This is my 6-month review of Etsy vs Shopify and how much I made in just 6 months and you can too! (Realistic Results)
I can't believe it has already been six months since I started this Experiment. I set out to prove that you could make good extra income selling digital products in 2023. I also wanted to figure out which platform was truly the better option to sell on.
This month, we look at the numbers for October and the totals for both platforms over the past 6 months to see which one was the better option for starting a new business!

I think that tends to be the assumption! I have always been curious because that $39-a-month fee scares people from trying Shopify but it actually ends up being cheaper!

@@WendyJoDavis I am looking into starting an online shop. My impressions of Spotify and Etsy are this: Shopify (from what I can tell) does very little, if anything, to get customers to peoples stores. Etsy is both a storefront and a marketplace. Etsy apparently has significant fees for this but they do a lot to solve the problem of getting customers. This makes Etsy more attractive because it looks easier to be successful.

Thanks! Yes, for this experiment that’s what I did! I feel like the strategies could carry over to any industry though (as long as it was something that was allowed on Etsy!)

@@WendyJoDavis Personally need to stick to just etsy myself shopify would be 100% new for me want my etsy so a 100% livable wage first before i attempt to expand seems you do this as fulltime job so you got more time to do this? but luckily my etsy is at least to a solid 2k minimum but i do physical products.

What is the speed score of an Etsy store? I have never heard of that before. Where do you find that number? Thanks ☺

That’s actually for Shopify! It is just how fast your site loads. I’m sure Etsy has that but they control it on there end. On Shopify your store speed can be affected by apps you add on, videos that are embedded, the size of your photos etc!
Hey.. My etsy account got permanent suspension.. Is there any solution for that? I didn't violated any of the rule. Also I'm not able to contact etsy support team

😒My shocked face… a couple of questions. Is it a brand new shop? Sometimes they do that when you’re new and you haven’t filled out all of your info yet. You should’ve received an email with the ability to appeal or a reason for the suspension. Here’s more info. There’s a link to appeal on this page as well. help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/6298920789271-How-to-File-an-Appeal-for-a-Permanently-Suspended-Account My recommendation is appeal if you can but start a Shopify store!!

First of all thanks for the reply. I'm new to the store, when I started my store it was showing suspended.. Then I appealed for that and the support team have contacted. And everything was moving fine.. But after my first sale I got a mail that my account is permanently suspended.And still I don't know the reason of it🙁

Do shopify also requires listing and other charges like etsy?
Your friend isn’t very wise giving you access to her Etsy shop. If yours gets banned for whatever reason hers will too due to shared IP address.

I access from her house or have her record for me. Not my first rodeo with Etsy. They love to shut people down for no reason.
