    NO Psychological communication is how every human being operates. There IS NOTHING unethical about it. 80% of how we communicate and interact is due to this. It is our first language. The ONLY people who label as 'unethical' are BORING, tedious and WEAK feminists and others, who will do the same towards ANYONE, who have used hard work, learning and personal evolution to become what they want in life. It's YET ANOTHER excuse to play the victim and demonise what they could use themselves. 21ST CENTURY FEMINISM IS FOR LOSERS. The entire liberal and Woke spectrum is about being a victim and portraying success by others as wrong. They can't beat them so they have to SMEAR them. Have a little cry because you couldn't and someone else COULD. Have a little cry because someone had the SPINE to look at themselves and admit their faults.     I’m sure the author knows this book isn’t free but is using the fake FREE ploy. It’s used everywhere. Watch out for this one peeps and the sale signs. They’re so dishonest. Once you realize you have been manipulated or the good moral word - lied to - spread the word. The good part is you won’t do business with these scammers again. They are going to make money anyway.     I had a doctor do this to me. I was seeking advice on an elective procedure, and he said, "If you were my brother I would tell you to do this." It evoked powerful emotions (and I ended up doing what he said, and it was successful), and I have also not forgotten it, and have used it myself.

    I've done this to doctors. I was really being earnest. That someone says/does this does not necessarily mean that they are being manipulative. They honestly just want a legitimate opinion.

    Pre-Suasion: things you can do before your message/conversation that improve chance of success. A. Background Image B. Unity (especially family) C. planting a seed. Your message is the seed, be sure to prepare the ground before trying to plant 1. Free giveaway for client, give to client family instead 2. ask for ADVICE vs opinion or ideas for improvement 3. asking for raise? do it right after good feedback from boss or customer 4. asking for donations? build unity between you and them or the recipient and them 5. Environment should reflect goals. ex motivational phrases on office walls 6. Get them in the right mindset before delivering the message (i.e. prepare the ground before planting)

    I studied marketing but decided against going into the field solely based on how morally corrupt many widely used marketing practices are. You'd be amazed the lengths major companies have gone to studying human psychology and they DO NOT CARE of it hurts their target. Bottom line is all that matters.

    In the car business, giving the customer a larger number than what you want is called "bench marking." When the car sales person says, "That car is listed at $35,000, BUT WAS on sale for a less during a special pricing sale." This bench marks the price high. The sales person only wants $25,000 for that car so they then say, "The sales manager might keep that special price, let me talk to him/her about keeping that lower price?" Now the sales person is ON YOUR SIDE and "fighting for you for a lower price." It is all in the game.

    Using an animated video is also a Psychological trick to keep people watching the video ALL THE WAY UNTIL THE END .. And to be honest, it worked on me .. I found myself mesmerized more by the animation than the actual content .. But the content is really good and interesting, so my subconscious brain still followed along with every word .. But totally fixed on the animations appearing in front of my face the whole time .. GREAT WORK!!

    I found the animations annoying almost for the reason that I see stuff like this as manipulative (think those ads that are like "here is how to make $1000 per day and then keep delaying and delaying for like 20 minutes. It is a bait and switch and I hate them), but I switched to a different page and kept this on as the audio and listened. Even so, most of the stuff on this video was pretty basic.

    depends on the company and what it sells but you are right over 90%+ companies are like the ones that denied you the position. What is more, they do hurt their customers but not as much as one may think - many people forget they were manipulated or even lied to, they even rationalize it and idolize the person that did that to them and they return for another purchase. It's true. That is why being an ethical salesman is so unheard off - it's just an uphill battle with your own morality without much pay off in terms of money. Sometimes it's worth it for the genuine human connections created along the way. Have you considered salesman position in an established small family business? They are a dying breed but they usually do care for their customers more than the big companies.

    Except for #5, which is aimed towards yourself, all of these only work if your goals or desires match with the other person’s. If there is no connection, it’s very easy to say no to other people’s requests. Anytime a stranger asks me something, with the intent to sell/give/buy/borrow/etc, I automatically assume they are trying to take advantage of me and this assumption decreases their chances of success with me. Even among people I know, I have to see my benefit in their offer before I can agree to anything, and it’s the extent of that personal value that will determine my response. I’m not saying I’m immune to these tactics, but it does make it harder to fall for them when you automatically assume there is a ploy against you.

