For the bonus question, a lot depends upon the volume of water flowing per second and the size of the pipes between the tanks. But in any event, #3 would overflow (i.e. fill) first - - even if it's only by a split second - - since the water must flow from #3 to #4 in order to overflow (i.e. fill) #4. So #3 must fill first.

You know what they say, if you buy ice cream with your own money 10 minutes after a cafe is robbed, you're 100% a suspect.

The tanks question was nebulous. "Which tank" implies the answer regards ONE tank. I guessed 3 which, under the stipulation, does fill first. Further, no description of full is given. I naturally considered the answer would mean full is where the input pipe is in each tank. I also disregarded the positions of the tanks relative to each under.

#1 it also looks like all 3 can just get on their tipy toes.

I never like this puzzle, water is by definition three dimensional, and they show a two dimensional set of tanks. Water has volume because it has depth, who is to say that the three tanks do not have an unequal depth - which cannot be seen in the video - and would therefore fill at vastly different rates because of the volumes of 3 and 4? The depth here is the unseen third dimension of the tank, even though it is side on so we can't see it, it is still there.

In the last one, the correct answer is 3. The time difference will be a fraction of a second, but 3 must fill first to create the pressure head to force water up the connecting pipe.

All wrong sorry to say. There is a clear indication of pressure as it is not sealed and open the atmosphere so the the only pressure exerted on the body of water is gravity, which means if Tank 4 is to be full then Tank 3 has to be, therefore Tank 3 is and can only be the first to reach capacity.

These are so easy. They seem like riddles you would get in those highlights magazines. Does anyone else remember those?

You know what's really sad, back in the day in school once or twice a year they would sell these books to kids (paperback stuff) in class that you would order and would come in a few weeks. They used to have all sorts of interesting topics. One was riddle-puzzle-problem solving genre. They were MUCH more thought out and complex than what I just watched. And this was in the 3rd grade or so.

(Numbering the men for ease: from top to bottom; 1, 2, 3) I think the logic they are using is, if the top man (1) holds onto the window ledge, then (2) grabs 1's legs and 3 climbs up them both. 2 then climbs up 1 and 1 then pulls himself up... You are correct though, as the way the answer was presented it was incomplete.. "longer arms reaches the window" doesn't really answer the riddle completely imo.

If answering these riddles make you think you are in the top 10% range of intelligence, you are not. 😂

DutchM Mail incorrect. The answers were obvious. The cafe had an ice cream sign. Man had ice cream that was not melted. Therefore man had to have been there. Car was wet underneath therefore car must have been moved. So on and so Forth. These were neither lies nor misleads. It clearly postulated that one of the options were the right option. Exactly the two answers I came up with. Also with the first one they don't mention anything to do with the height so you are left to assume they're the same height. If it was a riddle and that was drawn in paper I would consider it but it's a picture for a KZread video that often doesn't exactly represent the true situation so you can't trust it.

IIGrayfoxII Actually it depends on the intake flow, if it is fast enough, the resistance by the tube conecting the 1st and 2nd tank would be enough to allow the first tank to fill first

Actually, it isn't. And the riddle is wrong about it. It wouldn't be 4, 3 would fill, while the water going to 4 would stop before it started going up the pipe. That's how underwater caves work, they're just caverns underwater with ceilings higher than the entrance, because it stops filling once it gets to the top of the entrance.

DJ Springtrap Nahh that would happen if air in 4 couldnt go out (like underwhater caves) increasing the air pressure. Here its an open recipe, and the hidrostatic pressure of the little up section is compensated while 3 is filling up.

when the time is up for solving the riddle

the first three and bonus ones are full of assumptions: 1) assuming they're all different heights, assuming the smallest can handle the weight of someone standing on their shoulders... 2) assuming the ground is flat, assuming there isn't any wind, assuming the ground is the same for all three driveways... 3) assuming there are no other ice cream venders, assuming it's hot enough for ice cream to melt in the time specified... bonus: assuming the liquid used is able to flow through the pipes as fast or faster than the rate being poured into the first tank,

#2 - Sorry, but the puddles will form whether there is a car there or not. If you made the puzzle using snow, then you could say that the one with the snow under the car was away while it was snowing.

My driveway is not absolutely, perfectly level, and neither is anyone else's. There are areas of slight elevation and depression, and those depressed areas will fill with water when it rains regardless if there's a car there or not. So the presence of a puddle does not necessarily mean there was no car there, nor does the absence of a puddle mean there was no car there. However, if it was snowing, then no snow under the car means the car was there..

