I’m not trying to just throw out some blanket statement of like “think positive thoughts and positive things will happen” BUT I really have come to believe that the most significant difference between successful people and nonsuccessful people comes down to one simple thing…and that is mindset.
A simple mindset shift can change not just my day, but my week, my month, the course of my year, and yes...even my life. I'm sharing the ones that I think have made the biggest impact to my life, in aspects from career to home.

In your 20’s you worry about what people think of you. In your 30’s you mostly stop caring what others think of you. In your 40’s you realize people aren’t thinking about you. 😂

You are pregnant? Congratulations!! 🦋🌸. --I have always been a negative person. I’m 58. The last 10 years or so I finally realized I have to stop overthinking. Accept what happens. Don’t dwell on what might happen. Take life one day at a time and be happy with what you have and who you are!! Wish I had done that a long time ago. I was in a wreck 5 weeks ago. Totaled my van. Instead of looking at the negative parts of the situation, I am looking at the positive. The only part left was the drivers seat. I was only hurt by the airbag and seatbelt on my chest and stomach. I am OK. I am thankful God saved me.💜🦋-. A few years ago I would have fell apart. I would have dwelled on it. I would have worried about all I lost. -Instead I am happy. I am alive.

My most recent mindset shift is if I really want to do something just do it. I was asking others first “ hey would you be interested in this activity today or what are your thoughts about doing this”. I was frustrated and angry at others for not joining in. Now I say “ I’m doing this today, join me if you like” most will join me but if not I still I’m happy to be doing what I planned. I decided that I can just be me.

Yes, I’m newly divorced with Ana cult child with Aspergers and other issues, been trying to get him on board to make NEEDED changes and adjustments to our day…it’s been impossible, I too am adhd, we stay up when we should sleep, my ex was on a backwards schedule, so we were too…after almost 2 years of trying, and failing with my son, I decided just yesterday, I’m going to do what I need to do to make necessary positive healthy changes, then once I have succeeded, it’ll be easier for him to join in. But enough waiting on others, my ex took 22 years from us both, he was toxic as ever, it’s time for ME to live MY life after a life of service to others…life is short, need to do what makes you happy my dad always said! So I’ll be the role model he deserves and we will put the past behind us!

Holy awesome, Kallie! When you talked about exercising to be strong and healthy, rather than for looks, I actually started tearing up. Yep! Same here. I used to do it for losing weight or looks but now, in my late 50s, I see others around me aging, getting weak and unhealthy and out of shape. Naturally we will start losing muscle mass starting around 30 but it really accelerates around menopause (50-ish) for women. I want to age WITH STRENGTH and grace and so I'm back in the gym, weight-lifting and it feels amazing. I don't care as much what I look like as I do about my health and strength and balance. Thanks for this video -- what a lot of great wisdom! XO!

Your section about exercising to make sure your body can do certain things is a conversation I recently had with my son. He is working to become a personal trainer and is using mom for practice. When he asked what I wanted out of a plan, my immediate response was, “I want to be able to wipe my own butt well into my old age.” 😂 TMI for some, I realize, but talk about a mindset shift! Thanks for all your videos. I really do get so much out of them.

I hear you on the “body breakdown”! I’ve had 6 kids in 9 years, and I am 35. Older bodies and many pregnancies really does a number. I find that the best exercise is not exercising. I bike because it’s fun. I play sports and run around outside with my kids. We go on walks to burn energy and get out of the house. I totally agree that exercise should never be to lose weight. It’s all about being healthy and feeling good.

Another mind shift that has helped me lately is “something is better than nothing.” I tend to be all-or-nothing, whether it’s exercise or decluttering/cleaning, etc. But now I’m seeing how even doing a little makes a big difference over time. Love all your videos, and love how you’re always so genuine :)

From By Samantha March I learned ‘2-a-days’ for when you’re giving yourself grace. If you skip an important habit 2 days in a row, you can’t skip the 3rd. If you indulge in a habit you’re trying to get out of 2 days in a row, you can’t do it on the 3rd. I’ve been pretty rigid with exercising every day for the past 2.75 years, and I need to cut myself some slack because it’s obviously a habit now, and was trending a little disordered. So this technique is helping me skip a day or eat something not on my plan for the day. I know BSM was trying to create new habits, but I kinda repurposed it for what I need.