    So all I would have to do to ta advantage of you would be to tell you about how people always take advantage of me, and then let you educate me in how to avoid being taken advantage of, and bingo, we got unity and I secretly buttered up to you by listening carefully to your advice. On top of that, you would now see me as a bit gullible and perfectly harmless. So now your guard is down and you see me as harmless. Meaning, now, I can manipulate you as I see fit.

Amid success and appreciation is a good time to ask for something that will benefit you further. 4. Identify yourself as your target market to spark relatability and unity. Leading to interest in the product. 5. Decorate your surroundings related to your goal. 6. Set the other person's mood before asking to get the response or action.

    Having a small but nice looking happy dog was a magnet not only to females but just a wide range of personality’s or sexes . The more that connect people to the same love or a strong familiarity that the wider the population are familiar with pets .     Yes, that's why L L Bean always has dogs throughout the catalog and usually on the cover. It causes an oxytocin release just to see a photo of a puppy or very cute dog and then people associate their products with love. Brilliant chemical ploy - it's literally DRUGGING people with their own brains to buy more stuff.

    I think the better lesson is to avoid accidentally dissuading people from doing something they would have otherwise done. And that is because the effect of priming is shortlived. Sooner or later, the pre-suading influence will be forgotten and the person will experience some degree of negative emotion.

    Idk , I once read a biography from Charles Manson, he didn't write it, but the words and history are his. Manipulation is quite easy if done in a way that takes a but of extra time, a study of the individual, and first finding what tgey seek in life and give that to then, be it love, loyalty, attention etc, then when ypu do , they become addicted to you in a way, a sort of love, tge slowly twist and use empathy and bold actions that deeply dive into the person.

    I use the family thing all the time when I am lecturing my music students. The wonderful thing with family is that it's a great way to use of you have to convey something historical. It makes people count backwards in time bring able to envision themselves and their relatives easier.     I ran an auto shop where we offered a free visual inspection of a car with a paid oil change. People kept demanding we do diagnostic work for free, such as engine diagnostics for a problem. After awhile I put up a sign saying diagnostics were not covered as visual inspection. People before would argue and even call me a thief if I did not provide expensive services for free. Afterwards all I had to do was point to the sign and never got an argument. The sign actually is false authority. I had to use illogic to fight illogic.

    This was one of, if not, the best clip on how to influence people. As a leader i have had my shortfalls. Mostly with communication. I never put enough effort in the prep work and creating a more conducive atmosphere. Closing a sale or getting a coworker's cooperation is not easy if they are in a negative mindset

    I’ve used the asking for advice as opposed to an opinion many times in many forms. To me it’s a matter of asking someone’s opinion, is asking for their thoughts, where asking for advice is asking for their knowledge. Any time you need something from someone you have to make them feel that you believe they are smart and competent first. I’ve also always used unity language, especially when trying to convince someone to do something. It’s a matter of using words like like “we need to change this for this to happen for us” instead of saying “you” and saying “our goal is” instead of “my goal is”. Those two changes in my approach to people has had a very positive effect on how people perceive me and any message I’m trying to convey.

    ​@@Exxeron-ob3tv The words the author of these thread used, that beforehand "you have to make people feel smart..." to obtain something for them; sounds like manipulation. It feels like manipulation the way the author of this thread said that beforehand "you have to make people feel that they are smart..." since it is better to believe that all people can surprise us and are able to give us a type of lesson, or knowledge. After watching this video these questions popped in my mind: To choose a word, rather than another because someone told us is more effective, is it manipulation? So if I use the word advice, instead of opinion, should I now start using opinion, so I don't 'influence' others? However if I choose the word opinion instead of advice, am I not still affecting them by my choice of word? I still believe that it is important to choose the words wisely. Imagine this scenario between a husband and a wife. So the husband washed the dishes and the wife puts the plates back in the cupboard. While doing so, she noticed a plate dirty and tell him: Look here, you left this one dirty. You should pay more attention when washing the plates. Imagine if I hadn't noticed your mistake and put it back in the cupboard dirty!" There is a chance that the husband gets triggered, feel offended and a disagreement is created between a husband and wife. However if she told him: Dear, I appreciate it greatly that you are washing the dishes. I noticed that this plate needs a little bit more cleaning. I will be grateful if you do it again." I think the latter example would trigger him less and makes him feel appreciated. If you say it SINCERELY, I don't think this is manipulation. I think a lot of lifelong suffering and disagreements would be avoided if we choose our words wisely.

