I lost my 15 year old ACD/BC mix in April, after he lost his battle with prostrate cancer. He was my soul mate! My daughter got me a 6 week old female ACD puppy. She is very smart, but I can already see her stubbornness. I'm now disabled, and she is putting a strain on me, but she keeps me as active as I can be and her as much as I can. I was healthy when I got my ACD/BC mix, so exercising him was no trouble. I was diagnosed with 3 fatal lung diseases, 1 of which was probably caused by the fact I was an animal services officer for most of my adult life. I have always loved ACD's, as they've always proven to be the smartest breed I ever encountered. I do miss my soulmate, but in his honor, I've named my new pup, Spirit. She is full of spirit and I like to believe my previous baby may be in her just a bit. ❤️❤️❤️

I have delt with Cancer in my GSD. And it was devastating. . My neighbor brought over his tractor to dig a grave. But then he told me to put her in a trash bag , so no animal would dig her up. My dog was never trash. I thanked him and sent him off. I had her cremated. Good thing since 8 years later we moved I was able to take her with me. Now I have 2 dogs. 3 cats and my Sister ashes. Made a table with candles and pictures of all. Loosing a dog is harder than a human. . No human ever been happy to see me come home from work. Or put themselves in middle of trouble. My dogs ( both GSD ) Were way better than any person ever was or has been. Its a devastating loss ,

John. Their is no shame. in letting a trainer help you out. I too have lung disease's. Never smoked a day in my life. When I got my ACD I was much healthier. She run me raged. Bit the crap out me. But she grew out of that. Your dealing with a very active dog. That needs constant attention Or she gonna get into trouble. Ya She will grow out of it. But will you be Ok. . Let someone you trust, take her for a few hours and wear her butt out. Teach her not to mouth everyone. ( they do ) It will be easier on you. And you still get to have her in your life. Good luck. Keep your rescue inhaler close by. ( I have found myself without . and it was nearly the End of me ,) I understand what its like to not be able to breath in or out. Be carefully Sir.

Wow. The only time I walked my Blue Heeler off leash, he promptly chased a cat he saw the second we walked out my house. I opened the door, he saw it, and took off

Your an excellent trainer. Very patient. . Steady . , And you use a treat / loving hug as a reward. All these dogs want is a job. They were bread to work. ( Looks like you got a workout also ) I believe the owner is going to be very happy with the results. But they need to keep up the training also. You cannot let a Cattle dog mind get bored. That's when you get problem behavior. Always need a job to do. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Great. Trainer

im on my first blue, Im disabled due to chronic spinal problems from birth, i have the time to train him, my 3 month old stumpy tail named smokey, so i hope and wish i can reach this level with him one day as he matures, rn he’s clumsy and very playful but he knows how to sit, bark, and shake hands with hand signals, i feel like we are doing great! wish me luck!!

Wow, Really impressive. I'm in Australia and surprised your allowed to take a dog into places like that, especially off leash. wouldnt be allowed here.

This poor dog is so anxious. Constant lip licking, low posture, ears pinned to head, yawning, very slow and careful movement to avoid a stim (leading to a far slower down and position changes), whale eyes. So many appeasement signals.

Agree 💯. If you know how to read behavior. This is only a dog learning that the electric collar means scary things are about to happen. And this woman looks so impressed with herself that she can use pain to create enough fear and stress so that the dog will allow her to put him in any position to avoid the pain. This is a very unhappy 6 month old puppy.

I am lazy and don’t want to train my ACD myself, how much would it cost to train my dog?

How can you consider this good training for a puppy? He's not learning how to learn or any joy that is part of learning, he's completely intimidated into submission to avoid electric shock. He's doing whatever behavior he thinks you want in the moment to avoid electric shock. This is a 6 month old puppy for goodness sake. 🙄
