The more slow cooker recipes the better. Love not having to turn on the oven in summer. Hitting 90's already so summer temps, crockpot cooking is perfect.

Julia thank you so much for sharing these dump and go dinner recipes! We moved to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan about 7 months ago and before we moved we made some choices. My husband had worked Monday through Saturday every week with only Sundays off 56 hours a week for years and he really didn't want to work anymore lol aside from our house and property if he didn't have to. We were debt free and mortgage free because we bought a livable fixer upper 4 bedroom 1 bath house on some property for $23,000 cash. Our monthly expenses are under $500 a month So I work part-time as a substitute teacher! On the days I work I can get the ingredients ready the night before and leave the recipe for hubby! They are so easy for him to throw together! And I can honestly say that after years of taking care of other people and children it is nice to have someone take care of me lol. So I thank you for helping my husband achieve this 🥰❤

Your story is inspirational as I am starting to get sick of all of the greed going on which has caused the price of EVERYTHING to no longer be affordable. I am wanting to live a more natural life farther away from the city where I don't have to be so dependent on the systems owned by the ones that are setting the prices. The U.P. is beautiful & is a great place to achieve just that. I'm glad to hear that you & your husband are now less stressed & enjoying life again!

@@tigerpunk7777 We are loving it. We just got our chicks so we will have our fresh eggs. And today we worked outside getting ready to plant. We are establishing fruits like blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and grapes so we will have them every year. We want to be self sufficient and try and lower our footprint. Today when I was raking up some leaves I notice all the worms. The property has not been maintained and all the leaves have caused the soil to be fantastic looking! I am really excited about growing and raising our own food!

When we take family vacations (with my siblings) there’s now 15 of us and we prefer to fix our own meals. You can relax at table longer and it’s not so loud like restaurants so the whole table can join in same conversation

Crockpot meals come in handy especially with summertime coming, these look delicious Julia. We have been enjoying your cookbook recipe's as well. I am happy you were able to get away to a warmer place, Utah is so beautiful 😍

Those Bob Evans microwave mashed potatoes are SO good! I discovered them about 10 years ago, & haven't made "homemade" mashed potatoes since. It was always just me & my husband, so the package was the perfect size. Now that I've become a widow, I just save what I don't eat for another time or two. The traditional homestyle flavor is great, plus they also make a garlic version if you like that. Plus they have a cheesy mashed, & a "loaded" version that's amazing- it's got bacon, chives, sour cream, & cheddar in them. Highly recommend for singles, couples, or small families with little ones who don't eat alot. Some stores sell 2 sizes- one is around 20oz. & there's a larger "family" size. The smaller one runs about $4 where I live in the NE part of the USA. If you aren't crazy about peeling potatoes, Bob Evans is the answer!

You are definitely smart for renting a vrbo or airbnb so you can cook while on vacation. I can't imagine what it would cost to eat out 3x daily with a family! Even taking advantage of some convenience items still keeps your food cost much lower than eating out. It is vacation for you as well, so doing slow cooker meals simplifies meal prep so you get in some relaxation and don't feel chained to the kitchen! If there is a grill available, then that can be a simple meal too! Add simple cereal or muffins for breakfast, fix a sandwich, chips and fruit for take along lunches or have leftovers and then your crockpot dinner with a frozen microwave veggie or salad kit along with your yummy dessert cobbler and you are all set. No problem pressing the easy button with crockpot liners as mom is on vacation too!

so true, i remember as a kid we'd rent cabins in lake george (im from montreal). we made the road trip fun, my dad would put the ps2 in the car so me and my bro could play, and it was much cheaper than flying ofc. and the cabins meant we got to save money on food, and coming from montreal, the food in the US is already so much cheaper anyway! now as an adult, i think my "vacation" food would be me cooking but not having to do dishes or clean up... i love cooking, but i hate cleaning up afterwards!

And, if I remember, Julia has some make ahead breakfast sandwiches, egg bites, etc. that I could freeze and bring along on our next vacation! Eating out is expensive and over-rated. These meals are perfect!

As always as I told you, you have my own playlist saved. Now too bad I didn't notice this during the winter & when we were away across the border the other week for the Crockpot liner I don't think I saw it here I will keep an eye then Amazon for sure. Will be doing all the recipes but not a fan of queso chicken. And omg that desert is a different one. Honestly, you are the best. That vote thing they had and you were overlooked. What a way to bring extra income to the family to.

Another easy recipe if you have kids using the orange chicken recipe is to buy frozen chicken nuggets, cook them. In a saucepan while the nuggets are cooking combine the BBQ sauce and orange marmalade in a pan, heat and stir. When the nuggets are done toss them in the sauce (or put to the side for dipping.) That's how I've made this recipe fory kids for years. BBQ sauce and orange marmalade don't sound like they would go good together but they actually do❤

I watch your videos every week & you never disappoint! Crockpot and sheet pan dinners are my favorite bc they are so easy. I love seeing your little ones help out their mama 😄I loved seeing your vacation clips too. Wherever you went looked so beautiful! I never thought to bring along a crockpot on vacation but that is a great idea bc it is so expensive to eat out for an entire vacation! Thank you for your videos & much love to you & your family 🥰

The crock pot liners are a game changer! Have you ever tried the silicone liners? They’re reusable and wash easily. I love those as well. It actually seems like the heat wouldn’t be able to penetrate the material, but they work just as well

Love the pictures of your familys vacation

I've been saying to my husband I really wanted to make some more crockpot dinners, it's been so hot out for heating up the kitchen with the stove! Your videos always come at the perfect time ❤️ Also we've been using your meal plan and adored all the April meals! The May ones have been great so far as well. Everything is so organized and I appreciate the shopping lists! It's all perfect for my ADHD brain lol. Thank you for everything you do!! Sorry for the long comment but I really am grateful ❤️

Me and my son recently moved in together for financial reasons 😢and he absolutely can’t stand meat cooked in the crockpot and I adore it!! The one main thing both of us don’t eat is any kind of pasta. I think it’s a texture thing for me. I love these recipes though and he just might get that first chicken dish anyway!! I’ll tell him what I told him when he was a kid… shit up and eat it😂😂😂. PS… your little ones are just precious!! Seems like yesterday that kids and grandkids were that size! My kids are now 40 & 42 and my grands are 17 & 18. My 18 yr old precious grandson recently left for the US Army and my granny heart had gone through it!!! ❤❤