    The thumbnail to this video is a psychological "trick," used in marketing. The way some KZread creators come up with a video titles(at times)is through psychological "trickery." I'm just trying to market my product, says Microsoft or Apple. Yes through psychological "trickery," some for bettering you and some for bettering just them. Good,well made video, that should never be illegal. Your video is an equal benefit, to you and viewer. In my humble opinion. 🤙

    This is a great example of how psychology says more about the observer than the subject. It is impossible to prove any of the claims made here in the first example no matter how interesting and cool they are. One could argue that women who shop for flowers are more likely to be single or a certain age or personality type or more shy or more passive/polite (saying yes to spare his feelings)etc… and maybe that is why the guy got more yes answers. It consciously makes sense to link flowers with romance and then say oh that’s why the results were more positive but still it shows more about the perception of the observer than the actual true subconscious power the flowers may have had.

    I had a highly ethical orthopedic surgeon use the family thing on me - I was 18 at the time (I'm 51 now and remember it due to the emotional impact it had) and he said, "If you were my daughter I'd not do the surgery." I didn't (nor did I get a second opinion) and I'm glad.

    My situation was the opposite. Had serious heart trouble.The surgeon wanted to perform heart surgery on me (for training I suppose). I was 22 at that time. He tried everything. I laughed in his face. I'm 54 now and I know for a fact that I wouldn't be alive today if I was accepting that surgery. All I had to do is to start drinking coffee every day and everything went away.

This entire video is basically "how to perform clickbait irl" Useful social engineering tactics, but indeed annoying when receiving them and noticing it.     This presents aspects of neurolinguistic programming as adopted in marketing and sales. It used to be considered magic, but psychologists have now identified the science behind it. It is unethical but ubiquitous. Some sites overdo it, too. You go into some ads and they tell you everything but how much it costs. I hate that, but then I am a bit older.

    "The Hidden Persuaders" and "Subliminal Seduction" were both books that discussed marketing manipulation. The former was written (Circa) early 60s and the latter was in the 80s.

    I studied psychology at degree level. Spotting the hidden message in advertising can be a bunch of fun, same as EPI tests when the 'real' questions stand out above the meaningless ones. The problem with listening to music, particularly for students, is conditional learning. Your not going to be allowed to listen to music while taking tests so the conditions are different and your more likely to forget something important

    Good thing I took that free course called, "Financial literacy" available in a government run career center. Our teacher there said making an appointment to get financial advice from a bank manager is not helpful to achieve both financial and personal success. That made experiences I had in the presence of more than one bank manager during life transitions easier for me to understand.

    Think it was Robert Greene who had a completely different take on the last point. He would say to think of what the other person wants instead of bringing up past favors. They don't want to feel required or indebted, but that they want to do it of their own free will.

    The way tp avoid these persuasion traps is to gave a set or principles or even a plan before you enter a known encounter or shopping experience. Know how you want to shop or what you're goal is and constantly remind yourself on these rules (or plan) as youre encounter occurs.

    There is some value in each of these strategies and tactics, but at best they are very minimal. Most will have no impact on your intended audience at all, subconsciously or otherwise. I found it very interesting that the single most important, compelling and powerful element that can be used to influence anyone wasn't even mentioned once in this entire video: emotion. If you really want to influence or persuade someone to come around to your way of thinking on something, then you need to find a way to make an emotional connection with them. Nothing motivates people more effectively than appealing to them at an emotional level. Far more than any of us ever realize, we are emotional creatures. If you can find a way to form some type of connection with them at an emotional level, you will have FAR more success influencing those around you than you will by using all of the other methods and tactics mentioned in this video combined.

    I think that the unity maneuver touches emotions in a lot of people. Certain people do get emotional and clingy about social groups, making them gravitate toward anything resembling that. As a devout practicing introvert and isolationist, that one stood out to me because that makes me want to run away instead of jumping in. As I'm far from the only introvert in the world, anyone using these ideas as control points needs to take into account that they will push some people away.

