My home bowling alley is in South Bend, Indiana consisting of 70 lanes, named Chippewa. Been bowling there for around 12 years and love every minute of it.

I live in Georgia and I bowled at Chippewa a few weeks ago. Was definitely crazy seeing all those lanes layed out like that.

RIP to some of the MONSTER SIZED bowling centers that are no longer with us: Freeway Lanes in Wickliffe, Ohio (96 lanes at its peak) Showboat Casino's bowling alley in Las Vegas, Nevada (106 lanes at its peak) Edison Lanes in Edison, New Jersey (112 lanes at its peak) Inazawa Grand Bowl's second floor (which had an ADDITIONAL 116 lanes in a row)

Showboat used to be THE place to bowl in Vegas. Home of the "Showboat Invitational" which was almost like the modern U.S Open

Also Stardust Lanes in Cleveland OH. I believe it had in the 90s for lanes as it was in an airplane hanger. It closed due to snow collapsing the roof and it was knocked down after that.

Satellite Bowl in Dearborn Heights, MI had 84 lanes. It closed in 1994. Mark Roth went over $1,000,000 in earnings there in 1984.

I've bowled at South Point and was in awe by the number of lanes and how spotlessly clean the place was. I'm adding all of these bowling alleys in the U.S.A. to my bucket list.

80 lanes at Boardwalk Bowl in Orlando. This is a converted Walmart, and it looks like it when you walk in. Beverly Lanes in Niagara Falls had 64 lanes when I grew up there in the 60's and 70's. But it didn't seem that big, because it had four separate bays with 16 lanes each. It was common back in the day for centers to have lanes on opposite sides of the house, or even upstairs/downstairs. Today, everything seems to be just a long, boring string of lanes. And walled up at that! (some of you will know what this means)

I'm proud to say I've bowled at two of these centers. Thunderbowl way back in the 80s, and South Point on the regular (I live in Vegas). Thanks for the great video!

I've bowled in tournaments at Thunderbowl. Also in Metro Detroit, there is Imperial Lanes in Clinton Twp, that has 80 lanes. There also was Satellite Bowl in Dearborn Heights with 84 lanes that was torn down many years ago to put up one of the first Home Depots in the area.

My favorite bowling alley is Boardwalk Bowl in Orlando Florida, it has 80 lanes, and the pin carry is really good

You Opened with a 52 Lane Center yet in Western NY We have AIRPORT LANES in Cheektowaga with 64 Lanes. Thanks For a Neat Video. Those Bowling Houses are Truly Impressive!!

The biggest center I have seen is also in Japan, Nagoya Grand Bowl. 156 lanes, three floors of 52 lanes each!

To complement this video you should do another about the largest centers in history that are now closed. I want to say there was one in Japan that had like 500 lanes. Even here in my hometown we had an 80 lane center (Marcel's Olympic Bowl, later AMF Olympic Lanes) along with a 64-lane center and at least two 56-lane centers

I've bowled at South Point and the National Bowling Stadium. Other than those two the largest Bowling Alley I've been in is the 68 lane Western Bowl Strike and Spare in Cincinnati

Bowled at showboat before they close back 2000., my son bowled SYC at the Reno national stadium and I also bowled at the stadium the same month in September for NorCal Jubilee.

There once was a large bowling center in Westchester County, NY. It was Elmsford Lanes. It had 62 lanes. It operated from perhaps the late 1950s until 1988. Until 1978, it had orange Gold Crown double masks. There were 48 lanes with Brunswick "A" pinsetters (Lanes 1-48). There were 14 lanes with Brunswick "A-2" pinsetters (Lanes 49-62). The building was converted into a recreation center. There may be some people who might remember this bowling center. Please comment if anyone remembers Elmsford Lanes.

It was perhaps one of the great bowling centers in its day. Long since gone, but not forgotten by many in the area. The largest bowling center in Westchester County now is Bowlero (formerly called White Plains Bowl). They have 56 lanes. 28 of them now have string pinsetters (UGH!) @@bryantalvarado3115

My dad used to work for an old place in Rochester NY called Olympic Bowl, that place had 82 lanes, it was absolutely massive! Its unfortunately been closed down for quite a few years now.

