1973 : The Best Year !
Avevo quattordici anni e papà, dopo le mie insitenze mi portò a Vallelunga a vedere quella 6 ore di motori, rumori che ti facevano vibrare anche lo stomaco oltre ai timpani, odore di benzina e olio e potevi vedere gente come Ickx, Cevert, Merzario e altri grandi, come guidavano, giravano il volante, cambiavono le marce, piegavano il casco in curva...che spettacolo indimenticabile!

Francois Cevert with the mystical Matra with thr v12 engine, the best sound in the business...even now. He was killed the same year at Watkins Glenn on the last season GP...

Seeing Cevert again made me cry. He was my boyhood idol. He would have been 78.
