Kev hick talks life
/ @becomingbetterwithkev...
I want to preface this video by saying any guy testing you in these ways is trying to gain leverage that he most likely can’t be trusted with. Sometimes I talk to women who experience such overtly rebellious behavior from guys they literally think to themselves what the hell is he thinking? Is this a test? Is he serious? He must be testing me? They usually tell me Kevin I couldn’t believe it. But don’t worry I played it cool though. I ask them why. They say why what? Why’d you play it cool.
Letting shit slide only lead to more undesirable behavior. Either correct him or make an exit. Don’t play it cool.
P
They say well I didn’t wanna show that it bothered me and be emotional. Listen ladies you don’t have to be emotional to correct a man. Say what you have to say in a low voice with a straight face, and then let the awkward silence ring like a siren 🚨. You can show you’re serious without raising your voice and spilling feelings all over the place. So again either correct them confront them or move on. Don’t endure undesirable behaviors in order to impress them. You’ll be doing it forever.
With that said in no particular order the first on the list is
They say rude or critical things to see if you stand up for yourself or correct them.
If you don’t appear to have a temper or you just laugh off every insensitive or inappropriate comment your showing him that you are willing to endure anything to be in his company and you like him too much to show your anger.
A man who’s insulting or rude from the beginning is trying to acclimate you to light verbal abuse and manipulation. A man who chooses not to watch his tongue or has no control of his mouth has to see if you’re compatible with his abrasive methods of communication. Don’t go for it or it will become the culture of your relationship if you get that far. Men also know that if a woman lets him talk down to her she likes him too much to stop his advances.
They don’t text back or go missing to see how you respond
Abandonment is generally indicative of indifference. However sometimes it’s strategic. Sometimes your reaction or obvious relief after not hearing from a guy tells him all he needs to know about who’s holding the cards. Many women panic or get frustrated or send a barrage of text messages. The power to piss a woman off is an indicator of attachment. The fears of additional and future abandonments make some women much easier to control. They make themselves fun and convenient to try to keep a guy interested. They break their own rules because they’ve felt his rejection before. Some would do anything to close the gap...anything.
They try to order you to do things.
Telling women what to do is an easy way to measure her eagerness to please. When a man is granted authority he didn’t earn he knows he is the prize and he knows you’re willing to chase him. .....continued

Kevin Hick, I found your video very helpful. You nailed it on so many struggles with my closest friend. I've been giving her advice for years, but directly from a man is what ultimately made the difference. The insight from you and your personal experiences is what gave her confidence. It gave her the understanding and motivation to change what she was doing in her relationship. Thank you for your honesty and reality.

Tender Agression Nah I think both sides, men and women encourage hookup culture but for different reasons, and not because of feminism. Ultimately though, relationships aren't genuine anymore because the good guys don't get attention and the bad ones are seen as default male by society. Society likes to point out the bad in men(especially colored), and assumes women are incapable of thinking for themselves so both sides suffer.

The worst part of all this, men will find a good and naive woman, who's decent and all this, who falls for them and they play her like this, and she still gets nothing. Actually i have found during my life, in a bitter way, that it's better if you love less. People around you will always love you more, if you give less, love less and put yourself first. Love yourself girls, never do something you don't like for anyone, neither your family.

Yep. After 4 relationships in my life, every guy would poke fun at me being naive (i have asperger's). The end result are jokes that I was a "rent-a-bitch" and I would lament why one guy called me this. Also it seems men feel the need to treat me like garbage maybe because my looks aren't conventional. Having a big je wish nose doesn't help. It also does not help my parents said that "no man will ever want you" when I refused to make my mother a cup of tea as a small child. I was taught to be seen and not heard. I'm 30 and my life feels over.

That sounds more like a drugdealer vs drugaddict relationship to me 🤔. The dealer is always in control over the one who wants to consume love. But I think u don't necessarily need to love less. U just need to love yourself enough and then set boundaries accordingly. If you do that you will never be an addict. And then u need to have a partner who also loves themselves as much. Also loving less could be really bad for friendships and raising children. If we don't only talk about lust but any form of love.