My husband had heart surgery when we were both in our 50's. I knew he was not going to be able to do the physical things he used to, so I decided to exercise to stay stronger physically for the both of us. We are now in our 60's and I have hung onto that same mindset. When I was younger it was all about looks. Now it's about living with more strength and physical freedom. Great points! Thanks!

All great tips. My favorite is not letting society dictate paths to success. There is no one size fits all and no time line. Also, some have more difficult hurdles and may not look successful to society when in fact they are incredibly successful. Success has different meaning to others and what you feel is important might not be applauded by others and vice versa. If we all have the same idea life would be dull. Also, you can change any time your goals are not serving you or you have a desire to go a different path. Have you considered doing a Q&A catch up in honor of reaching your one million subscribers?

@@serenabryan1364 I ccarried a tiny notebook with me & when I caught myself saying something negative I marked it off and then changed it. So if I dropped a spoon and called myself an idiot I would say to myself "That's not true. I'm human. We all make mistakes. It was an accident." People use talk negatively to themselves because they either feel if they don't do it, no one will and they won't achieve their goals or they deserve to be punished. In my case it was both. However it prevents us from achieving our goals and no one should be punished for making mistakes. I started looking up self compassion prompts and doing those. And like someone else mentioned, I try to talk too myself the way I would my own mother, sister, child, husband and friend. Since I've been treating myself better I've achieved so many goals I struggled with FOR YEARS!

The other day I was watching a video by Natalie Bennett, a q&a with her husband, and she said something about how it wasn’t about who was fulfilling a task, because it‘s never gonna be a hundred percent fair, but she sees it as everyone helps the home - somehow this makes me feel so much better about household tasks. I also heard Joshua Becker mention that if a thing needs to be done it might as well be him who does it - I try to say this to myself a lot of times and it helps, too😊

If what I want the most is to feel healthy but what I want right now is candy, I need to think for a moment about my next move. To this end, I try to ask myself whether I'll be happy about it if I took the "what I want right now" option. Will I be happy I ate that candy bar? Sometimes the answer is yes, but usually it's no. Easier said than done, but I've gotten better at it.

Hey Kallie! Great video as always. I follow these 3 step thing of which you have completed the first step. 1st step is giving others the benefit of doubt as you said, when someone does something that seems offensive they might not have meant it that way. Giving them the excuse until you know for sure. 2nd step is, to do good to those that have hurt you or wronged you. These steps are actually in them selves processes so for this one you start building from your first step and that is that when you learn to give excuses for others you start asking them if they need help. Example: you invite someone and they decline in what you feel was abrupt or even rude 1st step you excuse them for there behavior thinking maybe they were in a hurry or something was going on. 2nd step you call them back at another time to ask how they are and often they, if close to you, will apologize up front and sometimes they don't realize how they came off and didn't intend it that way at all. (This has happened to me, and it's very freeing) and the goal is here to become empathetic and also reach a place where what others do won't reflect in your actions And lastly 3rd step is to give thanks for everything you have. So you start with the thinks that make you happy, ones you are used to that you'll find yourself giving thanks about the normal things that might seem forgotten, and the goal is to reach a place of gratitude where you can't be wronged, where every failure becomes a lesson and every misstep becomes a dance. Basically to learn to find the positive in even the hardest situations and obviously sometimes it won't be instant or even possible but the thought is to have that support system to get through then.

Your tips have Already helped me after, maybe, 6-8 months! 5 Minute Clean and doing "something that tomorrow me will thank me for" have been game changers and made me more than ready to adopt "you're Never going to feel like it" and "the ill disciplined are slaves to their moods and their passions". That last resonates Too much with my personal history and your reframing is falling on fertile ground. THANK YOU! PS, you look So Darling as you make human #3! Working out is like if saving for retirement gave you more $$$ TODAY! Of Course, it's worth doing!!!

