Chiang Rai may be provincial and relaxed but it is not sleepy. Lanna means 1,000,000 rice fields.

@sue mason. We haven't gotten food poisoning as well and we've tried most of everything in Thailand, except for the insects, not too sure about that just yet...

I personally feel food poisoning in Cambodia is much more prevalent than in Thailand but I thought I'd die one time I had food poisoning in Thailand... I lived in Chiang Mai. Smecta is your friend with the runs good poisoning but if your gut gets that brick like feeling...prepare to lose weight in all forms of expulsion.

so, what would you do if it was a real possibility of getting food poison from a street vendor? have you ever seen someone or known someone who has had it?

I lived in CR for 18. months and hated it. I called it Gods waiting room where old go waiting to be called boring place. But on a positive note the people were nice and a great place to visit but to live NO.
