Great book for a beginner . kzread.infoUgkxD-QRFQz730FJEh4f9BYSf-nkIMIC9hL_ this book really starts from the beginning, as in it explains what basic tools are and how to use them. But when it gets to the art of creating joints and how and when to use them this book really starts to teach you something. At least that was my experience.
It’s great! My shed has been completed and it turned out nice looking and sturdy and it is way better than the sheds that many of my neighbors had put up. Of course, I'm pleased with the outcome and this Ryan’s kzread.infoUgkxGZedDTcDfgD7fG_uU4esfx_EgxzlY2_1 Plans was extremely useful to me as a guide.
I have been a master carpenter all of my life and worked with the finest and expensive woods there is. If I can say one thing, it will be that you have made me a happy man. Your woodwork is absolutely perfect and done with a great deal of love. Thank you for making me revive my memories.

How can one be a master carpenter "All their life"? I've been at it for 40 yrs, and there's still a world of knowledge out there to learn from and continue to grow. Unless you were born a "master carpenter", that's quite a statement. You have to tell me your secret! Lol! 66carpenter

It’s an absolute joy to see such craftsmanship. All of the carpentry that you and your Dad do is to an incredibly high standard. Thank you for sharing this with us.

I actually think that there is not a lot of craftsmanship involved - Carl and his family "simply do it", and learn in the process. Their sheer sticktoitiveness demonstrates that anyone with enough time and (reasonable) means can actually make a serious dent in a project like this is much more encouraging than some of the artisan channels out there I think. I am mesmerized by the progress and seeing the simple solutions being applied with brute perseverance. The magnitude of the roof would scare off 9 out of 10 hobbyists, but they pulled it off, stuck to local building codes as well, and it actually looks amazing. #joy

I wanna tell you you helped make a special moment with my grandfather who passed about a month ago. He was a master craftsman and carpenter and he affected all of his kids and grandkids like me as we always used to talk about tools and projects and sometimes advice. I remember once soon after it came out I showed him the video of you making that cross and he was amazed at the tools you were using and was very impressed and entertained. It was a special moment we had together thanks to you and I wanna say thank you. Not long before he passed we went to go see him and I made a sign out of an old piece of ash I found I believe from my neighbor and made a sign saying #1 Pops. I brought the blank to my dad's and rounded the corners and added bevels. That night I stayed up until 3:00 in the morning routing out the letters and keeping in mind we had to leave by 5:00 in the morning. It was worth it though and I carried that sign with me on 2 flights to give it to him and he told me I did an amazing job and my uncle told me how much he loved it and hung it in his room where he always sees it whenever he wakes up. My grandma gave it back to keep as a keepsake but thanks for being a partial inspiration for me and making a special moment with my grandfather. He died at age 89.
This staircase is a work of art. The craftsmanship that you and your dad share with us is an absolute delight to watch. Thank you so much for sharing this journey with us.
1975 I built a two stage staircase for my bride in an A frame I had built with help from dear friends. The staircase was after our first baby came and I had to floor the upper of the A frame. Never built a staircase before. Used Cypress pine as the whole house was that as it resists termites regrettable that I didn’t have the aid of my original helpers because although it was true, plumb and tight.....the Cypress was still a little green and it shrank minimally. Almost broke my heart....but had a gorgeous bride and went on to have four babies filling the house with joy. Never lost a baby down those stairs!!
As much as a treasure that staircase is, the real treasure is being able to work alongside your Dad. At sometimes he might have been a pain in the butt while working. But this memory that will never leave you . At 70+ and my Dad gone 40+ years, I'd give anything to work alongside him for another 5 minutes.
I couldn't ask for a better new years gift than a new Carl Rodgers upload. Great work man 🥳🎉

It is so pleasant to watch a young master craftsman at work. Just one idea how about attaching a solar panel to roof so you can charge when stopped.
The attention to detail is absolutely beyond compare.
That's one hell of a set of stairs brother! Great series!
As a custom finish carpenter for nearly 30 years, I know the satisfaction of putting those spacers into the final spot while installing your spindles. Your attention to detail and craftsmanship has evolved so much since the beginning when you tore off the original roof. I greatly appreciate you sharing this journey with us and wish I could be there to help. Simply stellar work.

I agree. It's been a pleasure to watch this staircase and roof replacement come together. I also wish I could be part of this project. I guess I'll have to live vicariously through your videos. I can't wait to see what else you have planned.
Beautiful work. Beautiful wood. The way those final spacers pop in with just a little help is perfection. *chefs kiss* Well done doesn't quite cut it.
Years ago my sister bought a cabin in the mountains, after the work done by the masons I started with the wood finishes, and that's where I discovered my passion for wood. I always follow your work and I envy you because I would like to be there with you, you are really very good and you do wonderful work, bravo
Absolute stunner of a staircase. Exquisite in every detail. You should be very proud of this.
A real masterpiece Carl. You and dad should be extremely proud of yourselves!

