    Hi Cassiy, I just wanted you to know that among a few other you tubers, you are my 'go-to' to use as I study the whole process of POD. I just started posting listings and use your videos as a reference when I need the details for specific steps. I have signed up for your POD Launch Guide using that yesterday to nail down how to actually create mockups for my listings. I have a notebook and I put the video title at the top of the page and take notes through the whole video. It actually looks like I'm taking classes! LOL I know these items are a year old but I thought I'd let you know that they are still being used by people trying to start their business. Thank you for the great detailed processes!

Butttt I would recommend applying to Merch By Amazon since sometimes you have to apply a few times to get accepted and can only post 10 things to start. So it could pay off to give it a tiny bit of effort now so its all set up when you are ready later! Check out Ryan Houge's KZread channel in the meantime if you want to check it out!

    Hi Cassiy, I have watched so many of your videos about Etsy and Printify, they are so great and informational! I am wondering however, I had opened an Etsy shop probably over 6 years ago, and decided at the time it was not for me so I did not sell anything. Will that effect me today if I want to start listing new items, as obviously my sales history will almost slim to none. Do you recommend starting an entirely new name Etsy shop? Does Etsy put shops who have more sales and more reviews to the front of the list as far as new listings go? Thanks

  • @CassiyJohnson

    @CassiyJohnson

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hello Kay! I choose to have what a lot of people call a "General Store", So I put all of my niches in one storefront. Etsy is a search engine based website, so most people come to Etsy and search the exact product or category they want an then buy one from the search results. Its not as common for someone to click your shop and be searching just through your items. In my opinion, its better to have a general store, then you can figure out what niches sell the best for you and your style. You can then open up a 1 niche website for yourself in the future but already have all the designs proven to sell from Etsy. I think when you have a website, its most important to have a more specific niche.

    I don't really have a great resource for you just yet but am going to work on one very soon! Essentially you just want to be working on what will be selling 8-12 weeks from now. So right now you should be working on Halloween, Fall and Thanksgiving. Then I would start working on Christmas a little earlier. Then in October work on 100th day of school, Valentines Day and St. Patricks day to be ready for the beginning of the year. That should give you a pretty good jump start and congrats on getting started!

    So right now if you click on the number of sales you have in your store, it will show every item you have ever sold. This thing that Etsy geographically track you, does that also mean that they limit your sales abilities to people around the world? I am in Sweden, so am I limited by Etsy to only reach customers on Etsy that are here in Scandinavia and will miss out on other markets, like the USA, where people in the US are much more familiar with shopping on Etsy for example? Or how does this control of them needing to know where I am located work?

    Hi Cassiy, Amazing content and very inspiring story. I am a 7 figure Amazon seller myself and am looking to create multiple streams of income as any platform can suspend you for no reason and that's a risky business model if you do not have other streams. I would love it if you could share some numbers though... For example if someone wants to get to that $5000 to $10,000 profit margin, how many designs for you did it take before you were at that point?

    Hello friend! I am sorry to hear that. I have never sold on Redbubble but I hear its the hardest one to make sales on. It's got to either be your SEO is not quite right or your designs. I think you should take a hard look at some successful listings on Redbubble and see where maybe yours are lacking to figure out which one of them is the problem. Also have you ever considered trying to sell on Etsy? I think its the best platform to get started with Print On Demand!

    I was looking into teacher and vacation niche, and it looks like the price point for shirts are 7.99 to 14.99. Would you still price yours at 24.99? What price would u recommend for group shirts also. Thanks for your help.

  • @CassiyJohnson

    @CassiyJohnson

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi Eric! Most of these shirts when you actually click the listing are for sale for anywhere between 22.99/shirt and 24.99/shirt once you see that only one color in one size is the lower price and add in the shipping cost they charge extra for. A lot of shops just use these tactics to look cheaper. Also Etsy is a place where people got o find the perfect present for a loved one or a really cool unique item for themselves, its not where people go to find the cheapest shirt out there. They would go to Walmart or Amazon for that. I I sell ALL of my shirts for $24.99, even group shirts. If people aren't getting sales, trust me its NOT the price. It's their mock-ups, design for SEO. People are more than willing to spend money on what they want to buy and personally, I would never buy an $8 shirt even if it actually was that price, I would think it was poor quality! Feel free to try the same pricing tactics as those people or even just start at a lower price just to try it but I've sold over 20,000 shirts at $24.99.

    Cassiy, is it possible to earn money with simple text designs or do the designs have to be rather elaborate?

  • @CassiyJohnson

    @CassiyJohnson

    2 жыл бұрын

    Thats a great question! My video coming out on Friday is going to go over how to make designs that sell and the first few templates are all simple text designs! Simple really does sell. For every niche, I recommend having some simple text designs, some colorful text designs and some with graphics to really appeal to all of the markets! There are tons of best sellers out there that are just text based for sure!

    @@CassiyJohnson Thank you :-) One more question: In the video you presented niches that have a lot of competition. It's hard for beginners to get a foothold there. How can you break down highly competitive niches, like Mother's Day, to smaller, more rewarding niches? Are you making a video about that as well?

  • @CassiyJohnson

    @CassiyJohnson

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@oooBoEoNooo I tried to go over that in this video, sorry if it didn't come across just right. Try to find small sub niches within mothers day, like mothers of 2 kids, mothers of 6 kids, mothers who like coffee etc. So look through mom shirts until you see one of those sub niches. Then search for just that sub niche to get inspiration and SEO. There are 100's of ways you can niche down Mother's Day shirts or any holiday for that matter! But there is still huge money in the generic stuff and don't discount that you can make sales with those as well! New shops get best sellers all the time on shirts that just say "Mama". You just can't expect to make the perfect design on the perfect mockup with the perfect SEO every time. You have to make lots of different versions until you find which combination works.

    @@CassiyJohnson Ah, thank you, that makes it a little clearer :-) I always thought that if you want to sell organically, you can only do so with low-compete keywords. That has always kept me from even trying, because everything looks kind of saturated to me. I'll test it with your tip.

  • @CassiyJohnson

    @CassiyJohnson

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@oooBoEoNooo I know some people tell you only to do low competition words but it's really worth it to do both in my opinion! I ranked for "Teacher Sweatshirt" my first fall and sold like 75 sweaters that just said teacher on them! You might eventually get bumped down in the search results and that sweater never really sold again but if you just keep doing that, then you can make a lot of money if that makes sense!
