Untrue, to be a narcissist you need to have an EXCESSIVE amount of self admiration, to the point where the only person you care about is yourself. What you're describing is a healthy amount of self confidence, something more people need nowadays if anything.

That doesn't make you necessarily a narcissist, you may simply be a little self-centered. Narcissists usually have other characteristics, such as inability to control their tempers, a sense of entitlement, a tendency to be manipulative, and little empathy.

+v alse OMG I AGREE, and I had even checked the test and really the test seemed rather ignorant. So if someone wants to succeed or be happy in their life thats' a narc trait? This test made it sound like if anyone had some shred of confidence its a narc trait which is irritating. there is a difference between self love and something manifesting into a narc trait and that test fails to show that. And a narc would've easily as well thought of themselves as modest in that test and what would that prove?

Please talk about extroverts, introverts and abriverts. No one can tell which one I am. But it's just a suggestion.

+Nin Aries oh I love that website! I've taken the Myers Briggs test on several sites but I always fall so close to the middle on the introvert/extrovert ratio that I've gotten both INFJ or ENFJ. A scam. While IQ does roughly relate to somebody's intelligence, it fluctuates so much that it is barely accurate. I'd assume that low scores on IQ tests are more precise than high scores, though.

I took the Narcissist personality test thing, and some of the questions were like, "I am a special person" or "I am much like everyone else" But isn't everyone special in their own way?

Altruist and empath are the best antonyms for narcissist. Shy and modest, no. Narcissists can be both of those things. What defines narcissism is egocentricism, self-admiration, and a superiority complex. That's it.

It reminds me of one of my primary school friend.... •Always wear gorgeous clothes •So self-important •No respect to the other students •Cry so easily when criticized

My dad is a narcissist, and we suspect a psychopath too. He is very emotionally abusive, and seems to think he is better than everyone and would get so angry if you even suggested he wasn't as amazing as he thought. I'm glad we don't have contact with him anymore

I've been told by my adult children that I'm a narcissist....guess what? I got a 3 out of 40, and it states on the site that the higher scores indicate greater levels of narcissism. I believe everyone has tendencies of narcissistic behaviour to some degree, some are just greater than others.

I know someone that is a narcissist. While this may not be a thing, I'd say it is in my own personal opinion. My ex and I were together for a while and since he rarely saw what I look like (only pictures of my cat and dogs), I decided to show him what I look like. A few days after, he texted me saying he couldn't be with me because "it was a matter of a relationship and being friends." I honestly believe a contributing factor of being a Narcissist is putting others day because you view yourself better.

Narcissists can be judged as a spectrum of selfishness.

I maxed out in several areas and got next to maxed out on others. I already knew, this just confirmed it.

I'm pretty sure I'm the literal opposite of a narcissist. 1) Wears flashy/revealing clothes? I'm trying to convince my parents to let me wear all black... 2) Lack empathy? I'm pretty sure I don't. Saying more than that would make me look prideful, but no. I would say I'm pretty empathetic. 3) Huge ego? I literally just tried to not look prideful. So no. 4) highly sensitive, angered easily? I may be sensitive but I don't get angry very easily. It usually turns to sadness if anything. 5) posts a lot on social media (to gain more followers/friends)? Not really, I haven't posted in a couple weeks. 6) Love attention? I'm so introverted I think I'm losing friends and my parents are concerned. Bonus: unagreeable? LOL. Extroverted? LOL. Sexual language? LOL. Likely to skip class? I'm homeschooled. So I'm definitely not a narcissist. That's good I think?

The thing that made the test difficult was the fact the statements on the test weren’t necessarily related to each other and are contextually dependent. I’m not special…but I am the only me on Earth which in a sense makes me special by definition. However, this is not in the sense that I’m above anyone. I’m good at some things that can make me in one sense superior to others but only in that aspect of the particular thing. The way the statements are phrased make the way you see them subjective, you can either answer some questions generally and some super specific which will lead to an inaccurate display of your narcissistic nature. As opposed to all of them being super specific or all generalized, which would produce a more accurate answer for each view.

Water is wet. The sun in hot. Students are stressed. The list of obvious things can go on

In extension to this, indeed we can't forget how narcissistic people are also prone to becoming psychotic since they are the exact type of people who are feeling the most insecure and neurotic! With regards to the appearance there not only very self-conscious of their appearance but also seem to have this "competition" with almost anyone they see in public in regards who can look superficially superior explains why there also very prone to magical thinking, malevolence and narcissistic envy and injury.

Narcissus was quite self-loving to an extent but one day a girl named Echo fell in love with him. He so much as barely noticed her and a goddess (can't remember if it was Aphrodite or Artemis or both) cursed Narcissus because she felt sorry for Echo. The curse, I think was so that Narcissus would fall in love with the first thing he sees. Don't know if that was supposed to be Echo or a pigeon, but nonetheless, he was near a pond and saw his reflection first. Echo then died in a cave (#CrushProblems) and Narcissus died where he was. It was then believed the nearby animals like squirrels planted a flower where Narcissus died and called it the Narcissus flower (it's an actual thing). Basically, he was one of the first Disney Princesses.

I realised the other day that I was acting like a narcissist because I've watched so many of my female narc friends/colleagues get all the attention from men over the years and I'm sick of being looked over as the shy, awkward, nerdy girl. I started dressing more like my very OTT sister, being more flirty, charismatic, sociable, and joking as if I actually have an ego. I've noticed it's annoyed a few people, who think the jokes are actually serious (i.e. I said 'yeah, I could get any guy I want' - I'm so used to having zero attention from men that I assumed it would be obvious I was joking. Apparently not). Other people have started to actually listen to me and give me the time of day, which I guess is a good thing. Although it makes me sad that I have to act so superficial and no one cared before when I was just a decent human with a brain. It's made me lose hope in humanity a bit. And I don't have the time or energy to constantly take selfies and post them on social media. Way too much work!

So, according to that test I'm apparently not a that much of a narcissist (even if I totally feel like one right now) but I can't seem to stop talking about myself and my recent accomplishments.