We all test...the bible says too...it is the type of test given. Most of these tests are foolery, but some men use to see what's up. Trust me I literally hate them and hope everyone is genuine, but it's not a given. Men will test how far they can go and who you really are... women test too, but not as often as we should. If the tests continue throughout the relationship get out it's a NARC.

If you are pure, better than others, clean of spirit, that debauched predatory way of regarding others can't be obvious to you. You don't think in that manner toward others, and don't imagine, cannot, that deficient gaze on you. It's beneath you- what would you know about it?

My husband taught me all of this when we were just friends, he taught me to have more respect for myself and to know my worth when it comes to men, it was so foreign to hear this advice coming from a man😂 He had a lil crush on me for 2 yrs and wanted me to be treated respectfully. We ended up dating and have been married for almost 11 yrs now with an 8 year old son and 5 yr old twin daughters.(3 kids) And he's still treating me like a 👸 sitting on a pedestal. My skin, credit score, savings account and everything has improved bc he constantly encourages me to strive for the best, he's building our daughters up the way I had wished my father to do for me. I prayed for this type of a man and God delivered🙏😊 (even though he gets on my nerve sometimes) but demanding respect when it comes to men will weed out the bad from the good , there's still some genuinely good guys out here y'all 💕✨💐

The only difference I see is, women of today have not kept-ed/maintained their dignity, along with moral VALUES. Sex, does NOT get/ bring about the respect and/or love any man. In any relationship there must be boundaries that cannot be crossed, if respect is to abide.

My husband taught me what respect is for a lady.. even though we had separated over something that could have been resolved we still talked. He passed away and I am doing fine with just my family and friends who also refuse to be disrespected by a woman or a man. I cant believe the manipulation that's going on in the world now. If people only knew that they are also playing themselves out of true meaningful relationships and true love..they'd stop it.. and. Romance? I was taught that by a great dad and my husband and my older brothers who bought valentine's cards and flowers and candy. Opened car doors. Etc.. I. Will be by myself before I can settle for less than that!! But this video needs to be shared all over.. this was awesome advice for women and men need to start treating women with respect or they are just receiving the same thing in return..just. my opinion. I know some women might think- i would never let a guy get away with these things, but when you really like someone you don’t even notice when you tolerate these things. I dealt with nearly all of these things with my ex because his D was so bomb, but things never got better. He kept being mean and manipulative and excuse himself by being playful. By the end of our relationship I was so stressed out and had super low self esteem. No matter how good the D is, DO NOT put up with these things!! Trust me they only lead to disaster.

I agree. I wasnt having sex but I was getting a lotta oral sex. Man, it felt good. I stuck around only for that cause I didnt like the way he looked, his personality, his ideas, nothing. I believe he knew also - that's why I was sticking around so that I could use him and THEN leave him for someone I deemed as "better", so what does he do ? He attacks my self esteem ! That way, I will believe I am not good enough and not look around for another man. Guys know if you're only sticking around to use them. They do and whatever resources they think you have your eyes on, they know that too so how do gain the upper hand and keep you around ? It's by battering your sense of self. What worked for me was having a STRONG sense of self. I stopped letting other people's opinions get to me. What they think of me is not my problem.

But to be honest with you I’m also in grad school training to be a licensed therapist which is why I feel inclined to warn people about that because I hate to see people suffering in situations that don’t have to and shouldn’t be that way.

I always appreciate it so much when guys tell us the truth about dating from their side, and the games some men play to warn us... it shows they're actually looking out for us and trying to help us get the respect and care and love we deserve too. And that they're not willing to just sit around quiet and watch other guys play us and use us and treat us poorly. Thank you so much for speaking up on behalf of girls. That's a good line from Matthew Hussey. I think it would somewhat work on a guy who isn't just trying to get laid but also wants a real relationship but isn't quite done playing the field. But then again what guy who wants a genuine relationship would send a dirty text way too soon? I wouldn't even bother texting a guy back who sends an inappropriate text too soon. At the end of the day sending a witty text back is only delaying the inevitable, he will eventually disappoint you big time.