Forum Bowl in Grand Prairie, Texas (suburban Dallas). Longtime host of PBA's Quaker State Open in the '70s and '80s. Also hosted the 1976 BPAA US Open. Still going strong today. 60 lanes.

And here I thought my local center was a pretty large venue, coming in at 50 lanes. I don't bowl outside of my area very often, so it looks like I have some places to explore!

Interesting fact about my home house, Thunderbowl Lanes. The arena originally had just 4 lanes and was truly an "arena". It hosted the Detroit Thunderbirds of the old National Bowling League. The original 4 lanes are still under the the current 20 although pretty much inaccessible.

Thruway Lanes in Buffalo hosted many Pro Tournaments. I bowled there in the 60's. Nin Angelo's 19 week winning streak on Beat the Champ was there. Many great bowlers bowled there. When I returned there after being away for many years, I enjoyed the 'Flashback' to my youth. I think it's gone and replaced with a showroom for an auto dealer.

My hometown (Muskegon) has 4 bowling centers, but the highest is 50 lanes at 2 separate bowling centers (Northway Lanes and Sherman Bowling Center)

I bowl at Thunderbowl once and while, nice place to bowl.

I bowl at Akron Spins Bowl and it contains 64 lanes. I would be in awe to bowl at these places nearing, and over 100 lanes.

My local bowling center isn't so large. It is called the Palace located in Downingtown, PA with a totall of 40 lanes.

Can u imagine doing a league on 72 lanes an ALL 72 lanes were taken by us league players 😮. I mean I work in a bowlin alley. An my house has 32 lanes. I can just imagine workin in the back of a 72 lane house. CRAZY!

I started bowling in a 64 lane house. They had about 10 pool tabs a pretty good size bar and arcade

Red Rock casino and Resort in Las Vegas should also make the list. 72 lane center and very nice. Stations love their bowling. Another 60 lanes over at Santa Fe Station in LV. I used to bowl before moving to Vegas, but had stopped for physical reasons and missed out on getting to bowl all of the centers, but from out-of-state bowled in a few of them, including the mighty Showboat. I still cant believe that the whole casino is gone.

Showboat Western Regional moving 5 pairs after each game. to get from Lane 70 to Lanes 79 & 80 you had to walk thru the Lounge, then it was converted to a Sports Book but the worst was going from Lanes 105 & 106 all the way back to the low end. Was more tiring changing lanes than bowling the 8 game block.

Royal Pin's Woodland Bowl, Expo Bowl, and Western Bowl in Indianapolis all boast 80 lanes. EDIT: I think Woodland may have been downsized to 70 lanes.

Woodland went from 80 to 70 to make room for laser tag. They also had an 80 lane center called Southern Bowl that closed in 2018

There's another GrandBowl center in Japan called "Nagoya GrandBowl", that place has 156 Lanes making it the only Bowling Center in the world to have the most number of lanes under one building. However unlike Inazawa GrandBowl, all their Lanes are on seperate floors but that place is still huge.

I live in South Florida. Until the turn of the century Miami Dade County was the home to what was the largest bowling center that I have played in. It was Don Carter’s Kendal Lanes. That house had 72 lanes, 36 lanes on the east and west sides of the house. Unfortunately, Don Carter’s Kendal Lanes was knocked over in the name of ‘progress’ to make way for a shopping center. Had Don Carter’s Kendal Lanes still been in business it would most likely operate as Bowlero Kendal, just like its former sibling, Bowlero Tamarac, formerly Don Carter’s Tamarac Lanes. Bowlero Tamarac has 56 lanes, 28 lanes each on the north and south sides

Celebrity Sports Center in Denver demolished in 1994 had 80 AMF lanes and opened in 1959.

McHenry bowl in Modesto, California also has 52 lanes.

Bird Bowl in Miami has 60 lanes, been continuously operating since 1958.