    This explains all the corporate BS stuff they have at work. It annoys me because I feel like I am being treated like a child with the goofy visuals and lame slogans. It must work on majority of people and since it doesn't appeal to someone like me I am just scratching my head and getting annoyed instead of being manipulated.     I love the drawings, they are very pleasing to the eye and make you enjoy the video even more. I used to work woth toddlers for many years. Yet I must say I was amazed at the backgroudn image- experiment.     Once you learn about a lot of these tactics it's a lot easier to avoid falling far them. The "Unity" trap sets of red flags for me these days, when I hear someone say "I'd sell this to my mother." or other such like I think scam artist pitch incoming. Basically anytime any makes a comment trying to appeal to emotions it's a red flag. This was before I learned about Psychological studies and tricks. I learned it more just from paying attention. Besides seeing scam artist in TV and Movies using a lot of those tricks. News stories about scam artist tricking elderly and others. Friends and family experiences of their own.

    I went to a management school called Quiver once. What I learned there about manipulating the workforce made me quit my job. Your managers and executives use all manner of tricks on the workforce, i.e YOU. The bigger the business, the more likely you are being manipulated to be more productive. Psychology is used on the workforce DAILY.

People love to argue to prove how right they are. People 100% know they don’t have to talk because the police tells them they don’t !!!!!! But they still do. 🤦‍♂️

    When a police officer asks to search you, the answer is always "no." If they have to ask, they don't have probable cause. If you aren't obviously wealthy enough to pay a good lawyer, you will be asked repeatedly. If you have been in trouble and you pleaded "first offense," when a cop asks "have you ever been in trouble?" Say "no." They will use a first offense as probable cause and search you. There are some wonderful people in law enforcement who risk their lives to protect and serve as they swore. They are under no legal obligation. If you are mistaken for someone who poses an immediate threat, any officer who executed you with their firearm will only be punished by their own consciousness. Executing citizens whom they feel are an immediate threat is a part of their job. There are good cops but they all operate under evil rules.

    A lot of sales people use these things, and don’t even know it. It’s more effective that way because a lot of people detect trickery. It’s why new sales people are poorly paid, and experienced ones make good bucks.

    "Protect others, protect your family, protect your grandma." *No studies done to support any evidence transmission is reduced* "You become a dead-end to the virus". I do enjoy observing these techniques. And just in case obviously anyone at serious risk should consult their doctor & take what ever precautions they deem necessary even if it's a new experimental type which is still listed as "For Emergency Use Authorization" only.

    I'm way too frugal. Even with the clouds page, you better believe I'd be comparing prices, or even going elsewhere if i thought I could find a better deal through a different site. I'm way too prone to price comparing. But a lot of that is something I've learned to do over periods of financial struggle where I had to be choosy. Even though I could afford more expensive things now, that habit tends to cling fiercely when I'm making any kind of financial decision. I've *learned* to weigh cost vs value as a deliberate action, and tend to scrutinize expensive perchases before settling on them to make sure they live up to their pricing. If the materials are good, the stitching doesn't show signs of being shoddy and the object seems like it will last a long time and I'll get good value out of it, than I can justify actually paying more for it. This is something I'm slowly teaching my current roommate to look out for, not merely buying the first thing that looks good or promising. XD If that banker pulled that same line on me, that would make me wake up and listen for a different reason. To me, that would sound like a giant red flag. I hate people who throw skeezy sales pitches in an attempt to get me to buy something. I'd be less likely to want it because saying what amounts to 'shoo, i'm letting you in on a deal' to me automatically has me wondering what strings are attached. Lines like that make me cringe and shy away from business people. I prefer you don't throw me a honey'd sales pitch, rather talk to me honestly and give me the information I need to make an informed decision.

    Based on my lifetime experience as a musician & guitar teacher, I'm totally shocked about the dude having more success with a guitar case in his hand/over his shoulder hahaha so far that's the biggest myth I've heard about playing guitar, "it gets you all the girls." Maybe in the 80's haha, nowadays you'll be pretty hard pressed to find many women at shows. It's not like 100% dudes, but it's definitely 75%-80%. And every girl I've talked to about it is like "you guys are crazy for trying to be so good at music, no girls care." As if that's why we're doing it haha, just for girls. If you're in music for any reason other than absolutely loving it, you're going to have some hard realizations coming up soon lol

    advertising, sales, a lot of pitches to prime or prepare the subjects mind to be more open. usually works if you DON'T pay atention to what's going on

    Interestingly, several years ago I had a home reno business. When I would visit the job site to see what the client needed, they would ask for a ballpark price. I always joked "Less than a million dollars." I didn't realize till now that I was employing that strategy.
