I grew up in the inner city but our small yard had a large apricot tree. Not only did I love climbing it but it gave us loads of delicious apricots. To this day the taste of apricot reminds me of summer.
I coat mine in chocolate and freeze them.👍 Thanks for the info.

Seriously? I actually think I might have to try that!
I really enjoyed watching this! Sometime I'd like to learn how commercially dried apricots are made so they're still soft and yellow and sweetened with added sugar. That apricot nectar looks incredible!!
Do you have recipes for apricot jam?

Welcome!
Beautiful apricots!
I canned apricot butter. It's a very concentrated flavor.
Very informative. Thank you for this video!
Thanks for a great video. We have three young apricot trees, but no apricots because of a late frost. Next year!
oh boy I actually soaked some in desorano (im not a drinker) and they were delicious especially when i put in orange juice
We got a lot of apricots too! I flash froze on cookie sheet, then vacuum sealed and froze! Thanx for more ideas
Excellent as always. I wish you would do an update on the solar food dryer though. I don't understand what a pro panel is.

We need to make one because we have materials for more of them. This one was our first try. It works great!
Nice overview. I have some in the wild APS waiting to be processed. Little freezer so will can process for first time. Also made an apricot pie with crumb topping -- rich! What do you do to wash/clean them? New sub here.

Welcome! I like to put the apricots in a large bowl and fill it completely with water. Then I drain and repeat. Sometimes they get bird droppings on them and I want to make certain I clean them well.
There are some wonderful recipes online for stuffed dehydrated apricots. You might try some of them and add the extra ingredients to your storage if you like any of them.
I just asked my daughter if she wants anything from the farmers market tomorrow. She said apricots for freezer jam.
Youn know... I"ve never had anything apricot. Just had another interview though, day 142, it's a job I used to do but I"ll be going back at a fraction of the pay I made when I was there if they extend an offer, fingers crossed though!

@@TheProvidentPrepper thanks!
Freeze dry them and apricot jalapeño jam. Sadly we do not have an apricot tree, I have not been able to find one for purchase around here either.
I haven't had apricot in years. I wish I could get fresh apricots.

I did upick one year they were so sweet so so delicious
😊
When your cot tree ripens, sometimes your life does not allow to process. I wash, half, pit and freeze. Then when I'm ready to make jam, nectar, fruit leather, etc, I pull a gallon bag out and it works perfect! That's my hint for the day.

Forgot to say that you freeze the cots in gallon bags and then pull out when you can make jam etc.
Central CA cots were a bust this year! On 3 trees we got about a dozen cots 😢

Same thing happened to me in the bay area. I got 3 cots and shared them with birds (I cleaned and ate the half they did not touch- that's how much I love them). I think this year, it was not the rain but wind that did not allow the bees to pollinate. Praying for a better harvest next year!

Go to Hahn road in Arbuckle north of Sacramento. The apricots were fantastic this year! They usually only have them for about 3 weeks.