We use to have an alley here in the cleveland ohio area that was 100 lanes. But it closed a couple years ago

Fountain Bowl in Fountain Valley California has 60 lanes it's up there for the biggest lanes

I've bowled at Thunderbowl. Fun fact, it use to have 94 lanes, but they ripped out four lanes on their cosmic bowling side to put in an arcade.

Might as well add Smyrna Bowling Center in Smyrna, TN which has 52 lanes which was tied to Germany's bowling alley.

I recall once going to a bowling center at some crazy hour in the morning somewhere in Los Angeles. This center had a divide with lanes on either side. I dont recall how big it was (# of lanes), but I really like that concept and thus moving from one side of the house to the other is very convenient then. If anyone can name the center and tell kme if it still in operation, maybe ill visit it again now that I live closer to LA.

The center I bowl at most has 52 lanes, they need to add about another 52 .. it gets packed a lot!

Carolier Lanes In North Brunswick, NJ has 82 Lanes and has hosted many major championships over the years. It is now a Bowlero and hosted the Player’s Championship this year.

Thunder Bowl use to have 96 lanes but removed 6 lanes.

In a part two you should look up boardwalk bowl in Florida. It was built out of an old Walmart Supercenter and has over 100 lanes

Sadly it is long gone, but Edison Lanes in Edison, NJ had 112 Lanes - all in a row on one side. There are a few You Tube videos of the 1974 NJ Open (featuring Don McCune - Mr. Soaker himself - and Marshall Holman as a rookie bowler). It's been a while since I watched the videos, but I believe in one of the they show a panoramic view of the entire center.

Used to bowl there back in the 1970s. The haze in there from the cigarette smoke on league nights rivaled any city air pollution.

I work in a 66lanes center in Montreal Canada and there is a 72lanes also in the city.

I know that Munich is renowned for its historic beer halls, but never knew there was a major bowling alley there.

No mention of the 82 lane Bowlero North Brunswick in New Jersey. Formerly known as Carolier Lanes.

South China Athletic Association bowling centre has 60 lanes, located in Asia, Hong Kong.

Brunswick zone Carolier North Brunswick NJ had 82 lanes and hosted the US OPEN for years before bowlero bought it and took lanes out to make it it a fun center as well as bowling alley. I haven’t been there since I moved from NJ to KY 11 years ago. I don’t know how many lanes it currently has

It still has 82. I am from Jersey also, moved out a few years ago. There is also Strathmore Lanes in Matawan, 54 Lanes

Grand Blanc lanes in flint Michigan has 72 lanes

I actually bowl at Stardust on Fridays! The Friday league, called Bowlers & Baggers😂, has 56 teams. Super competitive league with lots of chances to win big money! They have a headless strikepot which currently is around $4,000 and someone just hit our regular strikepot for almost $8,000! Highest it ever got was almost $20,000.

Yes I used to bowl there. I also used to be the lane man. I remember having 3 lane machines oiling between squads for the post standard masters. The look on the bowlers faces when they saw 3 machines oiling was priceless.

It's former sister center, Olympic Bowl in Rochester NY. It had 80 lanes before it closed up. PBA held tournaments when Marcel owned it.

Sunset station in Las Vegas has 72 lanes

Sunset Station Las Vegas 72 lanes, Red Rock Bowling Center Las Vegas 72 lanes and Gold Coast bowling Center Las Vegas 70 lanes. I swear The Orleans bowling Center Las Vegas had 70 lanes when I bowled there in 2012 but their website only shows 52 so they must have removed 18 lanes maybe.

I bowl league at The Orleans, and there are now 52 lanes. They removed the first 18 to build/expand some conference rooms. For multi-day tournaments like the Summer TAT, they'll use the rooms as a ball paddock.

Mine only has 32 but it feels like it’s a lot more

The former Red Carpet Bowlero, now known as just Bowlero has 72 alleys and has been around since 1959 hosting numerous PBA events.

How could you not future imperial lanes in Clinton township Michigan it has 80 lanes.
