What about increased cost for extra framing and time?
very informative. Thank you!
This was extremely helpful and aided in the framing of our deck - We did 3 different patterns and this helped with the logic for our frame!! thanks
Very helpful! Many thanks!
Great tips and ideas
I thought - interesting... every time it saves you 23% - six for six... strange... well I need to replace a fairly-standard, rectangular deck... I wonder if I really COULD save money doing this... Jumped onto the Lowe's site... looking at standard, pressure-treated 5/4 deck boards... $6.38 for 8' = $0.7975 / ft $12.58 for 16' = $0.7863 / ft. $7.88 for 10' = $0.7880 /ft $9.48 for 12' = $0.7900 Not sure what school you went to for math, but the price per linear foot is actually cheapest (by a fraction of a penny) buying a 16' deck board. Plain and simple... Looks like nonsense to me... especially when you'd need to add more framing.
Cool, but does your “savings” include the additional framing you need to add?
Great video
Good video to show customers
Pricing at Lowes, all the composite board is the same price per linear foot..
Cool
That's the first time I ever heard anyone suggest herringbone as a way to save money!

Save $1000 on materials and spend an extra $5000 on labor. 😒 🤔

slight issue for herringbone, @ 3' linear between each ending "center line of where the board merge" every board would need to be 4'3" in length that means you would waste 3'9" of every board 8' you cut, maybe those are the sizes you need for the end pieces for this dimension, but something to consider if your building outside of his dimensions. I love your video btw i couldn't do what im doing with out it.
Install cost would vary to the higher end with each of those patterns including the subfloor framing. Just saying 🎉
Im going to go with the harringbone pattern as my Dad dont think im handy at anything i would really like to shock him .
How bout find a custom 1/2” mold Pour concrete in !! Put on top existing frame !!!
Haters- it saves on decking. Most composite is the same per Lin Ft, however, when using treated lumber or cedar the price per ft goes up the longer the deck board
So done with staining replacing boards Gotta be alternative solution!! Just saying 😅😅
Bologna on pricing. You check it out.
you spend a lot more on labor and joists
