Being of Ukranian descent, I am pleased the proceeds of this video will help Ukranians in their hour of need. My father, a chef, although French-trained, made all of the dishes in this video, because no one else was making them in the Northeast USA where I grew up, and he missed home cooking as much as the next guy. Prayers for Ukraine!

Your father is a hero, especially for making dishes because no one else is making them. I hope to see Ukrainian food become more prevalent in the United States. I also would love to see Balkan food become more popular in the future.
You crack me up with your pronunciation of ukrainian dishes 😂. In a good way, though. Thank you for supporting Ukraine, trying our dishes and respecting our culture! 🇺🇦❤️
I'm filipino and love Ukranian dishes. My best friend had a Ukranian wife that he met on the internet and brought her America. Ive had all most of these dishes.
I always watch your videos, but this one really touched my heart as a Ukrainian 🇺🇦. Thank you for making this video and doing your research! You even got Chicken Kyiv correct! I'm glad you guys enjoyed the food. Thank you! :)

Are you a native or a decendent? We don't have chicken Kyiv usually. We have kotlet

@@ifyousayso1466 kotlet always. I just mean they didn't say Chicken kiev but instead said Chicken Kyiv
Love Ukrainian food. Prayers to UKRAINE 🙏
Great job, guys! It's really interesting to hear your perspective.. I enjoyed your observations about the similarities and differences between dumpling--kinda dishes, or noodles from China to Europe, and then from there to US and midwest. The whole video illustrated that sharing our cultures makes everyone better off and why we have to defend that. So, thx!
The version of Chicken Kyiv I had when I visited Ukraina years ago was served with fries/shoestring potatoes. The Stroganov was also served the same way, not on top of the wide & curly egg noodles, as, it's served in the U.S.
If you eat more slavic food, ull find out that we all eat almost the same thing. Sometimes it's just different name or few different ingredients. But it's very similar to each other

I’m Hungarian so I’m a bit biased but I think we use more spice Ukrainian food is good but it’s kinda lacking in spice
I dig yall comparing to Asian foods! Getting into connections! Also talking about the connection between Eastern European (& Germanic) and things people consider middle American. Good stuff.
Prayers to Ukraine 🇺🇦
I have a few friends from Ukraine and Serbia and Romania....Loved trying new foods...:) Love the cabbage rolls and potato salad...!
Dudes, you are the best! Thanks for sharing Ukrainian culture
Hi! Jane here. Bless your hearts, guys! I pray the precious Ukrainians will be truly blessed by your gift to them. I make bohemian style cabbage rolls. I think they are a near perfect food. I cannot have grains, so I switch out the rice for chopped spaghetti squash. It is still a winner. The Ukrainians really pack their rolls tight though!
Stuffed cabbage and chicken Kyiv have been favorites of mine since I was a child.
I am from Odesa and it's so cool to see my country and city be represented!
Thanks for showing Ukraine and our food so much love!
PEOPLE, share the video. More people watch and learn and more $$$ they raise for Ukraine. Thank y'all!
Great video! Prayers for Ukraine. God bless everyone struggling in this day and time❤
You guys are ace! Real street cred. and we can all see how much you're enjoying the food. On top of that you are doing this for a a really worthy cause. Keep up the excellent work.

Thank you for supporting Ukrain. Great video💛💙
Love marathoning your foodie videos while I'm working. Keep up the good work, and thanks for all you do !
Fun fact: OG Holubtsi are made with buckwheat, Ukraine isn't really known for it's rich rice fields. I haven't heard about mushroom topping, usually it's just sour scream or tomato sauce with some diced carrots. I would love try the ones in the video though.
grew up eating perogies and cabbage roles in western Canada.huge Ukrainian population here...lets not forget the deli's.. best delis here are ukranian and polish. Awesome job!

Me too, but because on the farm as a child, Baba ruled the kids and helping her cook was just something you had to do. From milking to harvesting chickens and eggs to making butter (in a hand churn)...it was an education that has served me very well for 50+ years!
I am Korean and have never tried the Ukrainian food but I am committed and I will often freqent the Ukraine restauants near me. I have friends in Ukraine both Kiev and Odessa, I can only pray they made it out alive as we lost touch. No natter, I will Vlog it every time I visit Ukrainian restaurants. America, support your local Ukrainian restaurants and get cultured!
Great job!
Glory to Ukraine...you guys did look more buff by the end.
Never had this food , but would love too ! 😋🤤👍👍❤️
Ukraine is not landlocked. They border the Black Sea.
Very nice to see all this delicious Ukrainian food! Goulash is not a Hungarian influence though, all Baltic states have their own take on dishes like goulash and dumplings.
I love that you guys always move with the times!
I’ve been lucky to have tried several of these dishes. My favorites are the potato pancakes and the beet salad. It’s actually a lot of work to make the salad but yum. Thank You for your effort and sharing with us.
Thank you! Stand with Ukraine.
Enjoyed your video very much. Thanks for sharing and letting me hang out with y’all. 👍😎👍❤️😋
Great idea to show support by trying their food. Hashtags and saying I support a certain side can only do so much. By eating their food, it's helping the owners financially and getting imersed into their culture. Even if you're not interested in the political aspect of it, 9 times out of 10, it's just good food.
What a great video! Really outside the box…love it!
kudos to your guys. Food is certainly more interesting and civilised than war!
All looks good
Thank you guys
your insights and respect for culture are incredible, thank you so much
This is a good video and also besides the food check out the music from that part of the world....you won't be disappointed And also check out shops that specialize in Ukrainian food and snacks
Ukranian food looks dope :)
Wish there was more Ukrainian restaurants in the U.K.
Ah yes. That wonderful country Hungaria. And did you say that Ukraine was landlocked?? 😆
I was at Streecha and really liked their home-style food.
Thank you for a great video.
Just a big old yes! Great video, new places to try in NYC. Thank you for donating to the Ukranian cause.
No matter how tempted, trying to prepare vereniki like one might do potstickers, you need to be much more highly skilled in the kitchen than I am… It may be possible (and I liove them pan-fried) but It’s beyond me. :)
Food looks amazing!! Great video as always guys especially for the cause. Stay safe you two. XOXO
You guys do great videos. This episode was a good one. Learned quite a bit. Keep up the great work.
Growing up when we had pierogies, we’d have apple sauce too. Never knew chicken Kiev was Ukrainian. No so hungry.
Great video. Very interesting and you did an excellent job re a lot of interesting details.
Nice
The fish like the pickled herring comes from Lithuania and across the Baltic sea its popular in Sweden too