Beautiful job! And the thimble is the crowning jewel! Thanks for sharing.
That is a gorgeous staircase. You are a superb craftsman, that's plain to see, but I love how you include the little stumbles along the way.
Emphasized: "The Everest of carpentry." Beautiful work and it's a pleasure to see the craft alive and its beauty exposed. Both you and your father did a very fine job!
Surely at this point, with the years of work you put into restoring this house, you can call yourself a Master Carpenter. Such impressive work
I’ve enjoyed every episode, hope to see more soon . I bought one of your belts for my son , he wears it every day .
Wildly beautiful staircase. Supercalifragilistic expealidocious craftsmanship.
The joinery on the stairs and railings is a testament to your dedication to perfection on this project. I am impressed with the skills of you and your father. Job well done!
Incredible! Just a complete work of art, and so wonderfully satisfying to watch such precision! Well done
You and your dad have build a staircase "par excellance" - Hats off 👌
That's a purely 'show off' projekt..! Very well done work of wood art..! Beautiful..!! 👍
The end result is absolutely stunning but man...Being french and knowing the price of wood these times, you did put a huge, HUGE amount of money on this project !
It's crazy that most people wouldn't even know where to begin, and if they did, they'd make a mess of it. This was one complex task! Thanks for taking the time to film the process... so much work all around, but worth it.
Blown away by the quality of craftsmanship by yourself and your dad.. An absolute joy to watch these videos and something i definitely look forward to 👏🏻👏🏻
What a beautiful staircase . You should be so proud of yourself . Great work .
I agree the Everest of carpentry. It's structural, It's Beautiful and there is no place to hide your mistakes. Well done
It has been a joy, watching you and your father working together on this project and the others as well. Both showing the true craftsmanship of the builds you both have undertaken. It has been a joy watching true craftsman at work, as well taken pride in one's work and wanting to get it right as well in doing it right. Well done to you both.
You must feel immense satisfaction every time you climb those stairs. It's been an absolute joy to watch this series, and I'm kind of sad it's come to an end. Many thanks to you and your Pa.
Perfect combination of old and modern woodwork, problems solving from start to finish. My 🎩 is of.
Stunning finish work! It'll easily last 300 more years!
This is so beautiful, and hopefully it will take at least another 300 years to read the message. That you got to work with your dad on this is awesome too, I really miss working with my dad. Moments and an accomplishment to cherish for a lifetime.
What a great piece of engineering & woodwork! Bravo! You have made something that will last for centuries and both of you should feel very proud. Have a great year! I look forward to more!
The only problem I have with your Chanel is that l want more. You and your dad are excellent craftsmans. Keep up the great work and happy new year to you and your family.

Awesome. Carl you and your father have made a beautiful staircase. thank you for sharing I have truly enjoyed the journey. Xx
My father always said measure twice cut once, and a job worth doing is worth doing well. He also burned it into my head to do it right the first time or don't do it at all. I wish I was half the woodworker my father is. Beautiful work guys, well worth the wait to see it done right.
I am ... almost sad it's done? It is absolutely beautiful. Really love the way you make videos, looking forward to the next one !
This has been a great series. Looking forward to what is next. Appreciate all that you have to do to get the work done and then edit down a video for all of us to watch. Happy New Year.
Made me smile seeing you do the offcuts tip from the comments in the last video. THIS IS A TEAM EFFORT CARL! lol
Now that’s a hell of a stair case brother. Well thought out and very well built. Amazing work….
Maybe you can fill the cracks on the post tops with glue a saw dust mixture?
I'm in awe, stunned and flabbergasted by the amount of such precise and accurate work you put in this endeavor. It is indeed a masterpiece of carpentry and you have every reason (and your father too) to be proud of the result. Thank you for your videos. Et encore bravo !
My detraction from the business day…watching this and all previous uploads, each providing amazing educational value. Merci. Greetings from the neighbouring dept of the Lot.
These are really nice and sturdy looking stairs. Sophisticated and diligent work is beautiful.
I think working with all that beautiful oak must be exciting.
I really enjoyed your journey in building the staircase. It has inspired me to finish off the work my dad started 25 years ago. Fortunately I only need to put in the posts handrails and spindles.
Absolutely piece of art! You have golden hands. Beautiful job, thanks for video.
Been following this start to finish. A masterclass in carpentry. Well done pal

I put a sacrificial scrap behind and under my piece when I want zero tear out. Those railing spacers are called "fillets". Nice work!
Great job. Well worth waiting for. The house now has a grand staircase, one that will last.🥰
Absolutely stunning work. Great craftsmanship and beautiful result.
I've loved watching your attention to detail, and enjoy seeing all your fabulous tools. Thanks so much and very best wishes to you all.
Beautifully done, keep sharpening those skills & tools look forward to the next 1
The old one had an honest charm . Your new one should be good for another 300 years too!
Absolutely beautiful job,I'm diy Woodworker and can only hope one day my skill would be at least half as good as this,I Thoroughly enjoyed the videos have a blessed day!
Another great little series of videos! Thoroughly enjoying this barn restoration. A tip for cleaning glue for hard to reach corners, get a plastic drinking straw and snip the end at 45⁰ and use as a littler scraper.
absolutely beautiful work and what a stunning result, you must be so pleased with it!
