I was in the car listening to this song on cassette on my way to the hospital. I worked as an RN. I didn’t know if Melissa was gay but I was hoping so. Such a beautiful song and album.

I just hope Melissa knows how many people's lives she has saved with this song... literally... myself included... when she screams at 9:15 I always cry with relief, liberation and gratitude... as she screams for all of us, who had been treated like dirt...

So true. I recently watched Jenna Wolfe’s coming out, and it shows, how that feeling (realization) strikes. Did for me, with my now, wife, 24 years. Definitely a kinetic attraction. Be well.

I don't know how your life has changed since writing this (and I meant to send this from my personal account) but wherever you are now and however your life has changed....you are loved, you matter, and everything you feel is valid. You deserve to find happiness with any human being you choose and I sincerely hope you have ❤️

This is why I love Melissa... women our age remember when this BS was happening. And to see the gay bars being shot up by such mean soulless a$$holes today is just heartbreaking. I was told I was going to hell over & over again growing up. 🤦 Well if hell is where all the women are I'll gladly go there! And lost my very best friend, Selmon Crawford Ford, to AIDS.