It depends on the pressure and volume being entered into the first tank along with the size of the pipes allowing release. Could be *1 or #4

People, in a hydraulics problem, there is no need to state in the problem that there is pressure. The weight of the water creates the pressure. It is the same as understanding that a ball dropped off the roof accelerates at 9.8 m/s^2.

The first riddle is wrong, only one prisoner could escape really and he will ditch is fellow friends.

Same time as no. 4. The title should read "tanks" not "tank". It's plural. Besides, gravity won't allow no. 3 to completely fill until the water level of no. 4 is parallel with the pipe's mouth.

What I want to know, is only one prisoner can escape, (I thought stand on the middle prisoners head with one foot so no need to reshuffle the order), but how do the other two get out of the window as well as the top prisoner?

Technically 3 fills up first. If the question was Which tank will overflow first, then 3 and 4 would be the correct answer.

3 would still overflow first as 4 cant fill without 3 being more full ... so once the rim is reached 3 will stop spilling water into 4 and only spill water on the ground

assuming there was no resistance to the flow of water, they would fill at the same time, but because of resistance, 3 would technically fill first

For the 1st question,i chose for them to stand on each others heads.Putting the tallest on top wouldn't work because he would be the heaviest that's why he was at the bottom in the 1st place and thus the rearranged formation would collapse almost immediately if he were to be on top.

I just said that prisoner 2 could throw prisoner 3 up to the windowsill, then prisoner 1 throws prisoner 2 up to grab 3's legs, then prisoner 1 jumps to grab prisoner 2's legs. Then, unless prisoner 3 is a pullup god, prisoner 1 could climb up prisoner 2 and prisoner 3 and over the windowsill. Then assist prisoner 2 climbing over prisoner 3, and finally pull prisoner 3 over. A bit complicated and it wouldn't work if they were weak or had a bad grip. But it's a dubious question anyways.

I said the same thing or they could stand on each others hands and or jump off of each others shoulders. Also they never mentioned they were different heights, you can't tell unless you look at the picture. However, being taller does not necessarily always make one heavier.

Its a little ambiguous. Depends on where exactly its considered to be full. Also depends on the flow rate of the faucet. If its a really fast high pressure flow, tank 1 or 2 could fill up before draining to the other ones.

There are too many unaccounted variables to even attempt an answer to these questions. You could have a thousand correct answers and it would be up to the person asking the questions to correctly set out the scenario in a manner that one could extract the 'correct' answer. These are nothing but basic problem solving questions with a random answer being deemed correct and all others false regardless of whether the outcome is the same or not to the appointed correct answer.

Number one is correct because each man is standing on the others shoulders. Say one man is 3 feet tall, the next 4 and the third 5.... 5+4+3=12. However, the tallest man will naturally have longer arms, so he can reach farther vertically. If the taller man stands on top and the shorted man on bottom, the sum of 3,4, and 5 is still 12 but the 5 foot man can reach farther with his longer arms, allowing him to get out.

Puddles form the places where water flows to, and it has very little to do with whether there was something sheltering it from above, heck it might even help since a larger area of recieved water might flow to the same place. Furthermore, he is also the one least likely to have been the perpetrator, as there would have been wet tracks if he had left; the puddle surrounded the driver seat door, so if he left through it he would have gotten wet shoes which could leave a wet track - and we see no such track.

the water puzzle is basically correct but forgets the time element . as water weeks it's own level 3 ad 4 fill first , but in a millisecond of reaction tank 3 just beats out tank 4.

Many of these answers didnt even make sense to me.

What he's saying is that not all can leave. After an inch or so disappears (there wouldn't be a few INCHES in arm length) there still wouldn't be enough length to get them out. It wold be just lonely tall dude.

No, he can't Crazygurl. Unless he hangs from the window by his feet, his arms won't drop down low enough for them to grab them. If he did that, as soon as they grabbed his hands, he would fall back into the prison cell because his toes would not hold onto the window. They'd have to throw the bed sheet up to him and use it as a rope.

The "answer" I thought up was this: If the tall guy up top could grab the windowsill, or the edge of the window, the other two could climb up his back. So, you have A B and C, A being the tall guy with long arms, B and C being the other two prisoners ( arranged like so - top to bottom ): A B C So, C climbs B's back and then A's and climbs out B then does the same for A Then A climbs out And thus, they have all escaped There ( A would have to be pretty buff tbh tho but this is the only way I thought it would work if the 3 of them were in an empty isolation cell, as is shown on the video )

Didn't get #5, I still don't understand that one.
