6,7,8 "Can’t Lose" Craps Strategy

Although any craps strategy can lose, this one relies of betting on the three numbers most likely to be rolled on the craps table. It can be a grind to make profit, but you will make money even on a PSO.

As with any DP and DC system getting your bets on a box number is where it can break down quickly. If you can get any don’t bet on a box number you are in a no lose situation. Getting past the come out roll is where things are tricky. I would suggest putting up a 60$ no 5 or no 9 on the come out roll and immediately take it down when a point is set. Still exposed but 6 losing numbers vs 8. A 4$ yo is optional taking the losers down to 4 but the yo can be a heavy tax over the session but it only takes a couple yos to overcome that and also you have snake eyes and the 2-3’s going in your favor to overcome the tax.

Great strategy and I can confirm it works IRL. one modification I do… on the come out roll, I place a $1 hop bet on the numbers I don’t want to see 1/6 3/4 2/5 5/6. This $4 hedge pays $15 in the event that a 7 or 11 is rolled. It lessens the loss of the $30 a bit just long enough to set a point. Also if the point is a 4 or a 10, I will add $24 to the DC as it’s much ore likely to roll a 7 than a 4 or 10. I’ve had great luck with this. I do take down bets after they’ve hit a couple times each.

7/11 on the CO is a killer. A $3 Yo on the CO could be a good DC hedge to take the 11 away. Also sucks when the point is a 6 or 8. In that case, I place the point 6/8 with enough to cover the DP, then make a new DC bet to get it on a better outside number. E.g., $40 DP, point is 6, so $36 Place 6 ($30 if you're OK risking only $5), then $40 DC, DC moves to, say, the 5, then $18 Place 8 and $20 Place 5. I like to collect the first hit (or two) so that I can make my DP/DC more valuable, then I half press. Good vid. Thanks!

The Dice Dominator said in one of his training sessions something very appropriate to the early parts of his video. "The key to winning more is to lose less." Sounds obvious but the first four rolls proved the simplicity of that statement. Many people (including me) will often put Place bets on all the numbers immediately after the Come Out roll which would have resulted in a $300 loss.

On Point , Thank you for this video and any craps player of beginning knowledge knows about the DP loss on the 7 or 11 6 ways of 36 (7) and 3 ways of 36 (11) so 9 ways of 36, however there is a win on the come out on the 2 or 3 so you have an edge into that 1 way of 36 (2) and 2 ways of 36 (3) so 3 ways of 36.. My thought is a hedge by hopping the sevens for 2 dollars each or 6 dollar hedge. I realize its a poor player edge as a stand alone with a 15 to 1 payout and house edge of 11.11 % but integrated into the strategy, the Seven then pays 30 dollars less the 4 dollars for the other 2 dollar each bet on the non way Seven hop. That would lessen the complete loss of the Seven on the come out. Then consider a 3 roll following point made and then.take down the placed six and eight regardless of those numbers hitting at all or hitting all 3 rolls. Then leave your DP until point loss or a more likely Seven out win. Always a leak in any strategy but this one I see your working with a house edge of 1.36 percent on the DP and 1.52 percent house edge on the Place 6 and 8 but with a hit and win and run when your up 20 percent or so it seems like a good risk to reward compared to many other strategies.

In that situation you will have a net negative, but you have hedged your loss. You can then play the next shooter without a Pass/Don’t Pass and you are betting on them with nothing additional taken from your bankroll. Additionally, if you are getting shooters with repeat hits on the point, you can shift bet off 6/8 to the 5/9. I hope that helps a little.

I have used this strategy and it does pretty well EXCEPT when the come out 7s eat you up. If you have the bank roll. I would suggest laying $30 on the 6 and $30 on the 8 on the come out. If big red hits on the come out, you get paid from the lay bet. If a 6 or 8 hits on the come out, you only lose $30 and your Don't bet has a mathematical advantage over a 6 or 8. Always take the lay bet down after the come out. Some people will also put a bet on the yo (11) on the comeout but I usually just risk losing the Don't on an 11.

@@724riff statistically the 4 and 10 are better for the lay bet, but you have to risk 2x the money for 1/2 the reward on a 4 or 10. The 6 and 8 have much less money at risk even though they are more likely. Also keep in mind that the lay bet IS ONLY for the come out roll. Pull those down after the comeout. With a 1/6 chance of a 7 on the comeout, you are just trying to protect your Don't bet. If the 7 comes, you make $50 (minus vig) on the combined $60 lay bet on the come out. So you loose the Don't bet but buffer it with the lay win. If a 6 or 8 becomes point, you lose $30 but your Don't bet lives past the come out and has a statistical advantage (slight). The 11 is the hole on the come out, but you could put a small bet on the 11 on the come out if you wanted to.

I like the strategy, I like the $40 Don't Pass hedge and I'm going to add that to my play to see how it might help, but I like to place the 6 and 8 'NO' on the come out roll while playing minimum on the pass line while taking 10x odds on a good point like 6 or 8 and sometimes I'll do the same while placing the 5, 6, 8, and 9 all 'ON' on the come out roll because I don't want to miss winning when I get a good point on the come out instead of Big Red which seems to be the case most of the time if I don't have the place bets turned on. And unless it's a hot table with long rolls I'll take three wins and then just take it all down because Big Red is inevitable. But if there's a lot of hot shooters with long rolls I might press them up and try for six or seven wins then take it all down because Big Red eventually comes and I hate loosing a bunch of pressed bets when that happens. it's conservative paly with the occasional press and hope for six or seven wins. I miss a few additional wins sometimes, but I don't often lose a lot of pressed up place bets to Big Red unless there are a quick PSO's in rapid succession. I don't know why more players don't just take bets down after a few wins because sometimes there are long rolls and everyone plays for those, but more often than not there are three or four rolls and then a PSO. What do you think Mike?

