my Mac, that really ruins the point of having a teleprompter.

So. I See Elgato Prompter doesn't have an article either, just like iPhone - or anything Apple, really.. Seems a like new trend has been born. I shall try to incorporate an article-less world in my life as well. Question is just: Why?