The Germans also eat a lot of herring, especially people in northern Germany, since Germany borders the Baltic Sea.

Nice seeing you guys and your beautiful video. Just one correction: Ukraine is not a landlocked country, we have the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. ❤️ ☺️
Dope
Really cool video!
Ukrainian on my mom's side. I make Borscht and people who have never tried it have no idea how delicious it is.
Bro, i did not catch you guys eating the herring. I wonder why 🤔. Regardless ty for supporting the ukrains
This was video was AWESOME! Food History leads to greater understanding of various cultures. But we’re ALL CONNECTED through food and sustainace!👍🏽🥰
Loved this! Praying for Ukraine ❤️
You should also try Romanian food !
Thanks for tasty content!!!
THANK YOU BROS 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🙏🏼
My wife and I only been to one of them. Now we will try the rest.
Mainly in East Village and Greenwich Village/West Village, Manhattan.
So cool that you guys did this. Slava Ukraini!
You guys are killing me. I haven't had any of those dishes since my parents died. You pretty much covered all the popular foods
💙🇺🇦💛
Wow ✨✨✨✨👍👍
Yo Andrew, where'd you get that Queens hoodie? Great video guys
Can you try Pakistani food next

I mean different European cuisines influenced each other, many dishes reminded me of German comfort food.
They didn't like the herring. Cut out the reaction 😅
We were there and they made amazing foods!
Your making me hungry watching this.
👍
Strongly agree with u to eat their food and do donations 👊👍 to help them.
Im with the new thing! LOL
Had a gal who worked in work’s cafeteria that once a year would make her Mom’s recipe for cabbage rolls. I would always buy a second serving for later. She had to retire so haven’t had since.

Yummy.
Your videos seem very dark lately when you are filming inside a restaurant.
Great video! But I want to add that Ukraine isn’t landlocked so most of seafood in Ukraine comes directly from its own shores.
AMERICAN AND UKRAINE FOOD NEW YORK FOOD DELICIOUS YUMMY
It is pronounced Hungary.
🇺🇦💪🇺🇦💪🇺🇦 thank you guys!!!!
💙💛
Their comments about American Midwestern comfort foods originating from eastern Europe seem accurate in my experience and considering historical immigration patterns. Last fall I spent a week in Iowa and Minnesota. The National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library is in Cedar Rapids, IA. The economy and quality of life in some parts of the Midwest like Iowa may not be on the radar of younger Coastal folks. And Iowa is actually getting a bit more diverse. They welcomed thousands of Southeast Asian refugees into Iowa during the Vietnam war era. And Minneapolis, MN has a sizable Hmong population including Olympic champion gymnast Sunisa "Suni" Lee.
The only mistake I made was watching this video on an empty stomach 😫 otherwise great video the food looks very delicious I want to try some❤️
My heart broke when he spread that sour cream on a toast bread and put borshch on top. XD Awesome video, otherwise. Thanks guys:)
🇺🇦💪🏼
Thank you for your support and covering all these dishes that really represent the country. Could you please do a video on kazakh food? I think it would be very interesting too.
Ukraine is not landlocked guys. Perogies/Varenikis /pelmenis please.
💖
Dude, I really love your show, but you need to fix your sound and autofocus issues on your camera. Your sound on each episode is hit and miss and inconsistent. Just some constructive feedback. Keep on doing the content, love it, and love your support for local businesses, but if possible, please fix the sound and autofocus issues.
the pork jelly holodets u gotta eat it with vinegar mate trust
Borscht with a t on the end is the Yiddish spelling.
I appreciate facts you bring us, as we talk about Ukraine!
The potato pancake looks like it would be fire with an egg on top of it sunny side up, yolk all dripping down into the pancake.
Good video showcasing Ukrainian cuisine and it's great that proceeds from the video are being donated to help, but I really think you guys should not try so hard to "not be political" when talking about the war, and this applies to other topics as well. We all know you guys have the capacity to do so from the podcasts that touch on social justice issues. Also, Ukraine is not landlocked!