Point Established and then a 7-out occurs mathematically 16.67% of the time -- Each roll is independent and it is impossible for the 7 to magically show up an extra 12 % of the time just because the previous roll established a point. Now, with that said, bets are resolved after 2 rolls approximately 28.1% . 16.7% of the time you 7-out and 11.4+% of the time you make the point - ie N then 7 = 16.7% and N then same N = 11.4+% . OLD #7 is correct. Every roll of the dice is an independent event. There are 6 ways to roll a 7 out of 36 possible outcomes. 6 / 36 = 16.67 % no matter how you slice it. It’s the same as not having your place bets working on the come out roll. Mathematically speaking, it’s no different than any other roll and there’s no advantage to it other than keeping your money a little longer. It would be the same as calling all of your bets off in the middle of a roll. That being said, this looks like a pretty good money Mgmt system. I think I might try it my next trip to the table.

Great questions Michael. If the point is 6 or 8, you can place the 5 or 9. I would just move to the next outside number. I don't recommend hedging against yourself. The 12 is "barred", hence Don't Pass bar 12. It just means that the 12 is a push. It is how the house maintains it's edge. Lastly, a 2 or 3 on the come out wins on the DP and has no effect on the 6/8. I hope this answers your questions. Feel free to contact me at onpointcraps@gmail.com if you have more.

The strategy relies on betting the 3 strongest numbers. Let’s say you hit the 10 as the point. That is a 2:1 disadvantage against the 7. If you place the 10 and 7 comes, you are no longer making profit on a 7 out. It does increase your spread and if the number hits only once, then you are ahead again. I hope that helps.

Do you have a strategy to minimize your risk after a profit point is reached? For instance, since the DC is a contract bet, you obviously cant remove it. So, that only leaves the place bets as options. Is there a profit point where you would turn your place bets off and ride out the DC ? Or maybe move the place bets to odds on the DC ? This is an area, just learning this game, that I am struggling with, especially in a strategy where one winning roll ( for the DC in this case), off sets the two other bets. Still yeilds a $4 profit, but if you could have turned them off, got them out, or moved them to odds, at a certain profit point, you could really realize a nice win off that last roll.

This may be a good system to cash out Bonus chips. I won a BJ Tournament in Vegas and awarded about $35,000 chips. I played craps using theose chip. They are 100, 500 and 1000 chips. If I win $100 on a passline bet, they give me a regular black chip. In the process of playing the $35,000 Bonus chips, I did not have a lot of luck and lost about $7,000. I was just playing the passline, free odds and place the 6 and 8. I can't bet passline and don't pass at the same time. I am going to use your system to cash out my bonus chips next time. Can you suggest other system for this purpose?

  • @OnPointCraps

That is a great question. Since bonus chips are typically only allowed on passline or don't pass bets, I would bet the DP only. Maybe hedge the comeout roll with a lay bet (4 or 10). Once a point is established, the odds are in your favor.

There is supposed to be about a two foot flat back wall section in the middle of the table with a mixing bowsl on both sides of that in the corners only. This gives you a flat surface to hit the back wall in the middle of the table. Your table is set up with a continuous curve in your back wall, with no flat back wall area in the middle, which will greatly change what you can toss with your dice.

Why not start out with a $5 bet during the come out roll, and then once the point is established, added a $25 odds bet to the don’t pass line? A 7 with that odds combination will yield $5 for the original $5 bet, and about $37 for the $25 odds bet, for a total of $42. I love playing Craps and gambling and your channel is great. I just think you should call it what it is and not make it sound like your making a real investment in a real asset when your actually gambling; playing a negative expectation game of chance for money. Words have specific meanings and should be used properly in their proper context or people might confuse things like investing and gambling which are two totally different things.

Interesting commentary. What if I have a separate account solely for the use of gambling. Is that any different then having an account to add/remove funds from the stock market. The market can be considered a gamble. If I “invest” $300 at the craps table and leave with $360, I have a $60 return on investment. I would call that profit. If I can consistently get s 20% ROI, that is better than most investments. I am glad you like my videos and appreciate taking the time to comment. I would love to hear more.

@On Point Craps - The definitions of the words are completely different and you're reasoning by analogy not first principals. Reasoning by analogy sounds good, but ignores fundamental truths like the precise definitions of words. I could compare many unrelated things to each other and reason that they are the same when in reality they are completely different even though they may have some metaphorical similarities. When someone invests they’re buying an asset like a stock and it can increase or decrease in value, it can produce passive income in the form of a dividend payment, and even if it decreases in value the owner doesn’t have to sell it and realize a loss. When someone makes a bet they are risking something, usually a sum of money, against someone else's on the basis of the outcome of a future event, such as the result of a race, game or the role of the dice. They’re risking money not buying an asset. There is some risk in buying an asset. But making a bet or gambling is inherently more risky because it’s based on probability. Investments are mostly real assets that can be bought, sold, held, and even used to create derivative assets like call options. I like gambling and craps a lot. I play responsibly and it’s a lot of fun except when I lose. I also buy stocks that I hold for very long periods of time using compound interest to my advantage while avoiding capital gains tax. I’d rather borrow against them at low interest rates then pay high rates of capital gains tax, so I rarely sell. Investing well in stocks allows me to play craps, not the other way around. They are two very different things. Keep making great videos. They are entertaining and informative. I think it sounds smarter to say ‘winnings’ than ‘profits’ and ‘risking’ or ‘gambling’ than ‘investing’. They’re definitely more accurate words to use when playing any negative expectation game of risk like craps. That way one gets misled.