I've learned boundaries. 1.) You don't have to tell every detail or anything at all when it comes to your life. And same vice versa (My pastor told me 9/10 our problems are because of our mouths. That we don't keep quiet or we talk too much. Just learn to listen and don't say anything. Or in other words think, think, think and then don't say anything.) This helped me so much with not sharing much info. Also, knowing who your audience is. Don't assume that if you are close to someone that they need to know everything. 2.) This goes especially towards parents. They don't need to know everything. 3.) Learning that others try to control your life, and it's not their place. There are boundaries. Especially when dealing with Narcissists. Like it's okay to say "no" or you don't want to.

A mindset that I think is very important when being motivated to do things or stick to new habits is to do things for you not for other people. Habits and actions won’t stick if you only do them or feel like you should do them for other people. Do the action for you because you want to do it or for it to be done. Then you won’t be frustrated about it not being done when you don’t do it or wait for someone else to do it. Plus your motivation to do it will be higher and it will be more likely to get done.

I love that you say you used to think. "Really, just put it out into the Universe & it will provide it...Because (you) always believed you were in control of your life & if you work hard..." The way I see it is, "Putting it out there IS the way to get it." Don't get me wrong, you still have to do work, it isn't just say or write it & forget it because it will somehow happen. We ARE in control & all deserve happiness, & love!

I'm going to save this and listen to it every now and then. I'm retired, and I get so lazy! When you have a job and raising children, you know that you have to get things done when you have the time! When you have all the time in the world--doing house cleaning and dishes isn't a priority!! The old Scarlett O'Hara " I'll think about it tomorrow". Or in my case I'll do it tomorrow! And like you said tomorrow I don't feel like it either! Especially dusting--i hate dusting!! Thanks for the motivation.

I really didn't care about ppl thought of me ever since my 20's, teenage years, yes, but in your 50's doesn't matter even more; too exhausting. A waste of my time.... but, this was definitely a good listen. I started hit yoga, pilates a few years back and increased to going 4 days a week for two years. I have a treadmill and run on those off days giving myself Saturday off for rest. I have made it a routine to rise at 5am is where I make sure my kitchen is clean, do any laundry and such before my 6am class. Then off the work 5 days a week. So, I've instilled this routine fur a consistent 2 years. Yes, I do it for body and mindset, looking slim at my age can be challenging, but I do it for my mind, body & soul. I have two sons 27 and younger one coming up on 24, the years fly by.... So, good luck to you and yours and with that new addition, its going to be a fun ride. Motherhood was by far the best time in my life. Shout out from the Bay Area of California 😎🌴

Kallie, you are an incredibly wise woman for your age to say that if we say “such and such about someone says more about us than them.” I think by now, in my 78th year of life, I have learned these lessons. For God’s sake I certainly hope so! Good for you. Developing yoga practices while pregnant. Maybe I have never developed the right motivation. So scratch that one for me. I think I’ll quit while I’m ahead. ❤️ Three Babies in four years. I knew I could never do it and I’m so glad I didn’t have to try. I had wicked postpartum after my second baby and of course I had his older brother running around. I wish you and your hubby much love and success with this new birth and bringing the child home. I am glad that you have fresh choice. I’ve tried it and it wasn’t quite as simplified as I would want. I think today they have more easy menu items than when I was buying the dinners. ❤

👋 Hey Kallie! Just wanted to drop by and say thank you for sharing your amazing Mindshift Secrets with us 🤗! I’ll be adding your tips to mine. It is fascinating the impact on what you think has on your life. My first rule is, "It doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to be done" 🙌. I used to get so caught up in perfectionism but now I remind myself of this all the time. And my second rule is, "It doesn’t matter where I start, it’s where I finish" 🏋️‍♀️! I've been using this in my workouts and it's helped me get started, which is the hardest part. I appreciate all the time and effort you put into creating your content and helping us improve our lives. Also, congrats on your upcoming new baby! Wishing you all the very best ❤️.
